- Head of Our Private Client
Amy joined the firm in 2016 as Head of our Private Client department, having previously run Private Client for a niche' Corporate, Trusts and Tax Firm after training and starting her career in a Legal 500 Solicitors.
Amy has worked extensively for private and business clients advising on all aspects of Wills, Trusts and Estates. She is pragmatic in her approach, with exceptional client liaison and communication skills which help provide complex tailored Inheritance Tax planning solutions. She often administers Trusts and Estates which involve significant agricultural or business assets.
Amy has two postgraduate degrees, in Business and Finance Law and Law (specialising in Revenue Law), to further compound her knowledge in these areas.
Interests include spending time with her Horses and her young daughter on her Pony and watching her son play Junior Rugby. Amy is also involved in helping out her husband with the family farming business and the running of Men's Senior Rugby at her local club.
After many years of varied experience in legal practices, Catherine qualified in 2002.
Fluent in the French language, she initially trained as a linguist (working in industry) and has been an interpreter for Staffordshire Police and at the Magistrates' and Crown Courts.
Catherine is a Full Accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), an independent, national organisation of lawyers, such as solicitors, barristers, and legal executives who are committed to providing the highest quality of legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
She is also a former Trustee of CASS the Carers Association, a registered charity (based in Stafford and covering Staffordshire) which provides confidential advice, information and emotional support to unpaid carers of any age who look after someone who needs help at home owing to disability, illness or the effects of old age.
Claire obtained a degree in Law from Liverpool in 1995, and thereafter a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2003, gaining a distinction.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005, Claire has 14 years' experience and joined Hand Morgan & Owen after several years' at a large Manchester practice. Before qualifying as a solicitor, She worked at Citizens Advice and Manchester City Council in their advice department.
Claire has a wealth of experience in the fields of Wills, Probate and Powers of Attorney. She provides a friendly and approachable service, and has a special interest and empathy in dealing with the affairs of the elderly
Outside interests include badminton, cooking, gardening and genealogy. Claire is also actively involved with her local community and Church.
After obtaining her law degree from Manchester University and completing her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) at the College of Law in York and her training contract, Clare was admitted as a solicitor in 1997 and has worked in both Stafford and Stoke on Trent since qualification.
Clare joined the firm in September 2019.
Clare specialises in a full range of commercial property work including acting for buyers and sellers in relation to acquisitions and disposals including conditional sales and purchases and landlord and tenant work from agreements to lease and leases to licences to assign, to underlet and to alter. She also enjoys assisting Landlord's with the legal side of the management of their portfolios. She also undertakes residential sales and purchases.
Clare lives in Stafford and enjoys going to the theatre, watching (not playing!) all sports including football, cricket, and athletics, reading and spending her free time with her husband and daughter.

Jennifer has a Law Degree and was awarded honours by the Law Society in her Final Examinations.
She has a Level 1 Certificate in British Sign Language.

After a long association with the firm Julie became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1995. She has specialised in family law for over 20 years and is a member of Resolution. Members of Resolution believe that family law disputes should be dealt with in a constructive way designed to preserve people's dignity and to encourage agreements. She also administers trusts for the firm.
Specialises in family law and trusts. She has a special interest in financial and private law Children Act applications.
Interests include gardening, food and travel.
Lucy joined the firm in 2017, whilst completing her LPC (LLM) course at the University of Law. Lucy also has a BA (Hons) in History from Sheffield Hallam University and a LLB from the University of Birmingham.

Nigel Pepper Nigel Pepper - Consultant (Non-Practising) (1976) Former Partner of 27 years, now a consultant solicitor (Non-Practising) to the firm. Former High Court Enforcement Officer and former member of the Board of the High Court Enforcement Officers Association . Olivia studied for her Honours Degree in Law in Leeds before going on to study for her Post Graduate
Patrick Farrington Patrick Farrington - Partner (1996) - Stafford Managing Partner (2015) dealing with compliance matters including being the firm's nominated COLP and MLRO High Court Enforcement Officer and former Director of the HCEO National Board; Company Secretary of Katharine House Hospice; Leader of Stafford Borough Council. Interests include politics, coin collecting, gardening, reading and sport, particularly cricket, football and golf. Extensive foreign travel included working as a lifeguard in California. Admitted 1990. Specialises in company and commercial work advising directors and shareholders and property and contentious probate litigation. Has completed the specialist ACTAPS ( Association of Contentious Trust and Probate specialists) qualification and advised on many Will disputes and Inheritance Act matters often dealing with complex litigation involving multi-million pound estates. Tenacious but renowned for providing sensible and commercial advice.

Patrick has a BSC Econ in Law and Politics, MBA. Diploma in Legal Practice (Plus LPC PI Prize winner).
Patrick qualified on 1 September 2003 having joined the firm as a trainee in August 2001 after completion of his LPC.
Patrick works in our Litigation Department specialising in Civil Litigation (including Debt Recovery and Neighbour disputes), Residential Landlord and Tenant Repossession, Personal Injury and Employment.

Sarah has an Honours Degree in Law and Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LLM LPC) from Nottingham Trent University.
Sarah joined the firm in 2019 having worked in residential conveyancing for the past 4 years. Sarah is now a Trainee Solicitor working across a variety of departments whilst running a caseload covering property transactions, ably supported by our Head of Conveyancing and the Managing Partner.
Sarah has experience acting for a range of clients varying from first time buyers to property investors with large portfolios.
Interests outside of work include Hot Yoga, Cooking & Travel.

Victoria Follows Victoria Follows - Partner (2016) - Stafford Joined the firm in February 2012, Victoria also has a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Staffordshire University thereafter completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course; Honorary Secretary of the Stafford & District Law Society.
