Alan Booth - Managing Director

Alan Booth is a managing director and head of the Agency and Trustee Services practice, based in London. Alan has over 18 years of experience in legal and financial services. He is a qualified English solicitor and a licensed attorney with the New York State Bar. Prior to joining Kroll, Alan was the Global Head of Capital Markets at Ocorian, a global fiduciary and corporate services provider. Throughout his tenure at Ocorian, Alan oversaw significant growth in both the UK business and the Capital Markets service line through both strong organic growth and several acquisitions. Alan started his career by spending three years in private practice at a boutique law firm associated with Rathbones in Jersey Channel Islands. He then moved to Deutsche Bank in 2009, where he held several roles in both the Corporate Services division and Deutsche's Trust and Agency Services. Alan holds an LLB from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Additionally, he holds a master's degree (LLM) in commercial and corporate law from University College London.

Alan Lee, CPA, CA, CFA, CBV joined Kroll in 2010 and is a managing director in the Expert Services practice in the Toronto office. Alan has more than 15 years of valuation, disputes and transaction experience. Alan's focus is in the mining and natural resource sectors. His clients include many of the world's largest mining and oil & gas companies, as well as many development stage companies, pension, private equity and hedge funds. Alan's engagements range from valuations of business, equities, illiquid debt, royalties, streaming arrangements, exploration assets, reserves, midstream and downstream assets, and loss quantification. Prior to joining Kroll, Alan was a partner with Cole & Partners, a Toronto-based valuation advisory firm. He is a contributing author to various topics related to valuations featured in CA Magazine and Canadian Tax Journal and is a guest speaker on valuation topics at various conferences. Alan received his BA and MAcc from the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and is registered as a FINRA foreign associate.

Alexander Weiterer

Alexander Weiterer is a managing director in the Financial Due Diligence practice and part of the Transaction Advisory Services team based in Munich. Prior to joining Kroll, Alexander was a partner at KPMG where he helped build KPMG's Insurance Deal Advisory. He started his consulting career in 2008 with KPMG with a stint at EY and then rejoined KPMG in 2017. Before his time with KPMG, Alexander worked at a German Bank for two years.

Alison Timme - Managing Director

Alison Timme is a managing director in the Restructuring Advisory practice, based in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. Alison leverages more than 20 years of experience in assisting clients with both consensual restructurings and formal insolvency proceedings, providing advice to banks, creditors and corporates as well as taking Chapter 6 business rescue appointments. Her experience covers a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, mining and construction, and consumables. Prior to joining Kroll, Alison served as Associate Partner for the Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy practice at Ernst & Young Parthenon. In this role, she conducted Chapter 6 Business Rescue appointments, led a number of rapid assessments and independent business reviews, conducted liquidity assessments and options analysis, advised business rescue practitioners and conducted financial restructuring of high-profile entities. Previously, she was also a senior advisory team member to the Curator of African Bank, the largest successful curatorship in sub-Saharan Africa to date. Prior to this, Alison helped set up the PwC restructuring practice in South Africa where she was involved in both formal and informal workouts and operational and financial restructuring. Before this, Alison spent over 10 years in London specialising in financial restructuring, informal workouts and insolvencies (administrations), working across a number of jurisdictions during this period. Alison has represented South Africa on the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Professionals Association's (INSOL) technical newsletter committee. She is the author of several published articles for the INSOL and of the annual Business Restructuring and Insolvency Report (Times Group). She has also lectured on the topics of business rescue and restructuring as a guest at the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town and is a regular speaker at South African restructuring conferences. Alison is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) and a Licensed Business Rescue Practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in accounting from the University of Cape Town. She currently sits on the Board of the Turnaround Management Association of Southern Africa. Alison is also a member of the South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association (SARIPA).

Anand Trivedi - Managing Director

Anand Trivedi is a Managing Director and the leader of the Fixed Asset Advisory Services practice in Canada, based in the Toronto office. He leverages more than 20 years of valuation experience and specializes in providing industrial facility valuations. Anand provides clients advisory services related to IFRS/ASPE, financial reporting, allocation of the purchase price, due diligence, fresh start accounting, disputes, litigation, liquidation, insurance, financing, tax, and the creation of fixed assets property records. He has served on various committees and chapters of the American Society of Appraisers. Previously, he has also spoken at a professional conference organized by the Canadian Association of Government Finance Officers on managing property valuation and data issues in today's economy. Anand holds a Master of Valuation in real estate and a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from Sardar Patel University. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers in machinery and technical specialties.

Connie Lee is an associate managing director in the Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice of Kroll. Connie, currently based in the Toronto office, has more than 15 years of experience in providing forensic accounting, damages quantification, fact-finding investigation and litigation support services. Prior to joining Kroll, Connie worked for Big Four accounting firms in Toronto, Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia. Connie has worked on complex matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, fund tracing, post-acquisition transaction disputes, contract pricing disputes, shareholder disputes, tax disputes, valuation disputes, professional negligence, unfair prejudice claim, business interruption, matrimonial disputes, expropriation, personal injury and fatalities. Connie has managed a number of high-profile engagements, including a $250 million claim as a result of an alleged defamatory article published in an Australian newspaper that resulted in the collapse of a national telecommunications company. Another engagement was related to an unfair prejudice claim brought by minority shareholders against the publicly traded company and the major shareholder. The minority shareholders alleged that the company's announcement of a preliminary non-binding proposal to restructure the business resulted in the decrease and on-going diminution of the share price of the company. Connie has also managed a number of internal investigations, including an assessment of assets misappropriated by a former general manager and payments made to his partly owned (and related) companies from his former employer, a national telecommunications company. The former general manager had unilaterally awarded service contracts from his former employer to his partly owned (and related) companies. Connie has extensive experience preparing expert witness reports for court and arbitration cases in various jurisdictions, including Canada, the U.S., Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the British Virgin Islands and the Republic of the Philippines. She has assisted both plaintiffs and defendants, supported the role of a neutral expert and has managed expert determinations. Connie holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Toronto and a postgraduate diploma in forensic accounting from Seneca College. Connie is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Certified General Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Dr. Howard E. Johnson, DBA, FCPA, FCA, FCMA, FCBV, CPA, CFA, ASA, CF, C.Dir. is the Canadian Market Leader and managing director in the M&A Advisory practice. Howard has been advising business owners, executives and corporate boards on acquisitions, divestitures, financing, fairness opinions and shareholder value matters for more than 20 years. He has completed numerous M&A transactions across various sectors, including consumer products, industrial products and services, and technology. Howard is the author of several books on the subjects of corporate finance and valuation published by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, including: Shareholder Value (2018); Strategic Acquisitions (2015); Selling a Private Company (2014) and Business Valuation (2012).
