ELGOL - Key Persons

Calum Mackinnon

Calum is another of Seumas' grandsons who has spent years working on the Misty Isle during his school holidays. Calum is a keen musician who has just graduated from the National Centre for Excellence in Traditional Music and on his way to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Calum, like his cousin Seumas, has worked his holidays on the boats since he was old enough to pass around the biscuits!

Coral Sinclair

Job Titles:
  • Partner
Coral is Seumas' partner and also has a background in drama, theatre and voice acting. Coral is from the little Highland village of Newtonmore (known for it's great shinty team!). Coral is a friendly face to greet you in Elgol and will talk you through everything you need to know to make your trip a wonderful experience! She is also a keen piper but don't let that put you off!

Duncan Henderson

Duncan arrived in Elgol from his native home island of Gigha when he was lucky enough to fall in love with an Elgol girl! Duncan has also spent his life at sea and used to run a mussel farming business on the waters near Elgol. Duncan skippers the Maid of Coruisk and is often part of the team taking care of our wedding parties on their way to tie the knot at Loch Coruisk

Sandy Mackinnon

Seumas & Anne's eldest son, Sandy, now skippers the Misty Isle, our flagship vessel. Sandy has spend many years at sea, fishing for langoustines and now ferrying passengers to Loch Coruisk. In fact his very first ‘job' as a youngster was collecting the fares for his father on the ‘Apollo' back int the 80s! A keen student of local history, Sandy loves to retell some of the amazing tales of the area - often with his own unique twist and humour! He is always happy to talk to passengers about life growing up in Elgol.

Seumas Mackinnon

Seumas is Sandy's son and older Seumas' grandson! Seumas' drama school background and experience in acting (both on-screen and on stage) give him the perfect experience for entertaining passengers with tales of Highland warriors, clan battles, local giants and more. Seumas has been working on the Misty Isle since he was old enough to pass around the biscuits at tea time! Back then he was happy to accept biscuits and orange juice as his wages. Unfortunately, he prefers money these days!
