Governors have made the following declarations in relation to any interests, either direct or indirect. Governors are also asked to declare any potential conflicts of interest arising from any matters or agenda items discussed by the Governing Board and its Committees at each meeting and this is formally recorded. I am a Co-opted Governor and have been a member of the Governing Body since March 2015. I am Vice-Chair as well as being a member of the Finance & Resource Committee and the Personnel Committee. I am also the Class Governor for Reception/Early Years. I've worked for more than 20 years as an employment lawyer. My job involves identifying and exploring options and then working creatively towards an agreed goal. Team work is key as well as communicating well even when there are obstacles to overcome. Mrs Nicola Fellows

Job Titles:

  • Parent Governor / Parent Governor
I am Mother of Sienna in Year 2 and my son Lucas will be starting in Reception in September 2024. I have lived in Sutton Coldfield all my life (actually attending Moor Hall for my primary education!), except for when I went to University in Nottingham where I got my degree in Primary Education (BA Hons). After my training, I taught in a 2 form primary school in Walsall for 11 years. I had many different roles and responsibilities during my time there including English Leader, science lead, set up and ran our PTA and I was the link teacher for British Council's Connecting Classroom project where I went to teach out in Tanzania and Zambia. My school had a Hearing Impaired Unit and as a school we used BSL. When I had my daughter, I decided it was time to put my family first and so I set up my family photography business. I trained to specialise in newborn photography and when I'm not photographing families in Sutton Park, you'll find me editing at my home based photography studio. Since leaving teaching, I have missed being a part of school life and when the position of parent Governor came along in Summer 2023, I knew I had to apply. It is the perfect opportunity for me to utilise my education background, combined with my business knowledge, love of problem solving and a network of local businesses. I am passionate about quality education and providing the best for our children, staff and school.

Mrs Nicola Menmuir

Job Titles:
  • Associate
  • Deputy Headteacher

Mrs Nina Ralston

Job Titles:
  • Associate
I am the proud mother of two members of the Moor Hall family past and present; Fynnie (now at secondary school) and Thea (KS2). I am determined that all of our children will continue to prosper from the very best schooling and support possible. I have devoted all of my professional life to education. I work as Head of History at a local state secondary school and have also been designated as a Specialist Leader of Education, a national award through which I have supported local schools in challenging circumstances. As such, ‘teaching and learning' is my area of expertise and particular interest. Being a Governor requires spirit, determination and ambition. I hope to combine the passion of a mother with the insight of a dedicated professional with twenty years of experience in state education.

Mrs P Messent

Job Titles:
  • Kitchen Staff

Mrs Pam Garrington - Chairman

Job Titles:
  • Chairman
  • Member of the Finance and Premises Committee
  • Member of the Personnel Committee
I started my long association with Moor Hall Primary School in September 1963 when the school opened. I was one of the original pupils! Apart from a break when I went to University and then started out in my career as a teacher, I have lived all my life in Birmingham. My daughter spent seven very happy years at this school and at that time I became a parent governor. I am now a Foundation governor. In 2012, I retired from my work as a teacher and then in the school improvement service of a local authority. However, I was keen to continue my governance role and I became a National Leader of Governance. In this role I have supported other governing boards nationally as well as the board at Moor Hall, and I have helped them to organise and plan the next steps in their development. This is a role which I have enjoyed; it has enabled me to see many examples of excellent practice and to bring back new ideas to further develop the effectiveness of the governing board at Moor Hall. Upholding and promoting the "Moor Hall child" is at the centre of all we do and I am privileged as Chair to work alongside a dedicated team of Governors.
