Mark Beaven

Mark trained at Chelsea and Camberwell Schools of Art in London, where he gained an Honours degree in Painting and a Master's degree in Printmaking. He is an experienced, qualified teacher, having taught as a visiting lecturer in adult, further and higher education for nearly twenty years. He has tutored for The Open College of Arts, affiliated to the Open University, is a contributing writer for The Artist magazine, and is a tutor and lecturer at a number of art societies. He is passionate about drawing and painting, and inspiring others to develop the technical and intellectual skills to express their own visual experiences, whatever their level of ability or experience. Mark has a thorough knowledge of art history and theory to draw on and help people contextualize their working practice. He has a particular interest in the practice and science of Drawing. He also has a specialist knowledge and practical experience of art materials and techniques, and has been a technical adviser to The Artist magazine and Sales Adviser for Cornelissen and Son, Artists' Colourmen, London.
