Dr Richard Grant

Job Titles:
  • Founder and Practice Owner
Richard Grant is the founder and practice owner having started the Practice in August 1972. He qualified in 1971 at Newcastle upon Tyne and completed a year as House Officer at the Newcastle upon Tyne Dental Hospital before moving into general practice. He was awarded, by election, to Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners of the UK (MFGDP,RCS) in 1992. Since March 2020, Dr Grant has not undertaken any clinical work.

Dr Sam Row

Sam graduated from Newcastle University in 2018 with a distinction in clinical dentisry before working in Sunderland both in practice and at Sunderland Royal Hospital as a Senior House Officer on the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. Sam has a keen interest in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. He has completed several postgraduate courses including Invisalign and Smilefast and is currently undertaking an implant course. When not working, Sam enjoys playing golf, spending time with family and friends and walking his cocker spaniel, Lola.

Dr Shreena Patel

Shreena graduated from Cardiff University in 2020 with First Class Honours. During her foundation training she was awarded a prize for her research which focused on Oral Surgery. This developed her keen interest in both oral surgery and restorative dentistry. Leading on from this Shreena successfully secured a postgraduate training post at Newcastle Dental Hospital, improving her knowledge in more complex treatment. She is currently working towards completing her Dental Surgery exam from the Royal College of Surgeons in England and is undertaking courses focusing on restoring and enhancing patient smiles. In her spare time, Shreena enjoys travelling; she has previously completed an expedition to Mongolia, spending time with friends and family and enjoys bingeing a Netflix series.

Dr Tom Conroy

Tom graduated from Newcastle University in 2015 and has since undergone postgraduate training in more complex restorative dentistry, gaining a PGcert from the prestigious Tipton Training, increasing knowledge and confidence in restoring and improving patient smiles.

Emma Common

Emma qualified at Newcastle Dental Hospital in 2002 as a dental hygienist. She has a wealth of experience and has built up a strong rapport with our patients having been at the practice for many years. They trust her to leave them with sparkling smiles and healthy gums. In her spare time Emma enjoys listening to music, crafting and also volunteers at a local cat rescue. She is the owner of 4 cats. GDC No. 6148

Miss Vanessa Gibson

Job Titles:
  • Dental Hygienist
Vanessa is a Dental Hygienist and Therapist at Cramlington Dental Centre. Along with Emma our other Hygienist, you'll be seeing her for problems relating to your gums. Vanessa also carries out fillings that the dentist refers to her. She treats a lot of children at our practice for fillings and extractions, we are very keen on prevention here so tend to go through toothbrushing with your little ones and find out a bit more about diet to help prevent further problems. Vanessa is a keen volunteer, completing 3 trips with the charity Dentaid to Uganda, providing pain relief and oral health eduction to those who would never normally have access to such a service.

Mrs Angela Watson

Job Titles:
  • Dental Nurse / Practice Manager
Angela qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2010. She joined the practice in 2016 and settled into her role as practice manager perfectly. She has helped to build a strong, friendly team and she is very proud of this and loves her job. In her spare time she likes to read, cook for her family, and go on long walks. She also has a interest in running and has completed the Great North Run to help raise funds for CHUF (Childrens Heart Unit Foundation) in Newcastle. Angela is married with three children who help to keep her spare time occupied.
