ACADEMICS - Key Persons
Abi Ralph has been committed to her role in providing the highest quality service to both candidates and schools since joining the company in 2016. After specialising in supporting South-West London schools for 4 years, Abi moved internally to lead the launch of the Berkshire office and establish Academics across the M4 corridor. She has a particular specialism in supporting Primary Mainstream Schools as well as SEN settings including local PRUs, ASD units and SEMH schools in Berkshire. Abi values honesty and integrity above all and uses this to build trusting relationships with both her client schools and the teachers and TA's she supports. Outside of work, she spends her time training in the gym and planning her next holiday!
Daniel joined Academics in March 2018 to oversee the day to day management of the business and running the Primary desk across Dartford and Gravesham. Daniel has spent nearly 20 years in recruitment across IT and Healthcare and has a wealth of experience in both contract and permanent recruitment. Daniel attended Crofton Primary School in Orpington and Coopers Technology College in Chislehurst.
Clare is a billing Recruitment/Branch Manager for Academics Ltd. Clare comes with 9 years experience in the industry. Over the many years Clare has worked in the South Yorkshire and local regions she has successfully supported many local schools and education professionals with quality tailored recruitment solutions. At Academics, I will be the main point of contact for Primary Candidates and focusing on generating new Primary opportunities to our loyal candidate pool within the South Yorkshire region. Clare is an English graduate (many moons ago) with a real passion for Education and naturally an individual who cares and wants to help.

Dale's has over 7 years' experience in recruitment, having started his career with a strong 3 years in healthcare recruitment before moving to his true calling of education. Having graduated from The University of Chichester with a degree in Sports Science, Dale aspired to become a PE Teacher himself before falling into the world or work and paying bills. Dale enjoyed developing relationships with secondary schools before moving to Academics in 2019. Having initially joined for a new challenge of working with primary schools, Dale pro-actively called upon his healthcare experience to further his expertise and developed relationships with local SEN schools during the pandemic.
In his spare time, Dale coaches football and is heavily involved with community projects around the club. For his sins, he supports Watford FC and also follows local club Dorking Wanderers.
Jason has been recruiting teachers and support staff for the business since February 2008, and is one of the longest serving members of the Academics family! Prior to working in recruitment, after graduating in Music, Jason worked in publishing sales and retail, before taking a chance on a resourcing opportunity for the company in 2008, and he has been here ever since. From 2011, Jason has successfully grown the Academics brand within the Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford Local Authorities. Jason manages the Halifax branch and still directly supports recruitment process in Calderdale primary schools. Because of the trust Jason has built with his client schools, he is also heavily involved with a large amount of permanent vacancy management, from TA's to SLT. Jason holds Cert RP status with the REC.

Linda joined Academics as Branch Manager in 2018. With extensive experience in the recruitment industry Linda has worked in Education Recruitment since 2007, mainly in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. She is well known amongst the schools in the area as, at one time or another, she has dealt with most of them meeting their short or long term recruitment needs. Linda is a fully qualified recruiter and holds a Diploma in Recruitment Practice from the REC. She also has a Certificate in Business Management from the Open University.
Louis joined Academics in 2019 having previously spent 6 years recruiting and managing within the logistics industry. Since joining Academics Louis' key focus has been assisting primary schools across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
As Branch manager, Louis is truly committed to his team, since becoming Branch Manager the team have doubled in size and still expanding. Louis is keen to speak to individuals seeking a new role within recruitment to expand his team further.
Louise joined the company in 2005 as an administrator after working as a supervisor in an opticians but over the years her role has progressed and evolved. She quickly got to grips with the Education sector and took on more of a compliance role which she carried out for many years. After a short maternity break to have her son she returned to the company at the beginning of 2017 and began a brand new role supporting the Managing Director and Regional Manager with a number of tasks including looking after reporting, statistics and figures, the referral scheme and much more. Louise is now the second longest serving employee across the entire company.
Nigel joined Academics after running his own independent education recruitment agency on the Isle of Wight. With nearly twenty-five years' experience of teaching, middle, and senior leadership within schools and colleges, as well as management experience within the hospitality industry, Nigel has experienced and understands many of the problems schools and colleges face in maintaining a full, consistent and high quality staffing complement.
Nigel qualified in Hospitality Management at university followed by achieving a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies. Shortly afterwards he began his teaching career on the Island in further education before moving to schools where he qualified as a teacher.
Nigel is married with three grown up children, and has lived on the Isle of Wight for over thirty years.
Roxanne joined Academics in November 2017 and has now worked in education recruitment for over 2 years! Having previously worked in sales has given her a personable approach when recruiting teaching and support staff for her schools. Roxanne works closely with secondary schools across the North West. Outside of work Roxanne spends time with her husband, family and friends and her fur baby Ted the Pomeranian (who actually thinks he is a much bigger dog than what he is) Being an Essex native Roxanne regularly makes the long journey down to Essex over the weekends to spend time with family and friends.

Tilly is the newest member of Team Academics and joined the gang in April 2023. Prior to Academics, Tilly spent over three years in a high level, fast paced customer service role, which lends itself to the working styles of an established education recruitment business like ours. Additionally, Tilly has worked supporting young adults with additional needs, as a personal assistant. From both positions she has gained skills in communication, organisation and increasing levels of emotional intelligence. These skills are paramount in our business and Tilly will enabling the further growth of the Halifax Branch.

Yasmin is the Branch Manager for the Chelmsford office, and works with primary schools in Essex and East London. Yasmin joined Academics in April 2016 as a Resourcer and Compliance Administrator, which gave her an excellent rounded knowledge of what to look for in suitable teachers, senior leaders and support staff. Yasmin progressed to a consultant in October 2017 and has since looked after schools in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering & Essex. In 2022, Yasmin was promoted to Chelmsford Branch manager and along with the rest of her team, covers Primary, Secondary, SEN and Nursery schools across Essex, as well as her original East London patch.
