Dr Sheelagh Farrow

Dr Sheelagh Farrow graduated in Physiology/Zoology at the University of Sheffield and gained a doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. Her career has included work on multiple aspects of bone metabolism. Prior to retirement she was the Managing Director of International Medical Press, which provides independent and accredited education to healthcare professionals.

Dr Stephen Tuck

Middlesbrough Website The Bone Clinic is based at James Cook University Hospital, within the Department of Rheumatology. Clinics take place for those with Paget's disease as well as other bone disorders. Dr Tuck and the team in Middlesbrough are also involved in research into Paget's disease. The team consists of Dr Stephen Tuck (clinical lead and director), and two consultant biochemists (Dr Harish Datta, Dr Isaac Oluwatowoju and a registrar). The wider team includes physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, specialist radiologists and pathologist (Dr Julie Walker). They work closely with orthopaedics and provide a full range of treatments. Dr Tori Herridge

Dr Tori Herridge interviewed experts from Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil and India to hear their unique perspectives on Paget's disease. Dr Herridge, an evolutionary biologist and a presenter on Channel 4's Bone Detectives series, recorded the interviews, which were released for Paget's Awareness Day. In addition, Mr Recardo Patrick was interviewed by Professor Ralston to explain his personal experience of Paget's disease.

Mr Mark Wilkinson

An Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Metabolic Bone Unit of the University of Sheffield, Professor Mark Wilkinson has both an academic and clinical interest in Paget's disease. He became a Trustee in January 2022.

Mr Recardo Patrick

Entertainer and businessman, Recardo Patrick has Paget's disease. He rose to fame as lead singer with the band, Sweet Sensation.

Mrs Amanda Sherwood

Based in Bristol, Mrs Amanda Sherwood became a Trustee in 2020. Now retired, she has experience in working for societies and teaching organisations, which specialise in the field of bone and related topics.

Mrs Eve Berry

With many years of experience in the healthcare sector, Eve lives in London and is a Chartered Accountant, currently working in the drug discovery industry.

Mrs Joyce Cupitt

Mrs Joyce Cupitt's husband had Paget's disease. She served as a Trustee, for many years, before becoming an Honorary Patron in 2014.

Mrs Kely Burman

A retired nurse and midwife living in Orsett, Mrs Kely Burman has not only cared for those with Paget's disease, but her mother also had the condition. Kely joined the Board of Trustees in 2020.

Prof Graham Russell

Our Chair, Professor Stuart Ralston discusses Paget's research in the video below with Professor Graham Russell, our Honorary President (run time approx. 15 min). Emeritus Professor of Musculoskeletal Pharmacology within the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford and the Mellanby Centre for Bone Research, Sheffield, Graham Russell played a key role in the discovery and development of bisphosphonates for the treatment of bone disorders.

Michael became a member of the Paget's Association and wanted to share his experience of Paget's disease. Michael works as a part-time security officer in London and is also studying full-time for a Health Sciences with Foundation Degree.

Prof Rob Layfield

Vice-Chair of the Paget's Association, Professor Rob Layfield researches Paget's disease at the University of Nottingham. He studies the protein that was found to carry mutations in some cases of Paget's disease. He became a Trustee in 2016.

Prof Stuart Ralston - Chairman

Chair of the Paget's Association since 2018, Professor Stuart Ralston is a Rheumatologist at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. He has researched widely on the role of both genetic and environmental factors in Paget's disease and has designed and led several large‑scale clinical trials investigating the best methods of treatment, including the PRISM, PRISM-EZ and ZiPP studies.

Sir Henry Paget
