Adrian Linden

Adrian is an experienced copywriter, senior communications professional and marketeer who has worked across a diverse range of geographic markets and sectors: from engineering (he has a BSc in Materials Engineering and Design), technology, mobility and digital connectivity, to sport (a massive passion), sustainability, human resources and cosmetics. His writing skills and research have helped bring award success and increased recognition to numerous clients, companies and individuals, in the UK, Europe and Africa.

Angela Young

Angela is a former journalist with many years' experience as a reporter, producer, newsreader and news editor at the BBC. She has also taught journalism at the BBC Local Radio Training Unit. She is a dedicated story teller through words and audio and runs a podcast company to help individuals and business to tell their stories. She has just celebrated a decade of working as a consultant for Awards Intelligence, bringing success and recognition to many of her clients. She relishes meeting people from all walks of life and learning about the achievements of extraordinarily people and writing about their successes. She is also passionate about helping young people, as a volunteer for the NSPCC Speak Out, Stay Safe campaign against child sexual abuse and as an Ambassador for Form the Future, helping young people find a fulfilling career.

April Sankey - COO

With board level experience of managing businesses of all shapes and sizes she now has the pleasure of overseeing the perfectly formed team from head office, ensuring the delivery of a professional, stress-free experience for clients across all of our services. April is motivated by market-leading excellence and has a sharp focus on continuous improvement. Claire James

Claire has worked in Business Development, Marketing and Communications in the professional services sector for over 15 years. She has always been client facing and is passionate about exceptional service, enjoying nothing more than to chatter and learn about our clients each day. As Global Head of Client Relations, Claire is a key point of contact in the team, coordinating and encouraging our clients to seek - and go on to gain - the recognition that they richly deserve.

David Barnett

David is an award-winning designer who turns his talents to a multitude of diverse briefs, regularly transforming bland business award documents into stylish, on-brand and on-message entries that stand out to judges, and elevating run-of-the-mill CVs to standout professional resumés that give every candidate compelling advantage. From coding to art exhibitions and installations, David has built on his Masters Degree in Digital Media Arts to work on all manner of creative collateral for Third and Private Sector companies internationally. He also has a BA(Arch) in Architecture and studied Biological Psychology with the Open University.

Ed Murray

Edward has been part of the team for over 15 years. He has helped many individual clients secure King's honours, and guided scores of companies to success in some of the UK's most prestigious commercial awards, including the King's Awards for Enterprise and the British Business Excellence Awards. Based in our Edinburgh office, he represents Awards Intelligence in Scotland, but also works with clients internationally. He has been a journalist for the best part of 20 years, writing for a variety of financial services publications and providing business copywriting support to companies in a wide range of sectors.

Janet Kelly

Janet is a journalist and PR with over 40 years of writing experience which also encompasses scripts, novels and corporate communications. She has written for the Daily Mail, FT Surveys, BBC and Express Group and worked with many global brands in a wide range of fields. Having a deep interest in people and what motivates their decisions, successes and ambitions, she brings her skills together in one place to research and write compelling stories which catch the attention of awards and honours judges

Jo Spencer

With more than 25 years' experience in Corporate Communications and Journalism, Jo previously worked for ITV in London, having started her communications career in Sydney. An experienced PR, writer and entrepreneur, Jo has worked with a diverse range of clients, from property, engineering and medicine to hospitality and sport. She has helped many clients secure King's honours, King's Award for Enterprise and steered countless companies to success in some of the world's most prestigious awards, including the National Businesswomen Awards, the Stevie's, the Health Investor Awards, and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Jo works with national and international clients, has been part of the consulting team since 2015 and has a history degree from the University of Sheffield.

Karen Beavis

Karen previously worked as a journalist on trade publications covering retail financial services and freelancer for the national newspapers and personal finance websites. She has also produced corporate publications for many well-known brands and ran a marketing communication campaign for a high-profile public sector project. Her extensive range of editorial experience has helped Award Intelligence's clients showcase their amazing achievements and win many prestigious awards including the King's Awards for Enterprise and Honours Awards. With more than 10 years of experience of working at Awards Intelligence, Karen can claim there aren't many awards she hasn't worked on!

Kate Morgan-Tolworthy

Kate has many years' experiences working in a wide variety of roles, including recruitment, executive PA, office administration and is now an expert in international business award management. She specialises in guiding entrants from initial enquiry to awards ceremony. As well as liaising with our business awards clients globally, Kate manages all our independently judged business award programs. This involves ensuring key entry criteria is benchmarked so that both entrants and judges know exactly what is required, managing and steering our judging panels to ensure fair and transparent evaluation of entries, and generally underpinning and upholding the integrity of the awards that we market and administer.

Keith Murray

A former national newspaper journalist and Foreign Desk Editor at the Daily Mail, Keith has covered everything from wars and 9/11 to US presidential elections and the 2008 financial crisis. He has helped companies and individuals to win top awards in the UK and internationally in numerous areas from transport and oil & gas to recruitment, entertainment, philanthropy, health and sustainable construction. He has been with Awards Intelligence for over 10 years now.

Lesley Hussell

Lesley has a diverse background in top-flight journalism. As our Communications Director she draws on her track record of daily briefings at 10 Downing Street, BBC TV work in France, editing at the Daily Mail and reporting for the FT and The Sun. As our Senior Consultant she is a skilled interviewer, writer and researcher, covering subjects as varied as health to hijacks, export to archaeology, and rugby to risk management. Her love for language and critical thinking were polished during her history degree at Oxford University.

Nick Gay

Nick is the author of a best-selling guide to Berlin. He also has a raft of experience crafting marketing materials for a successful tourism business he founded in Berlin and for a wine education business he ran back home in the UK. He graduated in economics and history from Cambridge University and then worked as a chartered surveyor in the world of property finance which brought him to Berlin in the 1990s soon after the fall of the Wall. He takes a great interest in finance and investing, loves fine wine even if he can't afford it, and is inseparable from his bike at weekends.

Sam Musguin-Rowe

A journalist and copywriter, Sam has written for the likes of the Guardian, Telegraph, EMPIRE, Men's Health, VICE and WIRED, as well as some of the world's biggest brands. With a keen eye for a compelling narrative, Sam's career has seen him write profiles of Grammy Award winning musicians, world-famous sportspeople and tech billionaires, and also immerse himself in such diverse topics as banger racing, competitive eating and pro arm-wrestling. He has been part of AI's consultancy team since 2016, specialising in Royal Honours.

Samira Parkinson-Smith

Samira is a seasoned professional with a diverse skill set that spans the fields of journalism, editing, copywriting, and research. She has been part of the team at Awards Intelligence for over a decade and is committed to helping accomplished individuals secure recognition for their achievements. As a skilled copywriter she crafts compelling narratives that have proven instrumental in securing prestigious accolades for clients, including King's honours and King's Awards for Enterprise. Her commitment to excellence, coupled with a passion for storytelling, makes Samira a sought-after expert in the art of writing bespoke award nominations. Prior to joining the team, she spent over a decade working for ABC News (American Broadcasting Company), navigating the complexities of international news, demonstrating a keen understanding of global affairs and honing the ability to conduct meticulous research and distil complex narratives into compelling stories for a broad audience. Samira graduated from Durham University and speaks fluent Farsi.

Serena Gay

A former BBC news journalist, Serena also worked for the English service of Germany's DW TV in Berlin, on news, documentaries and promotions. In addition to her work for Awards Intelligence, she produces podcasts for business clients and voices audio guides for museums across the world. So, it's fair to say she works with the written and the spoken word to convey well-researched and engaging content. She also enjoys using her writing and audio skills to help produce The Cotswold Listener - a free talking magazine for the sight impaired. Serena has been part of the team since 2017 and loves playing a role helping people who contribute so much to our world, gain well-deserved recognition.

Siobhan Lynch

Siobhan is an experienced office manager with a background in Higher Education, publishing and event management. Siobhan has always had a keen interest in Frontier Tech, beginning in the early 2000s when she worked with the Game City team (celebrating the thriving games industry in the East Midlands), hosting the first P2P academic conference in the UK. After many years of working in Higher Education, Siobhan followed her interests to take a post at an award-winning Autism Specialist school. In 2023, with a keen focus on extraordinary achievement, Siobhan joined the Awards Intelligence team and has enjoyed helping to support outstanding individuals in gaining recognition since.

Sue Pilfold

Sue's experience is extensive and ranges from writing Royal Honours nominations, proofreading, editing and critiquing the work of others, to judging business awards. Over the years, she has written and critiqued hundreds of nominations, dealing with clients from a huge variety of backgrounds and disciplines. In the case of writing nominations this has also involved liaising with clients and supporters, answering questions and giving advice, and when critiquing, providing written critical feedback, and advising clients on the quality of their nominations and the steps they need to take.
