Anna Ryten

Anna joined Mountford Pigott in 2006 as a senior architect with a background in healthcare and residential buildings. Since then she has expanded her range of project types to include retail, leisure, hotels and mixed-use development. She became an Associate Director in 2009 and a Partner in 2013. With wide ranging project experience from inception to completion, Anna has a particular interest in strategy and planning where her analytical and conceptual abilities combine with excellent communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with clients and stakeholders to achieve successful developments. Anna's skills include designing schemes in sensitive locations with multiple and sometimes conflicting constraints which require complex solutions. She has built longstanding relationships with clients to help them develop and realise profitable strategies for their property portfolios. In addition to project work Anna takes an active role in the management of the practice leading initiatives for the introduction of integrated project and practice management software; the introduction of an interactive digital office manual and developing office protocols and quality management systems. Anna participates in a number of internal steering groups on topics ranging from CDM to external envelope performance, BIM, health and wellbeing and CSR. Anna manages Mountford Pigott's accreditation with ISO:9001, SMAS and Constructionline.

Ian Robinson

After completing his architectural education at Bath University Ian joined Mountford Pigott in 1988. With partner Alan Gaskell (now retired), Ian took over the running of the practice in 2000. Since then, Ian has led the Practice to great success in the design and construction of a diverse range of projects including many complex retail and leisure schemes and landmark mixed-use developments. Ian has also led the Practice's retail & leisure asset management work for many of the leading funds and developers across the UK. In recent years Ian has helped steer the practice through a period of considerable growth and has always been committed to building a practice producing high-quality design and delivery. To that end Ian instituted ISO:9001, ISO:14001 and quality management systems in the Practice. Experienced in retail, leisure, residential, commercial and masterplanning work, and highly skilled with complex mixed-use schemes and town centre regeneration, Ian provides a full range of design-led services for a broad client base including feasibility studies and appraisals, planning discussions and design development through to contract negotiations and delivery on site.

Mat Mills

Mat joined Mountford Pigott in 2010, bringing with him 20 years of experience in residential and commercial development. During his time at the practice he has applied his considerable technical and industry knowledge, procurement experience and organisational skills to complex residential, mixed-use, leisure, hotel, Industrial and retail schemes. In 2014 he was made an Associate and in 2016 promoted to Senior Associate Director, before being made Partner in 2024. Mat's keen attention to detail and analytical skills ensure that Mountford Pigott can hit the ground running when tackling complex tenders and challenging programmes. He manages teams for large and complex projects in particular during the delivery stages. Mat takes an active role in business development and is happy to discuss new projects and how Mountford Pigott can offer added value to the team.

Michael Whitwell

Michael joined the practice in August 2018 as a Senior Architect, having previously spent 13 years in central London working on large scale projects across a variety of sectors from commercial and residential to industrial and listed buildings. He was made an Associate in 2019, and Senior Associate in 2021, before being made partner in 2023.
