Andrew Quigg - Chief Strategy Officer

Andrew was named chief strategy officer in July 2018. In his role, he develops the overall corporate strategies to achieve company objectives and strategies for future profitable growth opportunities. He joined Progressive in 2007 as an agency auto product manager and managed several states in both the Direct and Agency channels for five years, including Massachusetts after Progressive's market entry. Andrew then served as a business leader for Direct Media, leading the internal team responsible for media buying. Most recently, he served as the customer experience general manager where he focused on process improvements for our customers. Prior to joining Progressive, he worked at Merrill Lynch, General Mills, and McKinsey. Andrew holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bill Clawson - CHRO

Bill was named chief human resources officer in November 2021 after serving as Progressive's business leader for compensation and benefits. In his role, he's responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing organization-wide policies and programs for all of Progressive's people that align with business objectives. He began his career at Progressive in 2004 in the Personal Lines organization, and held numerous roles in the Customer Acquisition area, where he was instrumental in the company's efforts to enter the home insurance business, and in building multi-product quoting, which propelled Progressive into the top spot for online home insurance. He then moved into a product role where he successfully managed our Auto business in several states. During his time at Progressive, Bill's had a profound impact on the organization's diversity and inclusion efforts, as he was a founding member of the Progressive African American Network (PAAN) Employee Resource Group and was responsible for helping establish the Multicultural Leadership Development Program, which develops internal leaders and future leaders with a focus on improving career growth and development opportunities for people of color. Prior to joining Progressive, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Procter & Gamble. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

David Stringer - Chief Legal Officer

David was named Chief Legal Officer in January of 2024. He is responsible for leading Progressive's Legal Group, supporting all Progressive business units and the Board of Directors. He joined Progressive in 2004 as Senior Counsel and served as Deputy General Counsel - Corporate Litigation and Employment prior to assuming his current role. During his tenure, David has provided legal counsel on matters ranging from core business issues to public company concerns, class action and complex litigation, internal investigations, emerging regulations, and the full scope of HR-related practices. He also has served on the HR Leadership Team. David joined Progressive from Ropes & Gray LLP in Boston, MA. David holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Rutgers University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.

John Murphy

John assumed the role of claims president in December 2021 after spending nearly seven years as Progressive's customer relationship management president. In this role, he's responsible for all aspects of claims strategy and resolution across all product lines. John joined Progressive as a claims representative in 1992. During his initial tenure in Claims, he held various strategy, process, and operations roles across the country, including regional claims manager, national implementation leader, claims business leader, and physical damage process business leader. John has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany.

John Sauerland - CFO

John became chief financial officer in April 2015. John joined Progressive in 1990 as a summer intern before starting full time in 1991 as an assistant product manager in Cleveland, Ohio. Since then, he's served as product manager for, at various times, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, and Pennsylvania. He's also served as general manager for Mississippi and later as general manager for Minnesota and Wisconsin. John was the claims general manager responsible for the delivery of 24/7 Progressive Claims Service for eight Midwestern states. In 2006, he was named president of Progressive's Direct business and, after the combination of our Agency and Direct businesses, he served as president of Personal Lines for eight years. John has a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Jonathan Bauer - Chief Investment Officer

Jonathan was named chief investment officer in January 2020. In his current role, he helps to set the Progressive investment strategy, which includes a focus on asset allocation and risk management. Jonathan joined Progressive in 2006 and helped manage various portfolios, including asset classes such as commercial mortgage-backed securities and corporate bonds. Prior to joining Progressive, he worked in both research and trading roles for Bank of America Securities in Chicago and London. Jonathan has a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia University.

Karen Bailo

Karen was named commercial lines president in October 2020. In her role, she's responsible for profit and loss, product development and deployment, Agency and Direct channel marketing, business development, call center operations, and IT platform strategy for the over $5B Commercial Lines business. She began her career at Progressive in 1990 in customer service as a management trainee. Since then, Karen held several leadership positions, including personal lines general manager and commercial lines controller. Additionally, she led the Agency Distribution organization for nine years positioning Progressive as a preferred supplier in the channel. Most recently she's served as the company's commercial lines acquisition and small business insurance general manager. Karen holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Lori Niederst

Lori was named customer relationship president in December 2021 after serving as Progressive's chief human resource officer for five years. In her new role, she's responsible for the strategic direction and operations of the Customer Relationship Management organization, overseeing the company's direct sales, customer service, customer experience design, and in-house agency. Lori joined Progressive in 1997 as an analyst in Corporate Finance and held various process and operations positions before joining Human Resources in 2005. She's led Progressive's Compensation and Benefits group and spent six years as the senior human resource business leader in Claims. Before joining Progressive, Lori was a practicing certified public accountant. She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Kent State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Pat Callahan

Pat was named president of Progressive's Personal Lines Group in April 2015. In this role, Pat manages Progressive's over $40B Personal Auto, Property, and Recreational Lines businesses across the country, including product design/development/management, demand generation, and new customer acquisition for both Agency and Direct channels. Pat joined Progressive in 2002 and held various product and general management responsibilities, including personal lines acquisition leader and general manager of recreational lines. Prior to joining Progressive, he managed engineering projects and plant operations for Kimberly Clark and co-founded an online distributor of recycled original equipment manufacturer auto parts. Pat has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.

Remi Kent - CMO

Remi joined Progressive in November 2021 from 3M, where she was the senior vice president and global chief marketing officer for the 3M Consumer Business Group, and was responsible for e-commerce, media, insights and analytics, and integrated marketing globally. Prior to her work at 3M, she enjoyed a long-standing career with Procter & Gamble, where she delivered growth for billion-dollar businesses across North America, Asia, and Western Europe with leadership experience in brand building, P&L ownership, strategy, and successful new product launches. Remi's a business builder who brings strategic thinking, operational discipline, innovation, and marketing mastery to solve complex business challenges. Over the course of her career, she's received numerous accolades for her leadership in business and marketing, including the likes of Ad Age Leading Women and 40 under 40, Twin Cities Women in Business Award, 100 Most Influential Black Leaders, Comparably 50, and Influential Marketing Leaders Changing the Industry. Remi's passionate about building high-performance teams and a true advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging. To bring that passion to life, she's a founding member of the Black Executive CMO Alliance, where she's working to create opportunity, access, and equality for the current and next generation of Black marketing leaders. Remi holds a degree in business administration and an MBA from Florida A&M University.

Steve Broz - CIO

Steve was named chief information officer in January 2016. He leads an organization delivering innovative and effective solutions for Progressive's customers, agents, and employees. He's responsible for all aspects of information technology at the company, including information technology strategy, operations, and processes. Since joining Progressive in 2001, Steve's held leadership positions in Customer Experience, Claims Process, Personal Lines, and IT Enterprise Project Management. Prior to joining Progressive, Steve was a senior business manager at Capital One Financial Corporation. Steve holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a master's degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

Tricia Griffith - CEO, President

Tricia was appointed president and chief executive officer and elected to the Board of Directors in July 2016. Prior to being named CEO, Griffith served as personal lines chief operating officer since April 2015, overseeing the company's Personal Lines, Claims, and Customer Relationship Management groups. Tricia joined Progressive as a claims representative in 1988 and has served in many key leadership positions during her tenure. She held several managerial positions in the Claims division before being named chief human resources officer in 2002. In 2008, she returned to Claims as the group president, overseeing all claims functions. Prior to being named personal lines chief operating officer, Tricia was president of customer operations, overseeing Claims and the Customer Relationship Management group, which comprises the company's Contact Center group (Sales and Delivery), as well as the Customer Experience, Systems Experience, and Workforce Management groups. Tricia has a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business' Advanced Management Program.
