FAWCO is a large organization with members, volunteers and partners all around the world. Founded in 1931, its mission and goals are made clear through its Mission Statement and Resolutions and Recommendations, established in 1998 and 1979 respectively. FAWCO is a United Nations-accredited non-governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). FAWCO has representatives in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Athens and Bonn. FAWCO UN Reps are on the Boards of the NGO Committees on the Status of Women in New York, Geneva and Vienna, and the NGO Committee on Migration in New York.
