UNIVERSITY OF BATH - Key Persons
Former British and English champion Adam has led the judo programme at the University of Bath since January 2020, having previously been a successful athlete and assistant coach in the elite set-up.
The 1st Dan, who fought in the under-100kg weight category, first joined the Team Bath programme in 2007 where he trained and competed alongside studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath. His international career included bronze medals at the 2015 Senior European Cup in London and at the European Open in Glasgow in both 2016 and 2018.
It was shortly after that last medal in 2018 that Adam joined the coaching team at Bath, working alongside Head Coach and mentor Juergen Klinger as assistant before taking over the reins in January 2020.

Claire is a qualified teacher and assessor with Active IQ and helps assist with the Sports Massage Level 3 and 4 courses taught at the University of Bath. Her additional skills include dry needling, myofascial cupping and kinesio taping, treating both athletes and commercial clients.
Previous experience: Claire has worked in the health and fitness industry for the past 24 years. Having studied at the London School of Sports Massage, she gained a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy. She has previously worked at the Harbour Club in Chelsea and Westover House, a private doctor's clinic in Wandsworth.

Former sprint hurdler Colin has been leading the track and field programme at the University of Bath since 2005, during which time he has coached many athletes to BUCS titles and helped others progress to the international stage, often working in conjunction with the athletes' home coach.
Among the athletes he has worked with in recent years are US heptathlete Chari Hawkins, who competed at the 2019 World Championships, and 400m hurdler Jacob Paul, who represented Team England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Other notable names include Damien Greaves, who represented Team GB in the 110m hurdles at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games; Dominic Girdler (Euro U20 Bronze medalist & AAA indoor gold medalist); Duncan Malins (GB U23 international & Indoors AAA's Silver medalist); Nicky Robinson (World U18 & U20 Competitor and AAA's U20 Champion); Nigel Levine (100m finalist at European Youth Olympic Festival 2005 and 8th all-time U17 indoor 200m); Tamsin Stephens (NI International and Commonwealth Games competitor); Andy Turner, Robert Newton and Helen Worsey.
Current members of his training group at the University of Bath include Olivia Caesar, Laura Maddox, Georgia Silcox and Tomos Slade.
As an athlete, Colin competed for the GB U23 and Welsh Senior teams before moving into coaching. He was Sprints & Conditioning Coach for Leicester Tigers Rugby Club from 1996-99, then was a lecturer and strength & conditioning coach at Loughborough University before moving to Bath in 2005.
A qualified Sports Massage Therapist, Colin was UK Sprint Hurdles National Coach for five years.

Greg joined Team Bath in 2002 as a sports development coordinator and has worked his way up to Deputy Director of Sport at the University of Bath, a role he has held since September 2013.
This role sees him lead on the Department's contribution to the student experience, widening participation and developing sporting pathways. He line manages six of the department's head coaches, as well as partnerships with British Triathlon and Southampton FC and building on the strong relationship with the Students' Union.
A University of Bath Sport & Exercise Science graduate, he has always looked for personal development opportunities and graduated in 2017 from the Executive Masters in Business Administration delivered by the School of Management at Bath.
Greg was responsible for the creation of our popular Team Bath Tribe youth sport programme and works closely with our partner organisations to develop a wealth of youth pathways through curriculum-based and other projects using both on-site and outreach delivery. He also put together successful bids to Sport England for funding for the Team Bath Talent Development Centre, now known as Futures, and in conjunction with the Students' Union, was granted funds from both the Active Universities programme and University Activation Fund. He worked closely with Brian Roper helping to secure eight years of funding for Team Bath Tribe outreach projects by Roper Rhodes that reached over 25,000 pupils.
A former footballer, he was a member of the Team Bath FC team that reached the first round proper of the FA Cup in 2002 - becoming the first University side to reach that round for more than 120 years. He coached the University of Bath women's football team that won the BUCS title for the first time in 2005 after reaching three successive finals.
An Olympic torchbearer in the lead-up to London 2012, Greg has supported projects with the British Olympic Foundation in inspiring young people including the annual Olympic Day Run.

Previous Experience: Jack graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in Physiotherapy. He initially practised in the NHS working both in a rotational post, and then a specialised MSK (musculoskeletal) role. Outside the NHS Jack worked as a physiotherapist for several sports clubs and teams. He was physiotherapist for the Scotland National Cerebral Palsy football team as well as amateur rugby and within professional football academies. In the past he has worked with the likes of Kilmarnock, Motherwell and, most recently, Celtic.
