Bob Crowell - CEO

Bob is responsible for the firm's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) design and construction administration services. He also oversees the division's business development and marketing functions where he plays a key role in building relationships with clients, building owners, sub-consultants, and construction professionals. Bob's career in the MEP industry spans 38 years-35 of them with 2RW. In 1985, he co-founded the firm to bring affordable and attainable energy efficiency and sustainability principles to building owners in all markets and has played an instrumental role in expanding the firm's offerings. Bob has broad technical and leadership experience, having managed MEP/FP design, facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, LEED design and administration, Revit/CAD design, and life cycle cost analyses for countless new construction, renovation, and historic restoration projects across the country. His market experience ranges from K-12, higher education, and healthcare to commercial, mixed-use, government, military, and more. Bob served as adjunct faculty in the University of Virginia's Graduate School of Architecture, where he taught a graduate-level course related to energy conservation and environmental control systems for businesses. Brandon Wilson

Brandon is an accomplished project manager and electrical engineer who began his career in 2010. He joined 2RW in 2019 and leads MEP/FP design projects in Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. He centers his design philosophy on user-driven solutions, designing systems that are usable and maintainable. Combined with a focus on the most cost-effective solution, this approach ensures a successful engineering design. Brandon believes in building quality assurance into the design process. He focuses on developing, standardizing, and automating QC processes and leveraging data to drive process efficiency. Brandon excels in managing teams of MEP trade engineers to design solutions that meet clients' goals for affordable, constructible, and energy-efficient buildings. Brandon also is heavily involved in cross-training engineers in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to drive value in the project development and quality control process. Dawn Spatz

Dawn is a veteran business professional who has been a valuable member of the 2RW team for 17 years. Through a 30-year career serving a broad range of businesses such as engineering consulting, healthcare, manufacturing, software development, and insurance, she has gained a solid foundation in the principles of business management and leadership. Dawn plays a key role in management decision-making and strategic planning initiatives by contributing broad financial expertise, accurate data, and HR management best practices. She drives the definition and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, payroll, and benefits and ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Dawn is singularly focused on maintaining the fiscal health of the firm through the diligent implementation of AP/AR, financial reporting and analysis, tax, and insurance systems and processes. She is also a dedicated employee advocate who supports employee hiring and retention initiatives and defines and administers the firm's benefits and payroll systems.

Lucas Hoffmann

Lucas is a committed client advocate who has been with 2RW since 2016. Lucas leads MEP/FP design projects in Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Since the beginning of his career in 2002, Lucas has consistently delivered successful projects by fostering collaboration between design teams, clients, owners, and contractors. Lucas uses this experience to develop systems that integrate seamlessly and cost-effectively within renovation and new construction projects. Lucas helps clients identify and achieve their building energy efficiency, maintenance, and operations goals. He has significant sustainable design experience and has supported clients on award-winning projects recognized by the AIA, APWA, IFRAA, UGBC LEED and other local/national institutions, associations, and ‘Green' building rating systems. With extensive management and design expertise, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to helping clients achieve their goals, Lucas brings exceptional value to every project. Matthew Lewis

Matthew is a skilled mechanical engineer who has been with 2RW since 2019. He has over 14 years of experience designing mechanical systems for high-performing buildings and managing successful engineering teams. Complementing his design and management role, Matthew applies his blend of leadership, knowledge, and communications skills to lead business development and client-relationship management efforts for 2RW. As senior mechanical engineer and project manager, Matthew builds effective teams and facilitates communication between engineers, clients, building owners, sub-consultants, and contractors. He is eager to help building owners define and achieve their energy efficiency and operational and maintenance goals. Taking a customer-centric approach, Matthew designs efficient, yet cost-effective designs that are easily maintainable. With a background in design-build, he innately takes part in the construction administration phase and proactively communicates with contractors to solve unforeseen issues. Matthew understands the value of prioritizing early collaboration and frequent communication to deliver projects that meet clients' goals, budgets, and timelines without sacrificing quality. Neal is a seasoned senior electrical engineer and project manager with a strong work ethic and a highly technical skill set. Dedicated to client satisfaction, Neal is passionate about developing and growing client relationships. Neal has the skills and knowledge to ensure that 2RW delivers on commitments to clients. With over two decades of industry experience, and with 2RW since 2015, he has managed and led electrical design for an extensive array of project types over a wide range of markets. Neal's experience and comprehensive knowledge of building systems brings a breadth and depth of expertise to every project. Her vast experience working in a variety of markets in both the B2B and B2C sectors enables Susan to create effective, client-focused marketing and communications materials.
