Adrian King

Adrian is the Partner in Charge of KPMG's Climate Change & Sustainability Services team in Australia. Adrian also led KPMG's global capability and thinking in ESG, Climate Change and Sustainability services from 2014 to 2021. Adrian has more than 30 years of experience working with public and private companies globally providing financial and non-financial advisory, reporting and assurance services. Adrian advises organisations on all aspects of ESG including sustainability strategies, ESG risk methodologies, environmental risk assessments, preparedness to report, materiality assessments, gap analyses, supplier screening and climate resilience planning. He has also developed many Social Return on Investment (SROI) solutions, impact measurement methodologies, valuations of social and natural capital, future corporate reporting strategies, assurance frameworks and KPI measurement scorecards. Adrian is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Fellow, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and a Registered Company Auditor.

Alison White

Alison is the leader of the National Accounting Technical Team in Deloitte's Assurance and Advisory division. She has over 19 years' audit and accounting advisory experience in Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa, specialising in the resolution of complex accounting issues. Alison was previously the Project Leader of the firm's initiatives in relation to the accounting for, valuation and impairment of non-financial assets. She is a member of the Deloitte Global Expert Advisory Panel on Leases and the Property Council of Australia's National Accounting Roundtable. Areas of specialist expertise include leasing and off-balance sheet structures, revenue recognition, impairment of assets, mergers and acquisitions and asset sale transactions.

Caroline Spencer

Ms Spencer was appointed Auditor General for Western Australia in May 2018. She is the first woman to undertake the role. Caroline has experience in financial and performance audit across jurisdictions and sectors, and prior to her appointment led a professional services firm specialising in public sector audit and governance in Canberra. She commenced her career in business services in a Chartered Sydney firm, before moving to a Big 4 firm. She has held various board and committee roles. Caroline has a passion for promoting accountability and continuous improvement across the public sector and the accounting profession - to enhance trust and performance for the benefit of the communities we serve. She is a fellow of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and the Governance Institute of Australia, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Claire Thomson

Claire is working on a number of projects including the Not-for-Profit Post-implementation Reviews. Prior to joining the AASB, Claire worked for the Victorian Department of Transport and Department of Treasury and Finance where her responsibilities included financial statement preparation, implementation of new accounting standards, accounting policy and providing technical accounting advice. Claire also worked for a number of years at the South Australian Auditor-General's Department in technical accounting and auditing roles.

Clark Anstis

Clark has worked in accounting standard-setting roles in Australia, the USA and the UK since 1987. His current principal responsibilities at the AASB concern Accounting Standards-related projects (particularly public sector projects), climate-related financial disclosures, and publication and regulatory matters. Clark has been involved with many areas over the years, including implementation issues through the former Urgent Issues Group and a total of 8.5 years as Technical Advisor to the Australian member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board. Prior to becoming a standard setter, Clark worked for a predecessor firm of Ernst & Young, in auditing, technical and education roles, based in Melbourne, but also with experience in Singapore and Indonesia.

David Holland

Dean Hanlon

Dean Hanlon is a Professor in the School of Accounting, Information Systems & Supply Chain at RMIT University. He holds a PhD in accounting and has over 25 years' experience in academia. Dean's current research interests are in financial reporting, taxation and corporate governance. He has been the recipient of several competitive industry-based research grants and has published extensively in both international and domestic peer-reviewed accounting, finance and taxation journals. Dean has previously served on CPA Australia's External Reporting Centre of Excellence and the Technical Committee of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand. He currently serves on the Academic Advisory Panel of the AASB. Dean has also acted as a technical and pedagogical consultant for CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dean is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Keith Kendall - Chairman

Dr Keith Kendall was appointed Chair of the Australian Accounting Standards Board in May 2020. During the previous 25 years, he has worked in a variety of roles in accounting, law and taxation including in academia, government and public practice. He has also held (and continues to hold) a number of volunteer roles in the not-for-profit sector, including with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. A Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of CAANZ, he is a former member of CPA Australia's Taxation Centre of Excellence. As part of his role on the AASB, Dr Kendall also serves as a member of the (Australian) Financial Reporting Council and the New Zealand Accounting Standards Board.

Dr Lachlan McDonald-Kerr

Lachlan is a Senior Manager in the Sustainability Reporting team at the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB). He primarily works on technical sustainability reporting and standard-setting matters, managing international and domestic stakeholder relationships, and supporting the AASB's sustainability research projects. Prior to joining the AASB, Lachlan gained extensive professional experience in academia and the private sector. His academic qualifications include a PhD in Accounting and BAcc (Honours, University Medal), and he holds professional designations as a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) and Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia).

Dr. Ao Li

Ao is a highly skilled professional in financial reporting, having completed her PhD at the Australian National University. Since joining the AASB in June 2019, Ao has been involved in a number of domestic projects, such as the removal of special purpose financial statements for certain for-profit private sector entities, the not-for-profit Financial Reporting Framework project, and auditor-engagement-related disclosure. Ao has also been supporting the AASB's involvement in various international projects across various topics, such as leases, goodwill and impairment, and intangibles. Additionally, Ao assists the AASB Research Principal in managing the AASB research program, including the AASB Research Report series and AASB Annual Research Forum.

Dr. Eric Lee

Eric has a wealth of expertise spanning 20 years in academic, Big Four accounting firms and standard-setting roles. He has a proven track record of producing independent analysis and research reports, tackling intricate accounting technical and reporting matters, forming strategies, leading extensive outreach activities, and engaging key stakeholders through various domestic and international presentations. Currently serving as the AASB Research Director, he is the head of research and leads the AASB Research Centre with the primary responsibility to develop, implement and oversee the AASB's research strategies that are coherent with the evidence-based approach to setting standards. He is tasked with initiating and managing research/thought-leadership projects that will inform AASB and international standard-setters about current and future accounting and reporting issues. He also plays a significant role in developing and building relationships with Australian and international researchers, policymakers, and standard setters.

Dr. Jia Wei

Jia joined the AASB in August 2022 and is currently working on the Not-for-profit Financial Reporting Framework project. Jia is also a member of the AASB Research team. Prior to joining the AASB, Jia completed her PhD in accounting from the Australian National University.

Fridrich Housa

Fridrich is a NFP sector lead at Australian Accounting Standards Board bringing his experience across financial control & reporting, accounting policy, audit, advisory, and due diligence services with a range of organisations in both Australia and overseas. Some of his prior roles include Head of Treasury Financial Control at major Australian bank and Account Director at a Big 4 accounting firm advising clients on various aspects of financial reporting. Fridrich also served as the Treasurer at a local not-for-profit environmental organisation (TreeProject), and was the co-founder of a fledgling fintech start-up. Having navigated teams through change and process improvement, he has developed a passion for people leadership and talent development. Outside of work, when he isn't hitting the pavement and going for a run, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.

Greg Rimmer-Hollyman

Greg has over 25 years' leadership experience in developing, implementing, transforming and leading internal audit and risk functions which provided governance and integrity advice for large organisations in various sectors in Australia and South Africa. Greg has worked with numerous boards both in the public and private sector in addition to sitting as an Independent Audit and Risk Committee member for various organisations. Greg has multiple professional qualifications and certifications including, CPA (Australia), Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA), Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Chartered Internal Auditor (CMIIA), Qualification in Internal Audit Leadership (QIAL), Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). His commitment to the internal audit profession has also been recognised internationally through various non-executive leadership appointments to the Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) structure where he has held the non-executive positions of Chairman of the Global IIA's Institute Relations Committee, Chairman of the Public Sector Committee and Vice Chairman of the Global Ethics Committee and was involved as a subject matter expert on recent international guidance provided to public sector auditors. Helena Simkova

The AASB's Acting Technical Director, Helena Simkova, has a wealth of experience in the financial space, having previously worked with PwC in Assurance Services and in the Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting Services, and within the firm's. Additionally, Helena worked as a Senior Corporate Accountant at Telstra at the Statutory Reporting and Policy Group before taking on the role of Senior Project Manager at the AASB, where in 2020 she assumed the role of Acting Technical Director. Helena's industry experience as well as international exposure across Australia, India, and Czech Republic, has given her a high-level of cross-cultural literacy that benefits the AASB in its dealings with both domestic and international stakeholders.

James Grant

James is currently the Chief Financial Officer, Specialist Businesses - Westpac, and has over 20 years of experience in Financial Services. Prior to this role, James was Westpac's Group Financial Controller with oversight of the Group annual and Interim ASX reporting processes, management of the External Audit relationship, and owner of the Financial Control and SOx frameworks. James was also responsible for designing and delivering the Group Accounting policy function including providing technical accounting advice for corporate acquisitions and disposals for the Group. Prior to joining Westpac, James has led Corporate Reporting teams for both the Woolworths Group and Macquarie Group in Australia, and Credit Suisse in London. James has also held accounting advisory roles at both KPMG and PwC. Kimberley Carney

Before joining the AASB in 2018, Kimberley gained extensive experience in professional services firms, where she has spent most of her time in technical accounting roles. Through these roles, Kimberley provided financial reporting and auditing advice to a range of practitioners and entities, including ASX- and NZX-listed entities, private companies, syndicates and not-for-profit entities in Australia and New Zealand. This experience provided Kimberley with a solid understanding of Australian and International Accounting Standards, which has benefited her at the AASB. Since commencing at the AASB, Kimberley has been involved in domestic projects such as the removal of special purpose financial statements for certain for-profit private sector entities and supporting the AASB's involvement in various International projects. Kimberley is currently working on various projects, including the post-implementation reviews of many domestic Australian Accounting Standards.

Patricia Au

Patricia is currently working on a number of public sector projects, including Insurance Contracts for Not-for-Profit Public Sector Entities and Fair Value Measurement for Public Sector Entities. Prior to joining the AASB, Patricia was a principal analyst at NSW Treasury and NSW Ministry of Health where she was responsible for providing technical advice on complex accounting issues. There, Patricia gained knowledge of the Australian public sector and developed strong technical and analytical skills. Patricia has previously worked as an external auditor at KPMG and later became a manager at KPMG's CFO Advisory.

Paul Rogers

Paul is an Audit Partner at KPMG with over 20 years' audit and accounting advisory experience in Australia and the UK. Paul specialises in the audit of real estate companies including developers, contractors and investors. Prof. Carolyn Cordery

Carolyn Cordery was appointed Chair of the New Zealand Accounting Standards Board from 2021, building on her prior regulatory work. She is an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University of Wellington and also holds other honorary and visiting professor positions in the UK and Europe. Much of Carolyn's research is based on international comparisons of not-for-profit organisations' accounting, the impact of their resourcing, and the regulations that define their General Purpose Financial Reports and she is currently a member of the Practitioner Advisory Group of the IFR4NPO project (International Financial Reporting for Non Profit Organisations). Carolyn also researches public sector audit as a means of accountability, has undertaken a number of commissioned research projects, published internationally, and is on the editorial board of a number of academic journals. Prior to joining academia, Carolyn held financial accounting roles in industry and, in the 1990s, was a member of the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Professionally, Carolyn is a Fellow of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Ric De Santi

Siobhan Hammond - CSR

As Director, Siobhan leads the AASB Sustainability Reporting staff in the development of sustainability reporting standard-setting projects. Prior to joining the AASB, Siobhan worked as a project manager at the International Accounting Standards Board where she was responsible for the Definition of Material, Disclosure of Accounting Policies and Extractive Activities projects and assisted on a number of Disclosure Initiative projects. She was also responsible for the delivery of the annual publication of required and issued IFRS Standards. As part of that experience Siobhan developed a strong understanding of international technical accounting and reporting issues and standard-setting.

Stephen Taylor

Stephen Taylor is Professor of Financial Accounting at the UTS Business School. He has previously been Associate Dean-Research (2009-2015) and in 2016 was the inaugural Australian Business Deans' Council Research Scholar. His research has been published in leading international accounting and finance journals. Prior to moving to UTS Stephen held positions at the University of Sydney, the University of Michigan and UNSW. He is currently the Deputy Chair and Chair of the Audit Committee for SIRCA and its commercial off-shoot, Rozetta Limited. He also serves as a director for the Capital Markets Co-Operative Research Centre (CMCRC), as well as Chair of the Audit Committee. Stephen is Academic Advisor to Plato Funds Management and has served as an expert witness on accounting and valuation issues within Australia and overseas.

Toby Langley

Toby leads Xero's investor relations team and is based in Sydney. Listed on the ASX and domiciled in New Zealand, Xero is a global cloud-based accounting and small business platform. Toby has nearly two decades' experience within the fields of accounting, equity research and investor relations. Prior to his current role, Toby was Head of Australian Financials Research at Bank of America. He has also held a number of other senior equity research roles in the UK and in Australia covering the insurance, diversified financials and banking sectors. Toby has contributed to a range of accounting working groups with the IASB and AASB and has been a speaker at various industry events on effective investor communication and financial reporting. Toby is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales and a CFA Charterholder.
