Air King Filtration, Inc. was originally founded in 1978 as Iowa Distributing Co., a distributor of a wide variety of products in the Midwest. Shortly thereafter the first Air King units were developed as the result of ideas shared amongst other business contacts that identified the need for a low cost, high quality option for industrial air cleaners for a variety of end applications. Seeing the demand for this product increase in its' first few years of existence the decision was made to focus solely on the design and production of air cleaners going forward.
