Brenda graduated from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese and Political Science with a focus in International Relations. If Brenda were not at AIM, she would be traveling around South America."

Brooke Thomson is the President & CEO of AIM. Prior to assuming the presidency, Brooke led the Government Affairs team where she was responsible for designing and advancing AIM's policy agenda and strengthening relationships with elected officials and business leaders on Beacon Hill and throughout the commonwealth - all the while ensuring that employer needs were represented at every level of the public policy-making process.
She has successfully expanded the progress AIM has made in diversifying its membership and advancing policies that support both economic competitiveness and economic opportunity for the people of Massachusetts.
Prior to joining AIM's leadership team in 2019, Brooke was a member of the AIM Board of Directors. She also previously served as vice president of Government Affairs for AT&T and is a former senior official with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office.

Chris oversees the complete portfolio of Information Systems and Services, supporting the needs of staff across the association. Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field having held multiple operational and management roles with a significant background in high-profile infrastructure and application-refresh projects. Before joining AIM, he served as Director of IT at the Marine Biological Laboratory and the Rising Tide Charter Public School.
Chris has a number of things he enjoys when he's not working for AIM; golfing, cooking, and playing with his two golden retrievers, Lucy & Brody. And when he's not on the golf course or in the kitchen, you'll find Chris cheering for his daughter and son at the hockey rink or soccer field.

A former reporter and editor at The Republican newspaper in Springfield, Chris brings a background in daily journalism to the job of providing useful intelligence to AIM members through the AIM Pulse e-newsletter, social media and commentary in the public news media.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), Chris is responsible for overseeing AIM's Membership, Events & Communities, HR Solutions, and Information Technology teams. Chris believes in finding unique opportunities to provide value for AIM's 3,400 member companies, which represent diverse industry sectors across the state.
Before joining AIM in 2021, Chris served as Deputy Director for the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, where he worked with CEOs and senior business leader members advocating for state public-policy solutions to strengthen the state's long-term economy and competitiveness.
Before joining AIM, Courtney was the program coordinator in the Office of the Commissioner at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She served mainly as a liaison to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, among other duties.
Throughout her career, Courtney has held administrative positions working for the Vice President of Harvard Library and the University Librarian at Harvard University and, over a decade, served as a legislative aide in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
Courtney is a lifelong resident of Melrose, and received her Bachelor of Science in Social and Cultural Studies from Lesley University in Cambridge.

Hannah is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst with a B.S in Applied Plant and Soil Science and B.A in English. Prior to joining AIM, Hannah was an Undergraduate Research Fellow for the Arthur F. Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies and a Student Advisor in the English Department.
Hannah's event experience includes handling logistics and event setup as a florist and managing and coordinating event speakers at workshops and trainings through agricultural design firms for the past 3 years. If not at AIM, Hannah would likely be skating at her local ice rink or travelling to see the national parks.

Hodan Hashi is the Director of Communications and Community Engagement at Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), where she leads the development and execution of strategic communication, marketing, and member engagement initiatives to support AIM's 3,400+ members and Massachusetts' thriving business ecosystem. She brings expertise in strategic messaging, media relations, and creative digital solutions that drive business growth and foster social change.
Prior to joining AIM, Hodan honed her communications skills in municipal government, serving as Communications Director for Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijeune. She is the co-founder of Black Boston 2020, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing racial inequality in Boston.
Outside of AIM, Hodan channels her passion for storytelling and creativity through photography, freelance writing, and her work as a board member at Artists for Humanity and New Leaders Council's Boston Chapter. She aspires to establish a studio dedicated to empowering adolescents through art, storytelling, and media, giving them the tools to drive social change and amplify their voices.

Prior to joining AIM, Julie worked for Boston Children's Hospital's Human Resources on the Workforce Development team, supporting community workforce training programs and projects. There, she focused on participant recruitment and screening, onboarding and orientation, and success coaching to optimize post-program employment opportunities.
Previous to working at BCH, Julie worked at Boston College for many years. There, she managed the operational and administrative needs of a state-sponsored supported employment program, serving neurodivergent university employees.

Prior to joining AIM, Lisi was Vice President, Administrative Officer, at JDJ Family Office Services where she was responsible for all aspects of JDJ's practice management, including ensuring a consistent and high-quality client-service experience, maximizing internal and external resources, and supporting the client teams. Previously, Lisi was Director of Finance & Operations at The Rashi School, where she oversaw all financial and operational matters. Lisi also served as Director of Finance & Operations at CBRE Econometric Advisors, a business unit of CBRE, where her responsibilities included direct oversight of Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Marketing.

Prior to joining AIM, Sam was the Research Director for the Committee on Labor and Workforce Development in the Massachusetts State Legislature. In 2018, Sam was a staffer for the "Grand Bargain" negotiations, which led to several employment-law and tax reforms. Sam also served as a committee staffer for Chairs John Scibak, Paul Brodeur, and Josh Cutler and as a legislative aide to Representative Ken Gordon.
Sam is from Belmont and received his B.A. in History from Gettysburg College. He earned a Juris Doctorate from New England Law Boston in the evening program.

Prior to joining AIM, Sarah worked in state government relations at Boston Children's Hospital where she advanced legislation to improve pediatric health-care access, early education, and social determinants of health. Stephanie Swanson serves as Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, where she works on AIM's policy and regulatory priorities.
Prior to joining AIM, Stephanie spent more than a decade working on Beacon Hill in the Massachusetts Senate. She served as Chief of Staff and General Counsel to former Senator Eric Lesser, managing a robust legislative and policy portfolio and overseeing both strategic planning and day-to-day operations for the office. During her eight years with Senator Lesser, she worked on major 2018, 2020, and 2022 economic development packages that provided billions of dollars to businesses, communities, and families across the Commonwealth.
Stephanie began her Senate career as Legislative Director and Legal Counsel to Senator Barry Finegold. She assisted Senator Finegold in passing both the 2014 election-reform and campaign- finance reform bills into law. She also worked on Senator Finegold's successful 2012 state senate campaign.
A political science and economics graduate of Tufts University, Stephanie studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science before earning her law degree in 2012 from Northeastern University School of Law. She has been a member of the Massachusetts bar since 2012.
