We are committed to ensuring that our students have the skills to thrive in a sighted world and live independent, productive lives. This requires exceptional educational instruction. Access to specialized materials and equipment, braille books, dedicated and trained teachers, strategically designed spaces and classrooms, life skills training and access to specialized equipment are critical... It is our aim to provide access to the most appropriate ways of enhancing and leveraging the innate talents of each individual and to advocate for their advancement and equity in public and private sectors. This includes enhancing our own facilities as well as constantly leveraging innovation and research to improve programming and explore new opportunities... In 1996, the AJBT established the Aziz Jehan Begum Institute for the blind (AJBI) to formally educate visually impaired children with academic and life skill.
