ALCOM MARINE ELECTRONICS - Key Persons
Amy has been in the Marine Industry since 1981 when she began working in a sail loft for Prindle Catamarans. Over the years, she worked for Pacific Seacraft, Newport Sailing Club, Rip Curl Wetsuits, Pattison Sail Design and most recently the Balboa Angling Club. She also successfully owned and operated her own business, Nautical Promotions for over 20 years providing marketing services for the Marine Industry. She has gone from "stitching to pitching" and we are happy to have her on board as our Office Manager and starting the In-house Marketing Department for Alcom.
She raced Prindle Catamarans, Santana 20s, then moved on to cruising sailboats, powerboats and most recently sportfishing with the Dana Angling Club where she is in charge Communication and Secretary on the Board of Directors.
In her spare time, Amy loves any type of boating including sailing and fishing. She's an adventurous traveler and spends as much time with friends as possible. She's also an excellent cook and loves to read.
Danny started his career apprenticeship with Low Voltage where he learned fiber optics, cable, telephone, security, fire and data installation and repair. He's been in and around the boating industry, most recently working for Newport Harbor Yacht Club where he was a boatman for the club. So far, he's proving to us that he was the right choice for the position of technician.
During his first year with Alcom, Danny studied and received his Basic Electronic Installer Certification from the National Marine Electronics Association. And, in 2017, Danny received his Advanced Marine Electronics installer certification and has proven a valuable asset to the Alcom Team.
Before joining Alcom, Jesse worked as an Avionics technician on corporate and private aircraft. He then made the switch from air to sea in 2003, where he has become specialized in just about every sector that exists in the Marine Electronics realm.
Jesse's certifications and qualifications include being an Advanced Marine Electronics installer, a certified installer and technician for Raymarine, Furuno, B&G, Simrad, Navico, Flir, KVH, SeaTel and Intellian. He also holds an FCC license, in addition to a handful of other licenses and certifications.
Peter, has grown up in and around the water. His roots in the boating industry began through sailing programs in Newport Harbor and boating with his family since before he could walk. Peter took some time away from the water during his high school and college days, while he played football at Newport Harbor HS and then the University of Redlands. During and after that time, Peter worked at Hill's Boat Service for 8 and a half years, while also working at Alcom for 2 summers.
After his graduation and completion of a Business degree from Redlands, Peter came back to his roots of sailing and being on the water when he represented the USA and competed in the 2013 Red Bull Youth America's Cup and most recently completed his first Transpac aboard the Rio100.
Since then, Peter has been fortunate to compete in high level sailing events, while also enjoying his favorite activities of bodysurfing, boating, and watching sports.
Robert, a 4th generation Southern Californian, got his start in the Marine Industry at Pacific Rigging while attending Newport Harbor High School. During his college years, Robert earned a Business degree from USC and worked for Balboa Marine Hardware, where he became an outside salesman in 1980. In 1981, he left Balboa Marine to sail competitively in numerous classes, both inshore and offshore. Some of his accomplishments include winning the 1983 Soling World Championships, as well as the 1985 Star North American Championships.
Robert then joined Morgan Yachts in 1983 and spent two years in the Boat Building Industry. In 1985, he entered the Electronics side of the Marine Industry at Rochester Instruments. This led to 5 years at Durgan, Wake and Associates, before heading over to Alcom in 1990. He joined Alcom in September of 1990 and bought out Tom Rosnagle in 1993.
Today, Robert is still active in yacht racing, often competing in his Harbor 20 and Team Racing for Newport Harbor Yacht Club where he also participates in running various races or regattas.
