ANTELOPE DANCE - Key Persons

Liz Buchanan

Liz Buchanan specializes in creative ways to teach music and make connections to learning and development in early childhood, from infancy through age six. After many years working with schools, preschools, libraries and other community groups in Massachusetts, Liz moved to Burlington, Vermont in 2021. She currently offers a musical storytime at 10:30 on Thursday mornings at the Pierson Library in Shelburne, Vermont. She also teaches swimming to infants and young children at Burlington's Y, filling the class with songs and movement activities. She has led many workshops and classes for adults on topics such as Integrating the Arts into Learning and Music & Literacy in Early Childhood. Liz has an astounding ability to enrich the lives of children and caregivers. So many come to enjoy her interactive program that includes early literacy, finger plays, books, song and dance. Liz radiates thoughtfulness, is inclusive, relevant and gentle. Our son has been going to her program since he was three months old and is responding profoundly well. We've seen positive growth in his ability to focus, use expression, move and engage successfully in a group setting (to name a few) - thanks to Liz's art of humanity, creativity and connection. Not only does Liz help our son learn and grow but us as new parents - her program is invaluable.
