Dr. Joel P. Wiesen

Dr. Joel P. Wiesen, our founder and principal consultant, has over twenty years of experience developing and validating tests in both the private and public sectors. None of his tests have been challenged in court. He has served as an expert witness in employment discrimination lawsuits concerning tests developed by others, including one case that went to the U.S. Supreme Court. For a number of years he headed the Massachusetts state civil service testing program. He also served as president of the IPMA Assessment Council, a group of over 500 personnel assessment specialists. Dr. Wiesen has a doctoral degree in Psychology from Lehigh University and is a licensed psychologist. Dr. Wiesen is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Society. Dr. Wiesen has been a Lecturer at both Northeastern University and Lesley College and has published papers and chapters in books on test validation and test fairness.
