Amanda Summers is a litigation paralegal with over 15 years experience. She assists the firm's railroad, long term care and medical malpractice litigation attorneys with investigation, research, document review, document management and production, electronic case filing, expert procurement, expert meetings, and trial preparation and attendance for numerous medical malpractice defense and railroad defense cases.
Amanda earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.
Anne Stalder Nelson was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1992 and concentrates her practice in the areas of Long Term Care and Medical Malpractice Litigation. Among other things, Ms. Nelson has extensive experience overseeing national long term care cases (including skilled living, assisted living, independent living and rehabilitation facilities), analyzing and making recommendations in the areas of potential liability, anticipated verdict and settlement values and defense strategy; as well as directly representing Illinois long term care facilities. The cases Ms. Nelson has defended are cases involving a wide range of allegations, including falls, prevention and treatment of wounds, dehydration and malnutrition, sepsis, physical and sexual abuse, improper use of restraints, elopement, inadequate pain control, medication errors, choking, premises liability, and failure to observe and/or notify physician of significant changes in condition.

Anne Bohnert earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. Upon graduation she began her career as a nurse at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. She then received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of Law where she also earned a Certificate in Health Law. While attending law school, she also worked as a paralegal at Anderson, Rasor & Partners.

Celeste Elsey was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2021. She joined Anderson Rasor and Partners in 2021 as an associate attorney. Since 2013 Ms. Elsey has been a registered nurse. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Loyola University of Chicago. Her prior career as a nurse included both clinical and administrative nursing roles. She remained in a nursing role and continued her nursing career throughout her legal education. She later received her Juris Doctorate from DePaul College of Law where she also received a Certificate in Health Law.

Christopher Heery focuses on helping clients navigate challenging questions of commercial, constitutional, and regulatory law. His practice focuses on compliance, complex commercial litigation, and corporate internal investigations. He has extensive experience in defending all aspects of commercial litigation in state and federal court, as well as resolving legal issues on appeal. He has defended corporations in a wide range of matters involving business tort disputes, healthcare liability, contract disputes, and defending against allegations of fraud. He is well-versed in all aspects of litigation strategy, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and resolving matters at mediation, arbitration, and trial.
In addition to his civil practice, he has represented individuals and companies in government investigations and complex criminal cases in federal courts throughout the country. He has defended client at the investigation, trial, and sentencing stages of federal criminal cases. His experiences in federal criminal cases include fraud, bribery, tax offenses, Foreign Military Financing violations, and criminal Antitrust. He has also briefed criminal appeals submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Prior to entering private practice, Christopher served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Illinois. While working in the General Crimes Bureau he handled matters involving fraud, extortion, false statements, and national security crimes. He also worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles Kocoras of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Jason A. Parson was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1989 and now concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Medical and Healthcare Litigation, Medical Malpractice Defense, Healthcare Counseling, Commercial Litigation, and Staff Privileging Disputes.
He represents healthcare providers and other entities before various state (IDPH, IDF&PR, IDHFS) and federal (HHS, DOL, DOJ, HCFA) administrative agencies (investigations, audits, complaints, and hearings).
He regularly counsels healthcare institutions regarding a wide variety of matters, such as compliance with state and federal laws, patient rights issues, privacy and privilege issues, consent, contractual issues, and medical staff privilege procedures.
He frequently represents hospitals, medical staffs, and individual physicians in staff privilege disputes and has served both as a hearing officer and as counsel to appellate committees in staff privileging matters, as well as handling civil litigation arising out of credentialing disputes.
His experience also includes all aspects of the defense of medical malpractice and medical products lawsuits and premises liability claims, as well as federal statutory actions, civil rights, and employment discrimination areas of the law. Born in Madisonville, Kentucky, Mr. Parson earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Indianapolis in 1985 and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1988, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Washington University Law Quarterly. Jason served as law clerk to the Hon. John F. Nangle, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, from 1988 to1990 before undertaking the private practice of law. Before forming Anderson, Rasor & Partners, LLP, he practiced at Lord, Bissell & Brook in Chicago. Jennie Miskell concentrates her practice in civil litigation with a focus on medical malpractice defense and long-term care, representing physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare providers in a variety of specialties.
Ms. Miskell has considerable experience in all phases of litigation from pre-suit investigation up to and including trial. Prior to joining Anderson Rasor & Partners, LLP, Ms. Miskell worked at other prominent Chicago firms where she gained extensive experience in a variety of complex and catastrophic injury cases including railroad-related personal injury cases filed under the Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA), auto and trucking accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) cases.

Ms. DeLeon earned her B.A. in History and Legal Studies from Northwestern University in 2010 and her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014. During law school, Ms. DeLeon was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and a finalist in the Charles Evans Hughes Moot Court Competition. She was also the recipient of the CALI award for outstanding legal writing, and earned a 4.0 GPA in trial advocacy and appellate advocacy courses. Ms. DeLeon additionally served as an editor of the Seventh Circuit Review, a law journal dedicated to examining relevant issues addressed by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. DeLeon's practice focuses primarily on medical malpractice, railroad litigation, toxic tort litigation, and general liability defense. She has extensive experience handling cases involving serious personal injuries, such as paralysis, brain damage, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), systemic infections, psychiatric injuries, permanent neurological disorders, cerebrovascular accidents, bowel perforations, and several different types of cancers. Ms. DeLeon's experience extends to all phases of litigation, including appellate advocacy and multiple jury trials.
Ms. DeLeon is a 2017 graduate of the International Associate of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy, one of the oldest and most respected programs for developing defense trial advocacy skills. Lisa M. Green is a recent addition to the ARP team. She brings more than 30 years of trial practice and over 25 years of medical malpractice defense litigation experience. Lisa began her career in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and the Oakland County (Michigan) Prosecutor's Office where she gained invaluable bench and jury trial experience prosecuting criminal cases. In the mid-1990's, she entered private practice in Detroit, devoting her professional time almost exclusively to the defense of medical professionals accused of negligence. Since coming to Chicago in 1998, she has defended and closed complex claims of medical negligence against physicians, physician practices and hospitals. She has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in the Circuit Courts of Cook, Lake and DuPage Counties.
"Every claim presents its own unique opportunities for defense," says Lisa. "It may be factual, legal or medical. It is the job of the defense lawyer to exploit the facts, law or medicine to her client's best advantage."
Ms. Green received her law degree from Temple University School of Law in 1987. She holds an undergraduate degree in history from Drew University. Lori Burk is a registered nurse, and actively works in the medical intensive care unit at one of Chicago's major medical centers. The majority of Lori's nursing career has been in critical care, and she also has experience in the operating room and with behavioral health. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Elmhurst College. Lori is transitioning from the clinical setting to the field of medical malpractice defense. Her focus is reviewing and analyzing medical records.
Lucia Vail was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2022 and concentrates her practice of law in the firm's areas of Medical Malpractice, Long Term Care, Personal Injury, and Premises Liability Litigation. Lucia previously worked as a litigation attorney with a Chicago law firm. Before that, she worked as an associate at a law firm in Washington, DC.
Originally from Olympia, Washington, Lucia earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Gonzaga University in 2017, with Honors. During her time at Gonzaga University, Lucia was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Upon graduation she moved to Washington, DC. Mark J. Lura was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1986 and now concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Medical Malpractice Litigation, Hospital Liability Defense and Nursing Home Negligence. Mr. Lura was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Lincoln Christian College in 1974. Mr. Lura received his M.Div., cum laude, from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1978, and received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, with distinction, in 1986. Following graduation, Mr. Lura clerked for the Honorable Harry D. Strouse, Jr., and the Honorable Lawrence D. Inglis of the Illinois Second District Appellate Court.
Mr. Lura has tried numerous cases to verdict. All have been in Cook County and have been medical malpractice cases. These trials have primarily been cases involving catastrophic injury. Mr. Gill concentrates his practice in Railroad, General Tort, Medical Malpractice, and Civil Rights Litigation (Section 1983), as well as civil litigation, generally in state and federal courts. Mr. Gill is well versed in the strategic liability concerns facing the convenience store industry. Her final years in the intensive care unit combined clinical nursing with management duties which included staff development and review, quality assurance, and development of policy and procedure protocols. After ten years practicing critical care nursing, she broadened her experience by running an office for a small group of general surgeons. When several groups merged their practices, Patty became responsible for the group's billing, coding of the operative reports as well as insurance review. The group included specialists in bariatric, endocrine, breast, melanoma, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach and colorectal surgery. After thirty plus years in the clinical setting, Patty changed her focus to working in the field of medical malpractice defense. She now applies her wide range of nursing experience and medical knowledge to medical records analysis and review. When she is not reviewing medical records, Patty can be found mountain biking in the Palos woods or playing tennis and platform tennis throughout the Chicagoland area.

Dennis Rasor, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on June 29, 2022 at home in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Dennis graduated Salutatorian from Warsaw Community High School and obtained a degree in economics from DePauw University, where he was a Rector Scholar, inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and a proud member of Sigma Chi. After earning his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, Dennis embarked upon a long and successful career as a medical malpractice defense attorney. He started at Lord, Bissell & Brook, where he was made a partner and practiced for many years before launching the firm, Anderson, Rasor & Partners, with his colleagues, from which he retired one year ago. Dennis was a renowned trial attorney, known for his honor, high ethics, and brilliant legal mind. Over the course of his forty-eight year career, Dennis tried more than one hundred cases to verdict, earning his place as one of the leading courtroom advocates in Chicago - and the thanks and respect of his many clients.
Sandra Iorio was admitted to the Bars of Illinois, Wisconsin, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and Eastern District of Wisconsin in 1994. She graduated from Marquette University in 1991, Delta Phi Alpha, and received her J.D. from Marquette University cum laude in 1994, where she was awarded the American Jurisprudence Awards for Federal Courts and Conflict of Laws. She was a judicial clerk for the Hon. Jennifer Duncan-Brice in the Circuit Court of Cook County prior to starting her litigation career.
Ms. Iorio was previously selected on of the "40 Under 40" attorneys to watch in Illinois, as well as a Leading Lawyer annually since 2016.

Shaan Trivedi is a 3L law student at DePaul University College of Law and will graduate in May 2024. Shaan has previously worked as a law clerk at property tax appeal and civil defense firms. Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Shaan attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he acquired an undergraduate degree in Business Data Analytics. He is passionate about being a mentor and leader for younger students. In his free time, Shaan enjoys traveling, reading, and physical exercise.
Susan Laing concentrates her practice in Railroad, General Tort and Civil Rights Litigation (including actions brought under Title VII and Section 1983), as well as appeals in the state and federal courts. She was admitted to the Bar of Illinois in 1992, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, in 1992, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, in 1996, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois, in 1997 and the U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois, in 2001. In recent years, she has successfully tried cases ranging from FELA claims to wrongful death and survival claims arising out of grade crossing accidents and derailments, as well as civil rights claims alleging false arrest and excessive force and Title VII claims of discrimination and retaliation.
Born in Lorain, Ohio, Ms. Laing earned her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1983, her M.M. from Northwestern University in 1984, and her J.D., with honors, from DePaul University in 1992, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and awarded the American Jurisprudence Awards in Product Liability and Criminal Procedure.
Ms. Laing serves on the national executive committee for the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, and has additionally given presentations to the national organization on deposing and cross-examining expert witnesses as well as successfully excluding them under both Daubert and Frye. Since 2009, she has been recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer (top 5%) in the area of transportation, and has been recognized by her peers as a Leading Lawyer in that field since 2014.
Walker Dillon is a law student with a professional background in the insurance industry. Because of his experience in the insurance world, many legal concepts are familiar to him: liability, indemnity, contract interpretation, and complex chains of causation. Walker studied in his hometown of Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Political Science. After graduation, Walker earned his State Producer's licenses in Property/Casualty and Life insurance and has since worked in Property Claim Preparation, Risk Management, Claims Analysis, and Reinsurance. On a personal level, Walker is an avid cook, musician, reader, and moviegoer. He cooked alongside Michelin Star-winning chefs in fine dining restaurants throughout college. William C. Anderson, III, was admitted to the Bars of Delaware and the U.S. District Court, District of Delaware, in 1975, as well as the Bars of Illinois and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois in 1979 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1989. His areas of practice include Hospital Defense and Medical Malpractice as well as other tort defense and commercial litigation. Mr. Anderson has also served as supervisory Counsel for various excess insurance programs; he has also successfully defended sexual harassment claims. Most recently, Mr. Anderson was honored to be included in the Chicago Lawyer's list of "Top 20 Tort Defense Attorneys" and has consistently been recognized by the "Leading Lawyers Network."
Mr. Anderson received his A.B. from Georgetown University in 1969 and his J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University in 1975. Mr. Anderson is a Member and former Board Member of the Society of Trial Lawyers and was elected a Fellow in The American College of Trial Lawyers in 1996.
Distinctions include: Commissioned Service in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972; Order of the Coif. Staff Member, 1973-1974 and Case & Comment Editor, 1974-1975, Villanova Law Review; Member, Editorial Board, Defense Counsel Journal, 1987, 1988-1991; and Fellow, The American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Anderson is also the author of a number of professional publications appearing in the John Marshall Law Review, The Loyola University of Chicago Law Journal and the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law among others. He has also contributed chapters to publications of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
Mr. Anderson has served as President of the Board of Directors for Epilepsy Services of Northeastern Illinois and on the Board of Advisors of the Cabrini-Green Legal Aid Clinic. In 2010, Mr. Anderson was made a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
