Alisa Nagano

With almost two decades of experience at ARC, Alisa is passionate about creating smart, health-forward solutions that transform both the built environment and the world-at-large. She is head of ARC's Sustainability Committee which is leading efforts to inspire and support the firm's project teams towards a regenerative future and to put the firm on track to meet the AIA 2030 Commitment to carbon-neutral building. Alisa plays an instrumental role in the firm's independent school practice, bringing a thoughtful and inventive approach to each project. She excels at collaborating with academic institutions, listening and responding to the unique needs of multiple stakeholders and user groups. Her design vision puts people at its heart, and she strives to create spaces that excite and inspire the people who inhabit them.

Andrew Larson

For Andrew, the most rewarding part of his work is the client's reaction upon seeing a design concept for the first time. He enjoys working with user groups to understand their needs and desires, and engaging in the design iteration process that leads to an elegant solution for that project's specific needs. Andrew's experience includes complex renovation and new construction work, including projects at the Woburn Public Library and the Massachusetts State Senate Chamber.

Carolyn Lowell

For Carolyn, a building is a puzzle. She enjoys projects with complex, varying constraints that require problem-solving and critical thinking to solve. Carolyn believes that empathy for the building users' needs balanced with excellent attention to detail are key to good design. As a former math teacher and with a passion for health and wellness, Carolyn brings unique insight to the firm's educational and wellness sector projects. In both pursuits, she has demonstrated her ability to communicate complex ideas through a combination of compelling visuals and clear language.

Chay Phelps

Chay brings a love for space making, model fabrication, and innovative forms of representation to his work. He is passionate about the creation process of physical and digital representation and seeks to find unique ways to transform architectural thinking into works of art. Chay enjoys developing spaces with the flexibility to evolve within their environments and that aid in the growth of sustainable design.

Don Knowles

With over two decades of industry experience and a deep understanding of design process requirements, Don is responsible for leading ARC's information technology efforts and continued growth in the digital space. He supports staff at every level with technology tools and training, and focuses on seamlessly and effortlessly integrating software and hardware into the design process. His work empowers ARC designers to produce work that delivers exceptional outcomes.

Elaina Burke

A big-picture thinker as well as an interior designer, Elaina is drawn to projects that are about fostering inclusive, flexible, and uplifting environments. She leverages her background in executive education and training to make use of design tools that excite clients about a project's possibilities, then refine each design collaboratively into a successful final product. Elaina's particular strength lies in solving multifaceted puzzles and driving design processes forward on a tight schedule. With a keen sensibility for context and environment, she is focused on creating sustainable spaces that bring people joy, improve their overall mindset, and enhance their quality of life.

Emmett Maguire

Emmett values the documentation of the design and construction process and finds it rewarding to see a project through from start to finish. He enjoys design iteration, creating process sketches, and engaging in adaptive re-use projects. A digital and musical creative, Emmett's artistic background was influenced by parents with careers in design and landscape architecture.

Jan Taylor

I didn't start my career as an architect, but I should have better read the signs. I'm most fulfilled by a balance of the creative and the analytical. When I went back to school to study architecture, I knew I'd made the right decision.

Juliana Iarrobino

Being highly attuned to the feelings of others, Juliana is an empath who began her studies in Art Therapy. This led her to discover the importance of holistic design and how individual spaces, materials, and design elements create an environment. Recognizing that environments affect people psychologically, Juliana became interested in utilizing art through interiors to create experiences that positively impact an individual's overall well-being.

Kayleigh McCabe

Kayleigh is an advocate of designing exceptional spaces that complement the environment. She is passionate about working with communities, hearing their thoughts and ideas, and providing them with spaces to come together and grow. Kayleigh's love of art and background as a watercolorist helped her to her skills in drawing and design from a young age.

Michael DelValle

Some of Michael's most notable projects include Concord-Carlisle High School, Converse Design Lab, 399 Binney Street, and Rosemary Pool and Bath House. A mainstay on the dean's list in college, Michael was the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships at Roger Williams University, including the Thesis Design Award and the AIA Henry Adams Medal for the top ranking graduating student.

Michelle Cardoza

Michelle's 20+ years of human resource management experience and passion for people make her an invaluable member of the ARC team. A solution-driven, action-oriented leader and veteran of the professional services industry, she is also an exceptional listener-a skill that empowers her to support the growth, development, and engagement of ARC's staff. Before joining ARC, Michelle spent 14 years as the Director of Human Resources for a global communications agency. Relishing the opportunity to work as part of a talented, caring, intelligent team each day, she fosters a rewarding and stimulating professional environment for ARC employees that furthers their ability to achieve their professional goals.

Philip Laird

Philip served as the Chair of the National AIA Committee on Design in 2016 and Chaired the Design Conference in Havana Cuba. In 2017, he was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in recognition of his work with educational institutions.
