David G. Helfrich - President

From humble beginnings working on a farm in Oregon to serving in the United States Air Force, David brings a rock-solid worth ethic and sense of integrity to everything he does - especially his role as Owner of Avenue Title Group. "I earned an Air Force ROTC scholarship to study mathematics and business at the University of Portland in Oregon," says David. "I knew after my military service that I wanted to go to law school." David entered the United States Air Force as a lieutenant in 1994, and he served for more than five years as a personnel and administrative officer. After his service, he joined Pardoe Real Estate as an agent in 1999, and shortly thereafter joined the prestigious Sotheby's affiliate, Washington Fine Properties. He met Avenue Title Group founder David Jenks in 1997, and began working full time with Avenue Settlement Corporation in 1999 while completing his law degree. He handles transactions in every jurisdiction Avenue is licensed in addition to running all facets of Avenue Title Group's offices. "We stand behind our work, 100%," explains David. "We're knowledgeable, capable, and we minimize circumstances that would cause serious trouble in the future." When he isn't running the show at Avenue, David enjoys making time for friends, travel and fitness, as well as settling into fatherhood.

Philip D. Rosenman

Originally from Michigan, Phil moved to DC in 2006 following stints in Ithaca, NY and Pittsburgh, PA for college and law school. Phil joined Avenue Title Group in April 2018. With prior experience as an environmental lawyer, Phil decided to combine his interest with real estate and law become a real estate attorney. In the short time he has been with Avenue, he has learned all aspects of the closing process in both residential and commercial real estate. Phil hit the ground running and has exceeded all expectations in a new, complex field of law. When he is not experiencing the life of a new father tending to his son, Phil enjoys playing hockey, softball and golf along with supporting the Washington Nationals.

Stephen M. Ballard

Stephen is an attorney in the District of Columbia with over 15-years experience in local and Federal government relations, real property law and land use, project finance and administration, commercial and residential real estate sales, and marketing and sales management. He is currently an independant contract attorney with Avenue Settlement Corporation in Washington, D.C., where he provides condominium conversion/creation services to clients and the DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs and the Housing Regulation Administration. Mr. Ballard was formerly in-house counsel for HCR, a healthcare consulting firm specializing in program development, service delivery and legislative and policy analysis. His expertise includes zoning, planning, land use, historic preservation, landlord and tenant law, association management and condominium conversions. In 2001, Mr. Ballard was named a director of the nonprofit Development Corporation of Columbia Heights, where he served on the Housing and Community Development and Resource Development Committees. He is an experienced former owner and manager of residential rental property in the District of Columbia, and since 2005 the owner and manager of Annefield Vineyards, a farm winery in Charlotte County, Virginia. In 2009 he was elected director and vice president of the Southern Virginia Wine Trail Association. Mr. Ballard is admitted to the Bar in California and the District of Columbia, and he is a licensed title insurance agent in Maryland, Pennsylvania (inactive), Virginia and the District of Columbia. Stephen originally worked with Avenue Title Group in 1998, left to work at another title company and rejoined Avenue in 2014.

Z. Lynn Glynn

With more than 26 years of experience in the title industry, it can easily be said that Lynn knows everyone and everyone knows (and loves) Lynn. Her wealth of knowledge, extraordinary customer service and gracious attitude exemplify everything that makes Avenue great. Lynn joined Avenue in 2003 as a senior title processor and rose quickly through the ranks to become its Office Manager. She devotes her efforts to facilitating smooth closings and ensuring quick resolutions to even the most difficult title issues. "I enjoy the challenge of thinking outside the box and finding solutions." says Lynn. "Title insurance protects one of the largest, most important investments people make. Unlike any other insurance, it protects against the things we cannot see. Be it unknown heirs, mis-indexed and missing documents, forged instruments or lost lenders -the list goes on." Lynn is a licensed title processor in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. She enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
