Xiaoming Mao,graduated from Central South University of Technology in 1995, and received a PhD degree in iron and steel metallurgy in 2014. He joined Baosteel in 1995 and has been engaged in iron and steel metallurgy production for many years, serving as the manager of sintering plant and blast furnace plant. Since 2012, his main role has been transformed into leading the research of Baowu iron making technology , especially in the field of low carbon metallurgy technology. He has served as the director of the Institute of Iron Making Technology and the assistant director of Central Research Institute. Now he is the vice president of Central Research Institute and the executive deputy director of the Low Carbon Metallurgy Innovation Center.

Geoff Wang

Professor Geoff Wang is currently EAIT Faculty Director of China Research Partnership in the University of Queensland (UQ). He received his PhD in Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering from the Northeastern University, Shenyang, China in 1990, focusing on iron- and steel-making. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Iron-making Branch of the Chinese Society for Metal (CSM) before joined the UQ in 1996. He was a visiting academic at the School of Materials Science in University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 1995-1996. He has been a lead researcher in modeling and simulation of the Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering processes, and has significantly contributed to the research areas of coal utilization, coalbed methane (CBM) recovery, iron- and steel-making technology development, environmental sustainability such as carbon dioxide capture and utilization including CO 2-sequestration. Over period of his academic career development, Professor Wang has established the strong collaborations with a number of Iron and Steel companies in China and Australia, and has extensive links with Baosteel - one of largest iron and steel companies in the world, and universities and research institutions both in China and Australia.

Gursel Alici

Gursel Alici received the Ph.D. degree in robotics from the Department of Engineering Science, Oxford University, Oxford, U.K., in 1994. He is currently a Senior Professor at the University of Wollongong, Australia, where he holds the position of Executive Dean for the Faculty of Engineering Information Sciences. Prior to this, he was the Head of the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering during 2011-2021. His research interests are soft robotics, system dynamics and control, robotic drug delivery systems, novel actuation concepts for biomechatronic applications, robotic mechanisms and manipulation systems, soft and smart actuators and sensors, prosthetic devices, and and medical robotics. He has generated more than 350 refereed publications, and delivered numerous invited seminars and keynote talks on his areas of research. Prof. Alici is a Senior Editor of the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, as of January 1, 2020. He was a Technical Editor of the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics during 2008-2012. He was a Technical Editor of the IEEE Access, the first IEEE open access journal with interdisciplinary scope, since this journal's start in 2013 until January 2020. He was a Member of the Mechatronics National Panel formed by the Institution of Engineers, Australia, until 2017, for 10 years. He has served on the international program committees of numerous IEEE/ASME International Conferences on Robotics and Mechatronics. He was the General Chair of the 2013 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics held in Wollongong, Australia. He is the leader of Soft Robotics for Prosthetic Devices theme of the ARC Center of Excellence for Electromaterials Science. He received the Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning Award in 2010, the Vice-Chancellor's Interdisciplinary Research Excellence Award in 2013, and Vice-Chancellor's Award for Research Supervision in 2018 from the University of Wollongong. He has held a visiting professorship position at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) (2007, 2010), City University of Hong Kong (2014), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) (2015), and University of British Columbia, Canada (2019).

Mr Paul Nicholls

Paul completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Neuroanatomy at the University of Western Australia and a Diploma Education (Science/Computing) in 1993 before teaching in regional WA for two years. Following this, he joined Telstra Mobilenet leading a customer service team from 1996 -1998 before joining Convergent Group Asia Pacific in a consulting/project management capacity 1998-1999. Paul joined the Western Australia science centre, Scitech, in 1999 as a project manager in exhibition development before taking on the role of Executive Projects Manager and then Director Science Education Partnerships from 2004 until 2010. In April 2010, Paul joined Curtin University as Director Strategic Projects, Research & Development before being appointed Director Research Partnerships in 2016. In 2022, Paul joined the University of Queensland (UQ) as the Executive Director of Research Partnerships.
