Dr. David R. Nelson has served on Barlow Respiratory Hospital's medical staff since 1991. A board-certified pulmonologist, he provides clinical management and oversight for all professional and administrative activities within Barlow Respiratory Hospital. Dr. Nelson practices full-time at Barlow's Main Campus in Los Angeles and also oversees Barlow's satellite facilities at PIH Health Hospital in Whittier and Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys. Before joining the medical staff at Barlow Respiratory Hospital, Dr. Nelson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley and earned his medical degree at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at USC - Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles. He then went on to complete his Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease at USC - Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles. Dr. Nelson is also Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Los Angeles, California.
