We work to equitably support Berkeley neighborhoods and individuals who live or work in Berkeley to respond to large-scale emergencies. We do this through coalition building, bringing in outside expertise, and sharing experiences... We put on quarterly meetings (generally the fifth Thursday of the month . . . check out our calendar!) on a variety of topics. We work with neighborhoods that are interested in organizing to better prepare for disasters, or ones that have fizzled and want to get going again. We help individuals connect with nearby groups, or those that simply want to better prepare their home. Once a year (in October) we work with others to put on an East Bay Community Emergency Prep Fair. And we work with Berkeley's CERT program to get the word out about how to train to respond to a disaster.
