In addressing individual needs I have found that a balanced approach regarding intervention strategies is most useful. What I mean by a balanced approach is one that focuses on both Body and Mind and, as well as the Mind-Body interaction. To do this I have found after many years of serving clients in clinical settings, that three main intervention strategies will bring optimal results. First, Biofeedback, including EEG Biofeedback (Neurofeedback), directly addresses the interface or interaction of Body and Mind. By gaining an understanding and control of physiological functions in the Body, the individual is both empowered by being able to Self-Regulate (e.g., reduce blood pressure, decrease muscle tension) and by learning how to modify psychological states (e.g., become more attentive, or reduce anxious feelings). The second arm of my clinical approach, includes a new development in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This second approach..
