Alisa Jackson joined our team as a Scheduling Coordinator. She graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor's degree in English and Comprehension. Her personal interest include music, traveling, and event planning. She also enjoys problem solving. Her goal is to use the skills and education acquired to aid in ensuring the growth as well as prosperity of BAI.

Amber Ramirez

Amber Ramirez joined our team as a Billing and Collections Specialist. Prior to joining Behavior Analysis, Inc., she worked several years in the medical field embracing as much experience as possible. When she's not billing she's enjoying capturing moments with her photography skills. She loves to cook and more than anything, eat what she cooks. She's also an Esthetician, so doing facials on the side is another one of her favorite things to do. She is a dog mom and hands on big sister.

Catalina Dimas

Catalina received her Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of South Florida. Her interest in behavior analysis began during a volunteering opportunity at an orphanage for children with special needs. During her graduate studies, Catalina became a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and worked directly with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and developmental delays. She has experience assessing skill levels, developing skill-acquisition programs and implementing behavior-reduction interventions.

Chad Amherst

Chad received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Florida International University. His interests in Applied Behavior Analysis began during his work at Lutheran Services Florida at a Child Welfare Case Manager. Chad is currently pursuing his master's at the Florida Institute of Technology in Applied Behavior Analysis. Chad's coach youth soccer on the weekends and is a volunteer for the Citizens' Climate Lobby.

Cindy Contreras

Cindy Contreras is a Clinical Supervisor at the Florida Autism Treatment Center (Miami location). Cindy started working in the field of ABA in 2017 as a behavioral therapist. Since then, she has worked with children and young adults with autism in various settings including homes, schools, the clinic, and the community. Cindy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on ABA from Florida International University in 2020. Cindy continued her education and obtained a Master's of Science in Counseling with a focus in advanced ABA in 2022 from Nova Southeastern University. A few months later, Cindy acquired her certification and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). As she continues her work in ABA, Cindy looks forward to applying all that she learns towards sharpening the skills she needs to best serve the families she works with. Claudia Whitmarsh

Claudia received her Master's degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida State University. Her interest in behavior analysis began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where she worked as a research assistant in Dr. Vollmer's lab observing treatments for children with problem behaviors and feeding disorders. During her graduate studies, Claudia became a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and worked directly with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She has experience designing behavior reduction programs and implementing skill acquisition procedures. Dr. Mary Knowles

Mary has been working for BAI for over four and one half years. She began her career as an autism therapist and achieved her BCaBA after completing her Bachelor degree in psychology at Florida International University. Mary's positive experiences with her colleagues and the individuals she served at BAI cemented her decision to specialize in ABA and pursue further training. She went on to attend Sage Graduate Schools where she studied under Dr. Dana Reniecke and obtained her Master of Science degree in applied behavior analysis and autism. Mary is currently a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) Clinical Supervisor and the Training Coordinator for the Kendall center. In 2013 she sat on a panel for parent training at the Association for Behavior Analysis International's annual conference in Minneapolis, MN.

Dr. Stephen Starin - CEO, President

Dr. Stephen Starin is the President/CEO and founder of Behavior Analysis, Inc. He is a doctoral-level Behavior Analyst who has more than 30 years experience working with persons with learning disorders and/or severe problem behaviors. Steve began his career in behavior analysis working in a residential school for children with autism in Los Angeles, California. He was promoted to the Director of Treatment and Training after several months where he trained new staff on behavior analysis principles and procedures and oversaw the behavioral treatment of all clients in the program. Steve then went to Western Michigan University, one of the leading graduate training programs in the world, where he studied under Dr. Jack Michael. While at Western Michigan University Steve was chosen to direct the introductory psychology program, where 10 instructors taught more than 1000 students per year. He also conducted and published research in Dr. Michael's Laboratory for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and in Dr. Alan Poling's Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory. The Michigan Psychological Association selected Steve as its Outstanding Student in Psychology in 1987. Later that year he received the Department of Psychology's Research Scholar award and the All-University Research and Creative Scholar awards. After receiving his doctorate in Applied Behavior Analysis in 1988, Steve was chosen to be the District Behavior Analyst in Miami, Florida for the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Service's Developmental Services Program. In this position, he oversaw the behavioral treatment and education of all persons with developmental disabilities in Miami and the Florida Keys. He also taught Behavior Analysis to aspiring teachers in the Educational Psychology department at Florida International University. In 1990, Steve was selected as the Senior Behavior Analyst for the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Service's Developmental Services at the statewide level. Here he oversaw the Behavior Analysis Certification Program (upon which the current Behavior Analysis certification is built), directed the activities of the Florida Peer Review Committee (composed of internationally-recognized experts in behavior analysis), promulgated rules and regulations governing the practice of behavior analysis in the state of Florida and other activities related to the behavioral education and treatment of persons with developmental disabilities. During this time, Steve was also elected President of the Florida Association for Behavior Analysis. In 1993, Steve left state government and established his own consulting firm specializing in treating individuals with serious behavior problems and assisting other agencies providing treatment to person with developmental disabilities. In 1994, he formed Behavior Analysis, Inc. The company, which began with just one employee, has now grown to over 60 employees and is one of the leading behavioral services companies in the world. In addition to serving as the President/CEO of Behavior Analysis, Inc., Steve has taught at several Florida Universities and the University of Nevada at Reno; has published scientific articles in the areas of developmental disabilities, behavioral pharmacology, applied behavior analysis, the experimental analysis of behavior, and philosophical issues relating to behavior analysis; and has served on the board of editors of, and is a referee for, several of the premier behavioral journals including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Analysis of Verbal Behavior. He consults with public and private agencies and provides seminars and workshops throughout the world.

Before joining Behavior Analysis, Inc., she received her associate degree from Ultimate Medical Academy and has spent several years in the medical field working with individuals from ages 5 to older adults in a variety of specialties. When she's not billing, she is spending quality time with her family. She is a dog mom and a die-hard hockey and football fan.

Lilibeth Torres

Lilibeth Torres is a Clinical Supervisor and Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been working with Behavior Analysis Inc. since 2019. At the University of Miami, Lilibeth began working with impoverished youth as a research assistant with Early Head Start. She graduated in the Fall of 2019 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. While working as a behavioral technician, Lilibeth began her Master's coursework at Northeastern University and graduated with a Master's of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis. She obtained her certification as a BCBA in 2022. Since then, Lilibeth has been supervising RBTs, conducting caregiver training, and developing programs for clients. She has a passion to helping each individual reach their own version of independence and happiness.

Maverick VanNortwick

Ms. Krystine Cardenas

Ms. Krystine Cardenas is our our Director of Autism Services. In this capacity she oversees all services provided to clients in our Florida Autism Treatment Centers in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Her primary responsibilities include providing direct behavior analysis services to clients, training and supervising clinical and paraprofessional staff, ensuring our valued customers are satisfied with the services we provide and generally keeping the centers running optimally. Krystine also provides behavior analysis services and consultations to families in South America and the Caribbean. Krystine graduated from Sage Graduate Schools in Troy, New York with a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism. She has worked with a many children with autism and developmental disabilities in numerous capacities for several years. Krystine has experience in verbal behavior programming, skill acquisition, precision teaching, direct instruction and behavior reduction. She has successfully trained teachers and families to use behavior analytic principles to foster functional communication and other skills to help facilitate specific program goals. Krystine is also a member of the Florida Association of Behavior Analysis.

Ms. Robin Hulsey

Ms. Robin Hulsey is, officially, our Client Services Coordinator who works closely with parents on all non-clinical issues. Robin is the longest-standing member of our "BAI family" and has been with us for 23 years. Robin is dedicated and committed to work and provides a supportive and friendly work environment for all. In additional to her myriad duties at Behavior Analysis, Inc. she is the parent of two grown children.

Ms. Sarah Pierce

Ms. Sarah Pierce is the Clinical Supervisor of Behavior Analysis and Therapy (BAT) Inc. in Hillsborough County. Sarah provides training and clinical consultation to all new analysts. In addition, Sarah provides individualized behavioral support services via behavior skills training (BST) to families referred to the Behavioral Education and Therapy (BET) Program. She also conducts parent training courses, through the Parenting for Success (PFS) Program, on behavior management strategies for children who have a history of trauma and abuse and how it impacts their behavior. Sarah received her Master's degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida State University. Her interest in behavior analysis began during her undergraduate studies at Florida State University, where she worked with a young child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who received Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. Sarah's curiosity of the field grew when trained and asked to collect data and implement behavioral analytic procedures in the home of the child. During her graduate studies, she worked in the public school setting as a consultant developing and training school staff to implement behavioral intervention programs with primarily typically functioning children in the elementary school environment. This experience piqued her interest to continue to work with this population which led to her pursuit of working in child welfare via behavior analysis. Sarah has been with Behavior Analysis and Therapy Inc. since 2013. She has had the privilege of working with BAT in both judicial circuits 13 and 20. She has deemed her role with the agency as, "…her dream job…" where she is able to make a long lasting impact on families in the community. Sarah had gained a wealth of knowledge and experience during her time with Behavioral Analysis and Therapy Inc. thus far. She has provided in-home behavior support services to over 400 families through both BET and PFS Programs combined. She has taught over 150 classes on managing the behavior of children ranging between 5 - 17 years old, including teaching one of the pre-service classes on general behavior management taught to foster parents undergoing licensure. She has also served as an expert witness during a court proceeding for a client.

Raquel Aidie

Raquel Aidie is a Clinical Supervisor at the Ft. Lauderdale location of our Florida Autism Treatment Centers. She provides direct verbal behavior, skill acquisition, and behavior reduction services to clients as well as parents. Raquel has worked with various populations including: children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, children with visual impairments, and adults with different mental health disorders. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. She went on to pursue her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis at Nova Southeastern University. During her graduate studies, Raquel worked in the school-setting with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She gained experience implementing behavior reduction strategies in individual and group settings, skill acquisition programs, as well as conducting data analysis. She also gained experience providing training to parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder on what is Applied Behavior Analysis, how it works, and how to implement behavior reduction strategies in the home-setting.

While working as an Autism Therapist, Rebecca decided to go back to school in order to obtain an education focusing on applied behavior analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology.

Sarah Troya

Sarah Troya began her educational journey by studying Psychology in Quito, Ecuador and received a Bachelor of Arts in this field from Universidad San Francisco de Quito, in Ecuador. After beginning her Master of Science in Counseling at Florida International University, she began working with BAI as a Registered Behavior Technician part-time. Realizing it was her true passion in life to assist kids with autism, she then proceeded to complete all her requirements to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. She is now a Clinical Supervisor with our company and is happy to be able to assist families to achieve a better quality of life. Sarah works with her supervisees in homes, at the center and school settings.

Stacy Pamphile

Steven Tuckler

Steven Tuckler has been working with Behavior Analysis, Inc. since 2014 while earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University. In 2016, Steven obtained his certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. As a BCaBA, Steven was able to provide direct treatment to clients and supervise RBT's. Steven has worked in multiple locations including at home, school, and center-based settings. In 2020, Steven earned his Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Sage Colleges, and acquired his certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Steven now works as a Clinical Supervisor at the Dade location where he conducts intake assessments, direct supervision of RBTs, caregiver training, and program development.
