Jim Boyce, the founder of Boyce's Roofing and Repair, got into the roofing business by accident. He moved to California with the intent to go into the ministry full time. In 1986, he joined the staff of a church plant in Roseville, CA. The lead pastor had worked his way through Bible school as a roofing estimator and suggested that Jim pursue that line of work to "pay the bills."
