Dinesh has had a rich career spanning over 35 years working at very senior executive positions in the Hospitality, Aviation and Mixed Use Real Estate industries. He is the co-founding partner of Brand In One Ltd with Valérie. He holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies from the City of London Polytechnic and attended Executive Programmes both at HEC Business School (France) and Cornell University (US). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Mauritius.
With a comprehensive HR background, he set up the Corporate HR office at then Sun Resorts Ltd (now SunLife) in 1995, as the company grew exponentially with a series of back to back hotel openings where he very quickly put his imprint among the Executive team of the group both locally and internationally. He was selected to be part of the opening teams in numerous global hotel openings and operations (Mauritius, UAE, Maldives, Seychelles, Bahamas...) for the luxury hotel brand One&Only Resorts/Kerzner International.
In 2005, he was headhunted to join Air Mauritius, the national airline of Mauritius as Executive Vice-President - Human Resources & Organisational Development at a crucial time in the airline's history. He lead a team which successfully completed a series of long outstanding crucial union agreements with Pilots, Cabin Crew and Ground Staff while setting a future roadmap for the revitalised HR function. He was also part of the core Executive team of the airline and worked very closely with McKinsey Consultants for a much needed transformation programme.
In 2007, he was recruited to become the Chief Operating Officer of Veling Ltd, a niche Aircraft leasing company with offices in Mauritius and UK to oversee the operations where he also crafted the unique concept to full operational launch of the YU Lounge (now Jet Prime) private jets lounge and terminal in Mauritius and St Kitts & Nevis, a one of a kind private jets lounge and services. He is currently, a Board Director at Jet Prime Ltd.
In 2011, he was appointed as a Board Director of the Hospitality Division of the Currimjee Group in Mauritius, before being appointed as the Managing Director in 2014, with hotel developments in Mauritius and Seychelles working with global hotel group Minor Hotels, the hotel operator. There he lead a close knit team that worked on the renovation, reflagging of a 124 rooms resort in Seychelles up to sale and also on the concept, design, construction and successful launch of the first five star Anantara Resort & Villas (164 rooms and 8 Villas) in Mauritius.
Dinesh was born on the tropical island of Mauritius and raised in a family whose history is intricately linked with the independence of his country. He met Valerie during his university studies in London and they both now live in Mauritius. He is deeply inspired by the strong values and ethics passed on by his father, a former Governor-General of Mauritius and one of the highest ranking Civil servant that the country has produced. He clearly understands the intricacies of diplomacy and dealing with high level Government authorities. Dinesh started young in the luxury Hotel business working at the time, with the very best in the industry and developed an acute understanding of customer experience while developing an eye for details. He is a keen and calm listener while being able to analyse a situation very rapidly and offering quick implementable solutions. He has been described as extremely professional in whatever he does and has developed an extensive network of professionals around the world over the years. Dinesh is a performance driven individual while his motto is definitely "Keep Pushing"! He has successfully led a number of cross functional teams in different parts of the world to achieve their company objectives. He enjoys encouraging and coaching young professionals while sharing his experience to always do better. Dinesh has excellent communication skills, is fully bilingual (English & French) and never compromises on his standards. He is actively involved in social community work in his village of Trou d'Eau Douce where he lives. He enjoys reading, international travel with his family and discovering new cultures. He is an avid Formula One motor-racing fan having attended a number of F1 races as guest of one of the main teams.
Valérie holds an MBA from Durham University (England), a BA (Hons) from the City of London Polytechnic (England) and a DUT "Techniques de Commercialisation" from the University of Bordeaux (France). She is now a seasoned professional with over 25 years' experience, both in Europe and in Mauritius.
