Brentwood Baptist Church, Pastor Joe Ratliff is a native of Lumberton, North Carolina. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Morehouse College and both Master's and doctor of divinity degrees from the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta. He was installed as pastor of Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston in February 1980, which has a membership of 12,000. Dr. Ratliff is the first African-American pastor to lead the Union Baptist Association, the largest urban southern Baptist organization in the United States. He is the founding president of the National African-American Fellowship of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Morehouse School of Religion and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the ITC.

Ed Campbell has more than 32 years of electrical engineering experience in the petrochemical, pulp and paper, waste chemical, power and cogeneration industries. LaRence Snowden joined Womack Development & Investment Realtors in January 2002, after spending 14 years in corporate America, primarily within the energy sector (Amoco Corporation, Enron, and Dynegy). During his tenure with these three firms, he served in numerous positions, including deal manager for international energy development and broadband development projects, and vice president of policy development. LaRence brings a depth of knowledge in strategic development and financial analysis while maintaining strong client relationships. Mr. Snowden received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La, his master's degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and his M.P.P (emphasis in strategy development and regulations) from the University of Chicago. Paul Jefferson

Paul Jefferson comes to us from Dallas, Texas, where he resided most of his life. Paul is the proud son of Thomas & the late Davella Jefferson. He has 5 brothers and 2 sisters and is a graduate of Richland College. Prior to joining the staff at the Brentwood Baptist Church, Paul served as an independent Insurance Agent for Allstate, for over 20 years. In this regard, Paul enjoyed the honor of having one of the most successful agencies in the state, where he was honored for his stellar performance and achievements for 11 consecutive years. While an independent insurance agent for Allstate, he had a customer base of 2000 plus and an annual premium base of $2,000,000. Although Paul Jefferson's professional achievements are significant, he derives his greatest pleasure from his role as a mentor and spiritual leader. Paul served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park for over 15 years. Although this was his primary leadership role, Paul also served as the President of the 200 voice Male Chorus and as the Insurance Advisor for the church. Because of his maturity, keen discernment and loyalty, Paul served as a Special Advisor to Senior Pastor, J. Lee Foster. Paul is active in his community, and seeks to make life better for all around him. God blesses all of us with one gift, but Paul Jefferson has been blessed with many gifts. While working in organizations which assisted the elderly with home repairs and maintenance, Paul also managed to coordinate reading programs for some of the local elementary schools in Dallas. He served in with inner-city youths, and he has been active in ministries involving feeding the homeless and African-American health issues. Paul is the proud godfather to Alicia, Jordan, Brandon and Devin. Here at Brentwood Paul serves as the Church Business Administrator. His departments include: Accounting, Human Resources, Administrative Services and The Endowment Program. He is the Facilitator for the Brentwood Community Foundation, Budget Review, Center for Child Development, Federal Credit Union, Scholarship Committee, and Trustees.

Robert Austin

Robert Austin graduated from Grinell College with a degree in zoology and an ROTC commission in 1954. He spent three years in the U.S. Air Force and a year of graduate study at Boston College. Dr. Austin later attended the Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed pediatric residency at the Upstate Medical Center at SUNY-Syracuse in 1967. In 1975, Dr. Austin moved to Houston and established a private practice in General Pediatrics with special interest in sickle cell anemia and helping at-risk teens. With his colleagues, Dr. Austin created a support network for black males and was the first chair of the Child Abuse Prevention Network. In 1992, he received a Barbara Jordan Leadership Award for his work. Dr. Austin is currently directing the Cullen Child and Adolescent Healthcare Center through Texas Children's Pediatric Associates, a subsidiary of Texas Children's Hospital. He is actively involved with several community-based organizations and currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the DeBakey High School for the Health Professions. Additionally, he continues his passion of mentoring over 150 students in colleges and medical schools across the country.

Sharon Edwards is a founding partner of The Cornerstone Consulting Group, Inc whose work largely focuses on adolescent health, strategic-planning and organizational development. She leads the corporate fiscal and administrative functions and directly manages staff and project specific consultants. Prior to founding Cornerstone, Edwards was Senior Associate of the Annie E. Casey foundation in Baltimore, MD. A pharmacist by training at Howard University in Washington, DC, Edwards has significant non-profit management, programmatic and consultant experiences on range of human service, community health and organizational management issues.
