Alejandro is from Guadalajara, Jalisco and moved to the United States in 2006. Alejandro worked in warehousing and powder painting before making the switch to Buckeye Pacific in January 2022. On the weekends, Alejandro likes sightseeing and star gazing while also enjoys going on hikes, going to the gym and playing video games. Alejandro likes the atmosphere of Buckeye Pacific and says the office is full of life!
Former fabricator and machinist form Molalla, joined Buckeye in 2022, enjoy camping and outdoor activities with friends and family
Aubrey completed an internship at Buckeye the summer before his senior year at Oregon State University, and came back to work with us after graduating with honors from the College of Forestry. Aubrey's favorite piece of wisdom? "Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do."
Bill served in the US Navy for 4 years, then attended Oregon State University and graduated in 1990. He is one of the most seasoned traders at Buckeye, with almost 25 years under his belt. Bill loves weekends away at his cabin.

Bill started working in the industry in 1995, and joined Buckeye Pacific in the fall of 2019. Bill has been married to his wife Kate since 1992 and they have quite a circus at home with 5 kids and 3 dogs! He enjoys yoga, a game of football, and dates with Kate. Most importantly, this Gemini is passionate about his work and personal relationships. His longevity and dedication allows him to maneuver through any type of market conditions with his vendors and customers.
Caden is a valuable asset to the moulding department at Buckeye, who joined our company full-time after completing an internship with us in the summer of 2019. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a degree in economics and came back to Buckeye shortly after. Caden has quickly learned the moulding business. Customers and vendors are drawn to his attention to detail and precise communication skills. Interestingly, both Caden and Bill were college quarterbacks in Portland. They feel that college athletics prepared them well for their careers in the wood products industry.
Calvin joined the Buckeye family in 2018. Speaking of family, Calvin is the cousin of another trader in this department, Peyton Carey. Calvin grew up in Bend and studied business and economics at U of O. He loves hiking, traveling, and attending concerts and sporting events. His love of sports extends to the digital world - he plays in a high-stakes fantasy football league with his college buddies.
I was born and raised in Laguna Niguel, California and moved to Oregon earlier last year. I worked in retail before making the switch to Buckeye Pacific in March 2023. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, making new connections and trying new things. I'm very excited for what my future holds in Oregon and with Buckeye!
Dave joined the Buckeye team in 2023 and comes to us with 20+ years of experience in the lumber and millwork industry. A native east coaster, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. You can also find Dave boating in the creeks and hiking the great outdoors.
With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Dave brings expertise to our import industrial department. He has been at Buckeye since 2010. A native Seattleite, he is a University of Washington alum (Go Dawgs!) who enjoys skiing and fishing.
This Roseburg, Oregon native graduated from OSU with degrees in accounting and finance. Eric worked in the banking industry out of college but transferred into sales and has been hooked ever since. He and his wife, Britta, have a mini golden doodle named Cooper. His hobbies include golf, Fantasy Football, camping, and of course enjoying the glorious offerings of PNW microbreweries!
Hunter graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Business Management degree. Shortly after he joined Buckeye in the summer of 2022. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, going to Blazers games, and being outdoors.
We lucked out and snagged Ian from the east coast after he graduated from Binghamton University earlier this year. Ian enjoys travelling (he's been to 13 countries outside the US), sports, and outdoor activities.
A recent graduate of California State University Northridge with a degree in business marketing, Jack started with Buckeye Mats in 2021. Jack makes music and watches sports in his free time.
Jackson earned his degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University in 2021 and joined us at Buckeye shortly after. So far Jackson is enjoying what the Pacific Northwest has to offer, particularly Blazers and Timbers games.
Jake found his way to Buckeye in 2018 through his best friend and fellow trader, Eric. He is a huge sports fan, and regularly enjoys a game of golf or basketball when the Willamette Valley has nice weather. He also has a passion for football. NFL Sundays and Fantasy Football are ways of life for Jake! Aside from sports, he can also be found cooking or BBQing for his roommates.
Jake started at Buckeye as an intern and continued working right out of college. He graduated from the University of Oregon where he studied economics. This Oregonian grew up playing lacrosse where he developed a keen attitude for teamwork. Jake is outdoorsy he enjoys rock climbing, volunteering, and gardening.
A native Oregonian and graduate of Portland State University, Jared is a family man who loves spending time coaching his kids' sports teams and relaxing at the coast. Jared's favorite quote comes from none other than Albert Einstein: "Don't listen to a person who has the answers; listen to the person who has the questions." Solid advice, Al.

If anyone at Buckeye resembles a lumberjack, it's Jesse! This bearded flannel-lover grew up involved in the harvest side of the wood products industry, such as working in lumber mills and fighting forest fires. After obtaining his degree from Linfield College in International Business Economics, with a minor in German Language Studies, Jesse started trading at Buckeye in 2014. He spends his free time outdoors and keeping up his German language fluency.
John received an education degree from Eastern Oregon University in order to become a teacher, and still found his way to Buckeye in 2010. We are lucky to have him! He is a fitness buff who loves golfing, playing basketball, and keeping up with his wife of 19 years and their two children. John's favorite quote: "If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes" - John Wooden.

John joined the Buckeye Mat team in 2015 after spending three years in the crane mat industry. Prior to that, he gained over 10 years of experience buying, selling, grading and installing composite and timber mats. John primarily travels the United States for Buckeye Mats helping customers determine the best options for their matting needs. In addition, John grades mats for Buckeye on buybacks and assists customers with any problems they may have.
Jordan joined the Buckeye Mats team in early 2019 with 5 years of experience as a sales representative in the building materials industry in the Pacific Northwest. Jordan was born and raised in Indiana and attended Indiana University. He moved to Portland in 2011 and has loved every minute of it. He enjoys spending his time away from work playing basketball, golfing, and socializing with friends and family.
This Portland, Oregon native graduated from Portland State University in Supply Chain and Logistics. Joseph worked six years in warehousing and production for a sports apparel company before looking into the great world of importing and compliance. He and his wife, Paige, have a great Pyrenees and a Rottie-Pitbull mix at home, named Zero and Crowley. He enjoys playing video games with his wife and riding his motorcycle.
Buckeye Pacific is very lucky that Josh joined our team in 2019. He boasts many accomplishments, including bachelor's degrees in business and psychology from Oregon State University. He is also an Army infantry veteran. Josh enjoys fishing with his fiance Sydney and their golden retriever Hallie.
Josh joined Buckeye in 2013 and oversees the financial and administrative functions of the business. He began his career at KPMG, LLP and was a Senior Manager within the Audit and Risk Management group focusing on clients within the forest product and technology industries. Josh is a graduate of George Fox Universary with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He is also a licensed CPA in the State of Oregon.
Justin has so much to be proud of - he started as a "cleanup kid" at a wood treating plant in 2001 and is now a successful trader for Buckeye Pacific. In addition to spending time with his wife, 6 children, dogs, chickens, and goldfish, Justin is a true outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking. A nugget of wisdom from Justin: "If you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said."
Karrie's favorite quote pretty much describes her career in a nutshell: "I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have," (Thomas Jefferson). She made the courageous leap from an adminstrative position to sales on a trading floor similar to ours in 2004. Karrie loves lounging on the beach in Hawaii, and is immensely proud of her two daughters she shares with her husband of 25 years.
Lylee had not originally planned to join the lumber industry. She Started off at Utah State University to pursue a career in aerospace. After 2 internships, she decided not to continue her mechanical engineering degree and fell into building a new career in the lumber world. To fully dedicate herself to this new career path she moved from Utah to join the Buckeye team. Lylee Loves Exploring the outdoors with her dog and is now working hard to grow her career as a trader.
Mark has been a part of the of Buckeye Pacific trading team since 1997. He enjoys building relationships with his customers and thrives in the family atmosphere at Buckeye. He's passionate about college football (Go Ducks!) and cruising the Willamette river with his wife.
I graduated from Oregon State University in 2014 with a bachelors in Exercise Science. After spending a couple years in that field and bouncing around to various jobs, I made the transition to Buckeye in June 2022 and have enjoyed the challenge of learning the sales side of the lumber business and working on creating a business in Western spruce. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends, going to the movies, and going to concerts.
Matt Dierdorff Domestic Industrial Matt's 31 years of experience in the lumber industry, coupled with his innovative spirit, make him a solid mainstay of our team. He joined Buckeye in 2008. When he's not in Montana visiting family with his wife Branda and their two kids, an adventurous streak keeps Matt busy with other pursuits - such as scuba diving and skiing. Matt can also be found hunting, fishing, and coaching his childrens' sports teams.
After graduating from the University of Maine in 1992, Matt got his start in the lumber business working for Jim Gillies Lumber in Gray, Maine. In April of 1995, he joined Forest City Trading Group as a lumber trader and eventually became Vice President at Richmond International Forest Products where he spent 20 years. In late 2014, he accepted the President position here at Buckeye and oversees all aspects of the business. Under Matt's leadership, Buckeye has seen significant growth in all aspects of its business and strives each day to provide our suppliers and customers with the best possible service.
Born and raised in Portland, Max is a lover of Trail Blazer's games and golf. He spends a lot of time with family, including two nephews and three nieces, who he hopes to groom to be traders someday. Max says the best part about his job is the camaraderie of the Mats team and the fun he gets to have at work.

After over 5 years working her way up at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters, this Merchandise Marketing graduate joined the Millwork & Moulding team in 2020. Megan is a Portland native and lover of PNW exploration. She is thrilled to be learning more about the lumber industry as she works alongside her dad, Billy Matos.
Michael was born and raised in Camas, WA. He started his lumber career in a local sawmill working his way from laborer to forklift driver and eventually taking his skill set into the reload sector. After 8 years operating and managing reload facilities in Portland, OR and Indianapolis, IN Michael came to Buckeye in 2022. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog Lucy and roaming the woods of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
I was raised in San Diego, CA where spent my time playing basketball, volleyball and surfing. I then went to college at Purdue - Fort Wayne where I played Division I volleyball and studied finance. After college I went overseas to play volleyball professionally in Germany, Romania, Estonia and Spain. I then came back to the US and moved up to Portland to start working here at Buckeye. I spend my free time now working on my golf game and exploring my new home in the Pacific Northwest.
Mike joined Buckeye Mat's in early 2016 bringing plenty of crane mat experience to the department. Prior to that he brings over 22 years of experience in the Industrial Lumber Industry. Mike is very active in his community, and has coached youth sports for over 20 years. He and his wife Julie enjoy spending time and traveling with four children and five grand children. Mike loves the outdoors and when there's any free time, you can find him on the golf course.
Paul is originally from Michigan, where he studied forestry at Michigan State University. He and his wife Lisa relocated to Portland where they have raised 3 children and several dogs. Paul holds the title of the longest-running Buckeye employee, clocking in almost 40 years with the company. He loves playing racquetball, skiing, and spending time with his family, particularly his two young grandsons.

Pete's history with our company goes even further back than his several decade tenure; his father Milan Stoyanov led Buckeye for 13 years before eventually becoming the president of Forest City Trading Group in 1987. Pete adds a lot of liveliness to our trading floor, and his sense of humor has helped define our laid-back company culture. When he's not selling lumber, he likes weekly trips to the farmers' market, and playing tennis with friends.

Peyton is from Roseburg, Oregon. In 2014 he graduated from the University of Oregon, moved to Portland, and started working at Buckeye. His favorite things to do in his free time include cooking, playing golf, and gardening. Among his proudest achievements is that he has stacked an entire box of Jenga pieces on top of 1 vertical piece.
Rich Woodwick Dimensional Lumber Rich has been with Buckeye since 2001. He is an Oregon native, and fittingly loves outdoor activities and exploring the Pacific Northwest. An avid skier, fisherman, camper, and hiker, Rich can usually be found riding his bike during lunch.
Rob joined the Buckeye Mat Team in 2013. He was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and loves calling the Pacific Northwest home. He is very into football and basketball, and is a die-hard Dallas Cowboy and Portland Trailblazer fan. He also enjoys golfing on the weekends as well as spending time with friends and family.
Sarah started at Buckeye in 2016, and joined the Millwork & Moulding department in 2019. She attended University of Oregon for her undergrad, and is now working toward an MBA from Washington State University. Sarah loves traveling, baking, and devouring a good book.
Sawyer joined the Buckeye team in 2022. He grew up in Seaside, OR and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in finance. There are three words that describe Sawyer well: Creative, competitive, and charismatic. What great addition to our thriving company culture!
Spencer's roots with Buckeye and Forest City Trading Group go way back: his father, Jack McKinnon, was the Charmain of the Board of FCTG until his passing in 1989. Jack guided the company through two decades of growth, leading with determination and patience. Spencer joined the family business in 2009, and has certainly made his own mark on Buckeye. His personality and sense of humor bring a lot of life to our trading floor! He is a U of O alum and Duck fanatic, and is a devoted dog-dad to three pooches named Arthur Fonzarelli, Walker Texas Ranger, and Tank.

Steve joined the Buckeye Mats team in 2015 with nine years' experience in the crane mat industry. Prior to that he brings over 20 years of experience trading commodity lumber products. Steve assembled the mat team based on the mission statement, "To provide our customers and suppliers with the very best service, quality and prices available. We believe it all starts with the selection of the team and our core values." Steve played basketball at Hawaii Pacific University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He and his wife Cindy have three daughters and one son. In their free time they enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring new places.
A native Oregonian, Theresa has been in the lumber industry for 20+ years and with Buckeye since 2018. She enjoys the team spirit and fun atmosphere of the Buckeye team. In her spare time she loves hiking in the beautiful Pacific NW and international travel with her husband of 20 years. Theresa has two daughters and two cats.
Tracy joined Buckeye in 2018 with over 15 years of credit management experience in the construction wholesale and distribution industry. She leads the credit department and is responsible for the oversight of our accounts receivables department for the company. Tracy is the proud mother of two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing and watching soccer and being in the outdoors.

Tyler became a part of the Buckeye team in the fall of 2020. He is an Oregon Institute of Technology graduate, where he studied Operations Management and played on their national championship team. He enjoys wake surfing, playing basketball, and going on hikes.
