Upon returning to NZ, Matthew settled in Auckland and started his career in the automotive industry by joining Ford Motor Credit. After a six year stint with FMC, Matthew headed across town to work for the Ford Motor Company of New Zealand where he stayed for six years taking on various roles including Dealer Account Management, Corporate Sponsorship Manager, through to his last position held as Passenger Vehicle and FPV Brand Manager.
In October 2004, Matthew joined Capital City Motors as the Mazda New Vehicle Sales Manager, which he held until being promoted to the CEO & Dealer Principal role in August 2014. Matthew is driven by a strong desire to deliver excellence in customer service to our Ford and Mazda customers.
He is always looking for improvements in our processes so we can ultimately deliver a better customer experience.
In his personal life, Matthew has two children, Harrison and Ruby. When he gets time to himself, he likes to hurl himself down the mountainside on his bike on the many great tracks around Wellington and New Zealand. He is also partial to a nice craft beer around the fantastic bars that the capital city has to offer.
