Miller Welborn

Miller has 25 years of experience in the transportation industry and is a leader in the Southeastern business community. Most recently he served as board chairman of Cornerstone Community Bank and led the organization through the merger with the Knoxville-based SmartFinancial, Inc, creating what is now the largest bank holding company based in East Tennessee. Miller continues to lead SmartFinancial as the board chairman. Miller has also served as the president of Welborn Transport, Boyd Bros. Transportation, and Welborn and Associates, a transportation consulting firm which specializes in truckload operations and mergers and acquisitions. He was a co-founder of the Lamp Post Group, a venture incubator in Chattanooga, TN, where he helped to grow Access America, a transportation and logistics company later acquired by Coyote and then UPS. Miller also serves as Chairman of the Board for Big Oak Ranch, a Christian children's home in Gadsden, Ala., and as an elder at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, where he attends with his wife Karen and three daughters. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Board of Atlanta, Birmingham Branch. Miller attended the University of Alabama where he received his bachelor's in political science and government.
