Angeliki Antoniou

Born in Athens. Studied Architecture, in which she holds a degree in Greece and film (1985-1990) at the DFFB (German Film and Television Academy in Berlin). She works as scriptwriter and director in Germany and in Greece. She lives in Athens and in Berlin.

Angelos Frantzis

Born in 1970 in Athens, Greece. Studied Direction of Cinema in INSAS, Brussels. He made 4 short films in 1992 through 1997: "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?", "Short stories about people and oranges", "Nineteen" and "Hollow world" co-directed with Stratis Vougioukas. He shot his first feature film in 2000, titled "Polaroid". He also works in advertising and writes columns on cinema on various magazines.

Antonis Glaros

Born in 1974. Apart from his studies in Economics and his experience in International Relations, he holds an MA in Video Production, Audio Visual Means and Motion Graphics.

Christos Dimas

Born in 1969. Studied political science at the University of Athens and attended Sources film seminars in Finland and Holland. He has worked as an assistant director on feature films by major Greek directors as well as in the United States. He also worked as scriptwriter and director in the hit Alpha Television series "Red Circle" together with Panos Kokkinopoulos. He is the author of the books "Veronica" (1993), "Acrobats of the Garden" (1995), and "Breath" (2008).

Christos Georgiou

Born in London in 1966 to Greek Cypriot parents, he grew up and completed his basic education in Cyprus. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Warwick in 1989, he worked for a number of television and production companies in the U.K., Cyprus and Greece. In 1993, he received his masters in film directing from Leeds Metropolitan University. A year later, he received a scholarship to study direction at the Polish National Film School in Lodz. His shorts, "Grandmother's Hands", "Jal Uthna", "Tomasz" and, "The Baptism" were selected for broadcast by Channel Four in Britain and screened at various international film festivals, including awards in Drama (Gr.) Tampere (Fin) Chicago (USA).

Costas Lambropoulos

Born in Nemea in 1961, he studied in the Dept. of Sociology, Photography and Scenography of the University of Sophia (Bulgaria). He worked as a producer and an executive producer in many feature films, documentaries, major events, and television series. He is a Member of the European Film Academy.

Jonathan English

Writer, director, and producer for film. His breakthrough came with IRONCLAD in 2011. A hit with critics and at the box office, it is set in the Thirteenth Century against the backdrop of the signing of the Magna Carta and the siege of Rochester castle. He wrote and directed a sequel IRONCLAD 2: BATTLE FOR BLOOD in 2013, starring Michelle Fairley, Tom Austen, and Danny Webb. Prior to this he wrote and directed MINOTAUR starring Tom Hardy, Rutger Hauer and Tony Todd. As a producer, he has worked on films such as A GOOD WOMAN, starring Scarlett Johansson and Helen Hunt, SWEETWATER starring Ed Harris, EMILE starring Ian McKellen and THE POET, starring Dougray Scott. In 2012, he also directed his first stage play in Los Angeles, AMERICAN BUFFALO by David Mamet, which ran for seven weeks at Theatre 68.

Konstantinos Gavras

Konstantinos Gavras (born in Loutra Iraias, Greece), better known as (Constantin) Costa-Gavras, is a Greek-French filmmaker best known for films with overt political themes, most famously the dark, fast-paced thriller, "Z" (1969). Most of his movies were made in French; starting with "Missing" (1982), several were made in English. He has been awarded with the Best Foreign Film Oscar (1969, Z), Best Screenplay Oscar (1982, Missing), Palme d'Or (Cannes International Film Festival, 1982, Missing), Jury Prize (Cannes International Film Festival, 1975, Section Speciale), Golden Bear (Berlin Film Festival, 1990, Music Box).

Kyriakos Katzourakis

Born in Athens in 1944. He studied art in the School of Fine Arts in Greece with G. Moraly and in England at St. Martins School of Art. He also studied set designing at the School of Fine Arts with V. Vasiliadis. In 1968 he was awarded the "Partheni" award. He lived in England during 1972-1985, where in 1976 he organized an exhibition of his work in Serpentine Gallery with the assistance of E. Paolozzi and of Arts Council. He has been working permanently in Greece since 1986. He was one of the establishing members of the group "5 Young Greek Realists". He art directed in the film "To proksenio tis Annas" by P. Voulgaris and he made the costumes in "Meres tou '36", by T. Angelopoulos. He is the manager of the visual laboratory in the Ministry of Culture in the municipality of Aigaleo. He collaborates with the Theatre of Art since 1988 in many plays directed by G. Lazani. He was also an associate to the first production of the chorus "Oktana" in 1993 and to the first stage direction by V. Arditi.

Nikoletta Gouli

Born in Corfu in 1960. She studied graphic arts and film in Athens.

Nikos Anagnostopoulos

Born in Elatia, Greece in 1958. Graduated from the Stavrakos Film School in 1983. He is first and foremost a documentary filmmaker with subjects that refer to contemporary folk tradition as well as basic sectors of the broader Greek civilization. From 1979 to 1981 he worked as a journalist (as artistic and parliamentary reporter) and taught film directing and film history at seminars of the European Community Fund. He has directed more than 50 films.

Nikos Kaloyeropoulos

Taking example from Socrates - the original "gadfly" - Nikos Kaloyeropoulos has devoted his life's work to the unsettling of modern Greek society and its conceptions on how life should be lived and ruled. In addition to being a multi-awarded actor he is a playwright, composer, lyricist, poet and prosaist. In "Riders of Pylos", his first feature film, he summons values and examples from all stages of Greek history, and approaches storytelling with an air of freedom consistent to his main character's values. His awards include two Greek State Awards for Best Actor in a leading role and one for Best Actor in a supporting role as well as the prestigious Greek State Award for Exceptional Performance for his lead in "Rembetiko" by Kostas Ferris.

Stelios Haralambopoulos

Born in Athens in 1956. He studied economics and cinematography in Greece and followed post-graduate studies in Paris. He was the publisher of the art magazine "GRAPHI". Since 1988, co-founder with producer Thanos Lambropoulos and director of photography Yiannis Varvarigos of PERIPLUS, a film and TV production company specializing in creative documentaries. He has made documentaries for Greek public television (ET-1 and NET) and collaborated with European television channels (RAI, LA SEPT/ARTE, CHANNEL 4).

Theo Angelopoulos

Born in Athens in April 1935. He studied law at Athens University and film at the IDHEC in Paris. The films of Theo Angelopoulos have taken part in countless international festivals, won numerous awards and established his reputation.

Vassilis Douvlis

Βorn in Zagori, where he spent his childhood. He completed his basic studies in Ioannina and afterwards, he studied literature and cinematography in Athens and Paris. He is currently working for TV Channel "Vouli". His short film "O Veteranos", which was successfully screened in Athens and many countries abroad, was awarded and honoured not only in Greece, but in international festivals as well.
