Bill Scott

Job Titles:
  • Advisor
Bill Scott, even as a child, has had a fascination with fractals - mathematical graphs or visual representations of chaos theory. It has been through fractal technology that Bill has evolved a growing appreciation for the process of creation and the perfect order of all things created (i.e. chaos theory). It is no wonder that Bill was attracted to EEG biofeedback, the brain being a complex system and brainwaves the communicating interface. Attaching sensors to different parts of the body allows electrical signals to be detected: heart waves are called EKGs, brainwaves are called EEGs. These signals carry important data about the condition and states of these two organs, which in turn can be fed back to these organs, resulting in improved functionality. Bill has been recognized in the field of EEG Biofeedback with accomplishments such as: Yielding an unprecedented 79% success rate with Native American alcoholics as principal investigator and first author of an addiction research project, inclusive of collaboration with Dr. Eugene Peniston. The Psychiatric Times published a feature article interviewing Bill. Improving the musical acumen of students at the Royal Conservatoire the results of the research project has since been incorporated in the school's mandatory curriculum. Contributing a chapter on alpha-theta EEG biofeedback in Jim Robbins' book, "A Symphony in the Brain" Was published in the January 2000 issue of Clinical Electroencephalography (EEG), an official journal of the EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society (ECNS). Presenting at the American Psychiatric Associations annual conference the results of a large controlled study (n=121) on poly drug abusers at CRI-Help. Teaching over 2,000 EEG biofeedback practitioners around the globe since 1996. Contributing to the efforts of Narcotics Division of the American Embassy in South America with the intention of replicating the use of successful protocols in Latin America. Collaborating with Dr. Lobsang Rapgay (Director of the UCLA Biobehavioral Medical Clinic) as co-investigator of a study on BrainPaint's effect on Attention Deficit Disorder at U.C.L.A.'s Neuropsychiatric Institute. Enter BrainPaint. Seeking a more effective medium to provide feedback to the brain, Bill married his understanding of fractal technology with his understanding of EEGs. Just as in chaos theory, BrainPaint gives the brain a playground with which to manipulate three objects, subsequently forming infinite patterns and beautiful fractal images. The adage, hindsight is 20/20, comes from a collective appreciation of our ability to learn, adapt and evolve to a higher state of functionality after an encounter. Alternatively, BrainPaint gives your brain a canvas with which to playfully and safely experience different states of being. The brain, as with all living organisms, seeks a state of homeostasis, favoring that which is most efficient and stable, hence improving brain function. We experience this fine tuned brain function as being more present, harmonious and joyful. In addition to brainwave performance training, BrainPaint images have been recognized for their art. W Magazine, February 2007, featured an article detailing a session with Bill at the exclusive Moonview Sanctuary and the editor published three of his own BrainPaint images. Many notable scientists and philosophers, Leonardo da Vinci, Aristotle, Socrates and Plato to name a few, believed that beauty is harmony made visible. Bill's intention for BrainPaint is to help people create a life more in harmony with their true nature and purpose.
