Alec Johns

I have been working in Automotive parts for the last 10 years, specialising in a various range of European and American brands. Excited for a new challenge, I have recently shifted into the heavy diesel industry with CVC Dunedin.

Andrew Dodson

Job Titles:

Andrew is a born and bred Nelsonian. Having left school at 17 he began a career in the spare parts business that has spanned 30 years. For the first 8 years he worked in the Heavy Transport Parts industry, firstly with TNL Freighting and then with Truck Service Centre. For the following 18 years he worked for several leading automotive dealerships in Nelson gaining experience with brands such as Nissan, Mazda, Holden, Toyota, and Ford as well as many European brands such as BMW, Rover, Landrover, and Pugeot. Andrew has been with CVC for 4 years and enjoys the challanges the Transport Industry brings. Andrew is married to Adrienne and they have two young daughters, Lucy and Evie. He enjoys playing golf, going for bike rides with the family and playing darts on a Monday night with mates.

Daniel Marshall

Darin McAlister

After almost 20 years in the Transport industry, Darin joined the CVC sales team to look after the Nelson Marlborough region. Having owned and operated trucks for many years he understandswhat the customers wants and needs. After selling out of the family transport company, he went to Turners Truck and Machinery as the South Island Manager. There he gained the passion for sales and getting a deal done. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his young family, social boating, boat racing, and water ski racing.

Darrell Phibbs

  • Workshop Foreman
Having been in the Transport Industry for over 35 years and having held various roles including Technician, Foreman, and Service Manager he is well qualified for the Foreman's position. Darrell has a strong emphasis on Customer satisfaction and enjoys the workshop enviroment, working with staff and creating a positive staff enviroment. Outside work Darrell enjoys Fishing, Jet Boating, Horse Racing, various sports and spending time with his partner and two daughters.

Garth Yearbury

Garth is the Parts manager in our Invercargill branch, Garth started with CVC back in 2004 as a Foreman, he spent several years in this role before moving onto a Parts manager role for the Invercargill CVC Parts Department. After several years in parts Garth moved back onto the tools as a Foreman again and more recently being responsible for Warranty and Workshop admin also. now we are full circle and Garth is back in the role of Parts Manager

Greg Allen

Job Titles:

Greg has worked for CVC for over 23 years and in that time has held many varied positions within the company, mainly on the tools. Greg has settled into what he hopes is his final position at CVC as a parts interpreter and plans on being here till he retires, in probably another 23 years. Having knowledge of heavy vehicles, he loves it when customers ask for that whatsit part behind the thingy part on the right side, and knows now why he's called a "parts interpreter". Outside of work Greg enjoys rugby (watching not playing), music, astronomy, and spending time with his kids, if they are not too busy to spend time with him.

Harry Cuttance

Looking for a truck, then Harry is your man, covering Southland and Otago. Harry joined CVC in August 2020, he was been involved in the transport industry for over 25 years, and after 4 years working as a sales rep in rural southland he is returning to the transport industry. Harry is involved in his local rural fire brigade. In his spare time Harry enjoys mountain biking, boating and mucking around his lifestyle block.

Ken Seyb

Job Titles:
  • Manager Dismantling Branch
Ken started with Commercial Vehicle Centre in 1975 aged 16. Back then he was employed by H E Melhop which was taken over by Commercial Vehicle Centre in the 1980's. As an apprentice he worked under Geoff McDermott, also a long time employee of CVC. By 1983 Ken was Workshop Foreman a position he enjoyed with a busy workload and many after hour callouts. In 1996 Ken was offered the Workshop Service Manager position which he accepted and the workshop continued to grow. In 2002 Ken accepted the position as Branch Manager, and runs the Dismantling on McLeods road, specialising in the dismantling of Nissan Trucks, sending parts all over NZ. Outside of work (and at work) Ken has a passion for taking photos of trucks. Between him and his brother Kelvin they have a vast collection of old truck photos and the history to go with them, collected from all over New Zealand.

Kyle Mikkelson

Kyle grew up in Westport where his parents still live. Playing with spanners has always been in his nature from a young age building and repairing his own cars. Kyle is a fully qualified Tradesman / Cummins Technician. Kyle puts a lot of time into training to support our product. Kyle lives in Hope with his young family which keeps him busy at home.

Lindsay Affleck

Lindsay has been with Commercial Vehicle Centre for over 25 years. Starting as Branch Manager/Truck Sales, responsible for the day to day running of the Invercargill Branch and selling New and Used trucks around Southland and Central Otago. During 1995 he took over responsibility for the Dunedin Branch and became the Otago/Southland Area Manager continuing to sell trucks in the Southland/Central Otago region. The Position of GM for Commercial Vehicle Centre was a natural progression in 2008 which he enjoys getting around the branches, working with the different staff, and meeting with customers and suppliers. When not working Lindsay enjoys the great out doors. Be it on his KTM dirt bike, Mountain bike, jet boating, a bit of fishing or hunting, or just messing about on his lifestyle block.

Richard Lloyd

Richard joined CVC Christchurch in 2012 employed as a Truck Salesman covering Rakaia to Kaikoura. He has spent most of his 47 years working life in the transport industry. In his younger days he worked on a farm until the age of 18. From there he went driving for Mid Canterbury Transport in Rakaia. He has spent 18 years driving buses and coaches and another 18 years driving and managing the logistics for Fisher & Paykel. Job satisfaction is very important to Richard. Richard's passion in life is being in the transport industry. He really enjoys selling UD Trucks and wished he had come to CVC sooner as it is a great place to work. He enjoys a chat and a laugh and gets to meet and build great relationships with some wonderful people. Richard has an interesting hobby. In his spare time he can be found taking truck photos with 3 close friends who are into the same thing. He enjoys spending time with his partner Janine and his sons, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren.

Rick McIntosh

Rick has been working with Nissan Diesel and all types of road transport equipment since late 1994. When he left school he started an apprenticeship as a Diesel Mechanic with CVC. Apart from one year off traveling the world, Rick has worked his way up from qualifying as a Workshop Technician to Parts Manager, to Truck Sales, and now Manager of the Christchurch Branch of CVC. Outside of work Rick enjoys spending time with his primary school age children, and keeping things in order on his lifestyle property.

Shayne Rooney

After moving from Christchurch to Nelson in 2011, Shayne started working for Commercial Vehicle Centre as Service Manager. A big passion of Shayne's is to provide a service that exceeds customers expectations every time. By being hands on in his role he enjoys working along side the Tech's and also direct contact with the customer. Outside of work Shayne enjoys his rugby, fishing, and a bit of hunting. Spending family time with his two children and wife with theTasman area as his back yard gives great opportunity to live the outdoors life style.

Toni Brown

Toni joined Commercial Vehicle Centre in 2009 after a move from Dunedin. Toni brings with her a wealth of experience in customer service and administration skills. She is the "go to" person in the office and the one that keeps all the boys on the straight and narrow with a fun sense of humor. Toni and her husband Dean look foward to more travel overseas now that their eldest daughter is studying at Otago University and their teenage son can hop on a plane to see the Grandparents. Toni enjoys a few quiets with friends on a sunny day.
