DAVIDSON HEARING AID CENTERS - Key Persons

Adonis Naddour

Job Titles:
  • Audiologist
  • Clinic Staff Member
Adonis is from Barrhaven, Ottawa, where he attended St. Joseph Catholic High School prior to attending the University of Ottawa, earning his bachelors degree followed by his master's degree in audiology in 2021. His desire to work as an audiologist comes from the firsthand experience he had with his grandmother. Adonis was amazed with the improvement in her quality of life once she began wearing hearing aids, and he wanted to help others experience the same joy of better hearing. Adonis has been part of the Davidson Hearing Aid Centres team for 1.5 years. He notes it was the clinic's values, wide offering of services and products, and it being family-owned that piqued his interest and sealed his decision to join the team. A typical workday for Adonis includes conducting hearing assessments, performing hearing aid fittings/adjustments, overseeing earwax removals and assisting patients with other questions and concerns as needed. He says the best part about his work is helping people hear better and seeing the improvement in each patient's quality of life. In his free time, Adonis enjoys weightlifting/exercising, playing the piano and spending time playing with his dog Oliver.

Geneviève Sandre

Job Titles:
  • Audiologist
  • Clinic Staff Member
Geneviève grew up in Orléans and attended the University of Ottawa. Prior to completing her graduate program in audiology in 2021, her undergraduate studies consisted of linguistics and psychology. All of her education was done in French. Having developed a single-sided hearing loss as a child, Geneviève spent plenty of time at her audiologist's and ENT's office. This exposure motivated her to learn more about the world of audiology. Intrigued by what seemed like an interesting mix of healthcare and technology, her future career as an audiologist was decided upon early on. Geneviève joined the Davidson Hearing Aid Centres team in an administration role in 2018 prior to completing her masters in audiology. She returned as an audiologist following following her graduation and she couldn't be happier with her decision. She says she enjoys the friendliness of the team and the no-pressure environment, which creates a healthy work atmosphere. Another positive, according to Geneviève, is that Davidson isn't tied to just one manufacturer but rather a vast selection of hearing aid brands. She also appreciates that Davidson is a family-owned company with an 80-year history within hearing care. Most workdays, Geneviève is busy conducting hearing tests, managing hearing aid fittings and adjustments, performing wax removals, customizing earmolds and repairing hearing aids. She says she loves seeing the impact that audiologic care has on her clients' daily lives (and their family and friends) and watching their confidence grow while helping them navigate through a brand-new experience and journey. Geneviève likes spending her free time with her family and friends. She is also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys long walks, biking, hiking and kayaking. When the weather isn't in her favour, she can often be found at the gym, at a yoga class or playing the ukelele.

Julie Levionnois

Job Titles:
  • Audiologist
Julie grew up in Southern Ontario and considers Burlington her hometown. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Ottawa with her master's degree in health science, audiology. That same year, she completed her final student placement at Davidson Hearing Aid Centres and began working there as an audiologist soon afterwards. Choosing audiology as a profession was an easy choice for Julie, as it offered her the perfect balance between working with people and technology. Several factors attracted Julie to working at Davidson Hearing Aid Centres; she appreciates that it is a family-owned business with a great work environment. Also, by being an independent clinic, this allows the team to offer the most product options, meaning clients have a wider variety of solutions for their hearing needs. Julie's main responsibility as an audiologist is to help individuals with a hearing loss by providing them and their families with information, counselling and recommendations, with the objective of improving the way they can hear and access the world. She offers hearing evaluations, wax removal, hearing aid programming and maintenance, and tinnitus management to our patients. Although Julie loves so many aspects of her work, she particularly likes seeing how the tools she uses continue to evolve and improve over time. She says hearing aid technology has already come so far and she looks forward to watching how it will continue to develop in the future.

Julie Plourde

Julie has worked in Nunavut and has done volunteer work in Guatemala offering audiological services to individuals with limited access to health care. She offers services in both French and English at our Vimy Bridge clinic. Julie grew up in Hearst, Northern Ontario and completed her audiology degree in 2001 at the University of Ottawa. She became aware of hearing loss at an early age, as her father has a noise-induced hearing loss, and further volunteering work led her to fall in love with the profession. A part of the Davidson Hearing Aid Centres team since August 2019, Julie says she chose to join the team because she always had heard good things about the clinic from clients and staff alike. From a small town in northern Ontario, Julie values a sense of community. She treats her patients with care and concern. She prides herself going above and beyond to provide everyone with quality patient centered services. Working in a family-owned business that really focuses on the patient experience allows her to practice these values. Julie's day-to-day responsibilities include performing hearing tests and prescribing, fitting and maintaining patients' hearing aids. She notes that her favourite part about her work is the analytical side of being an audiologist as well as helping people. When she's not in the clinic, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, sports and the outdoors.

Robbie Davidson

Job Titles:
  • Audiologist
Robbie grew up in Ottawa and following in his father and grandfathers footsteps, he is the third generation Davidson to work with the hard of hearing. Robbie started working with his father in 1999 as a summer job while he was studying at the University of Ottawa. He recalls that right away he loved the close team he worked with and seeing how they were able to make such a significant difference in people's day-to-day lives. This along with keeping up with the quickly changing technology side of the industry was enough for him to become excited about joining the family business. Upon completing his audiology degree from the University of British Columbia in 2006, he joined the Davidson Hearing Aid Centres team as a full-time audiologist. He notes that he has immensely enjoyed working alongside his father for 20+ years and he couldn't imagine working anywhere else. His love of audiology and desire to go above and beyond for patients was recognized by the Canadian Academy of Audiology who awarded him the Jean Kienapple Award for Clinician Excellence in 2021. Currently, Robbie finds himself wearing many different hats at Davidson Hearing Aid Centres, which he says unfortunately means he has much less time for working directly with clients than he used to. Nevertheless, the clinical audiology side is still his favourite part of his work. Reflecting on the last two decades at Davidson, he is the most proud of the team that they've assembled and really enjoys dropping into each of the clinics and working alongside the different staff members. When Robbie isn't working, he spends the majority of his time with his wife and young children who bring him so much joy and laughter. However, he also finds a special solace when he can go out and ride his bike. This is when he can really disengage from the day-to-day life and just "be in the moment."
