Susan Dennehy

I began my own firm in 1996 in order to focus on helping those who have been injured by malpractice. Since that time, I have gotten to know hundreds of people and the stories behind their cases. Unlike many medical negligence lawyers, I fell in love with medicine as a child, when I accompanied my father, a doctor, on his house calls to visit patients. I cherish those visits to this day, and I try to achieve the same closeness with my clients that I saw between my father and his patients. My legal career in medical malpractice started as an associate and later as a partner in a prominent firm where I handled hundreds of cases representing doctors and hospitals. Today, as a plaintiff's attorney representing patients, I know and can anticipate how attorneys representing medical professionals will build their case because of what I learned during this period of my legal career. After attending law school at the American University, Washington College of Law, where I served on law review, I was a television journalist and investigative reporter, as well as a commentator on Court TV. Investigative skills and the ability to uncover and tell a story are essential to my case development and trial work in front of judges and juries. Establishing my own practice means I dedicate my work to my clients and the hardships they endure. I study medicine and keep up with medical research, so that I can best advocate for my clients.
