Delta Counseling Associates, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides a comprehensive range of behavioral healthcare services to the more than eight-thousand residents who live in the five counties of extreme Southeast Arkansas. Including Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha and Drew counties... In the spring of 1970, a group of community leaders from Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, and Drew Counties met in Monticello, Arkansas with representatives of the Arkansas State Hospital to discuss the possibility of establishing a community mental health services program for the area. At that time, the state hospital system had been encountering an increasing demand for local services throughout Arkansas and was quickly becoming unable to provide the kind of service necessary for quality care. A part-time clinic was opened in Monticello at the Drew County Hospital to begin providing mental health services in the area. Outpatient clinics in Ashley and Chicot counties were opened..
