DAVIDSON & KITZMANN - Key Persons

High-Stakes Matters

High-stakes matters involve cases that may change the direction of someone's education, career, or life. They can come from any number of vectors. Recent high-stakes matters John has handled include representing parties in Title IX hearings, assisting lawyers facing Virginia State Bar investigations, representing physicians with drug diversion problems, and assisting material witnesses and targets of federal grand juries.

John E. Davidson

John is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member of the Virginia Law Review. Upon graduation, the faculty bestowed upon him the Earle K. Shawe Labor Relations Award as the graduate with the greatest promise in the field of labor relations. Following a clerkship with a federal judge, John practiced with McGuireWoods LLP, one of the largest firms in America and the largest firm in Virginia. He then co-founded Davidson & Kitzmann, PLC with another McGuireWoods lawyer. John is a highly experienced courtroom lawyer, having been trying cases and handling appeals in federal and state courts for over 27 years. However, many of his clients prefer to resolve their matters confidentially outside of court. He is always pleased to help a client achieve the client's goals with discretion and care. Most of John's work comes from referrals from other lawyers and from former and current clients, but all are welcome.
