Mr. Brockman has led DM Brock over the past twenty years on all project efforts and often with a conglomeration of professionals and strategic alliances that are assembled for each project depending upon the specific needs. His talent at this leadership comes of years of past experiences on a wide variety of project types. Most recently he has served as the Executive Vice President Development for the Old Trail Village Community in Crozet, VA. The project is a 120-acre Mixed Use Development just outside of Charlottesville, VA with a backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The project is a "New Urbanist Mixed-Use Golf Village", and one of the premier communities in Albemarle County, VA., The successes in Old Trail Village and how it has managed the growth demands of this extremely desirable location, often serving as a pilot for the County's numerous smart growth initiatives. While at DM Brock, Mr. Brockman spent the previous 10 years with Transcontinental Properties out of Santa Barbara, CA. He began the role as an Advisory service then continued in the capacity of Vice President of Development for a number of its acquisitions and development initiatives in Retail / Mixed Use / Resort Developments throughout the Western United States. Some notable projects include Cross Mountain Ranch that is a 40,000-acre Recreation / Outdoor Sportsman's Ranch just outside Steamboat Springs, CO Remington Ranch that is a 3,000 acres Mixed Use Destination Golf Resort Development in Bend, Oregon Lake Las Vegas Resort that is a 3,500-acre Destination Lake & Golf Resort with 3 Championship Golf Course, Luxury Hotels and Vibrant Retail / Entertainment Villages at the shores of a 300-acre lake. Prior to his years with Transcontinental, Mr. Brockman was a Real Estate Development Advisor and Partner for 15 years at the International Firm of EDAW, specializing in Urban Design and Private Sector Development. During this time, he was involved with several Award-Winning projects in Mixed use, Recreation, Resort, Lifestyle / Entertainment, and Residential / Hospitality Developments. Some of these notable efforts included the "ULI Award Winning" Desert Highlands Golf / recreation Community, Desert Mountain Golf & Recreational Community, The "ULI Award Winning" Kierland Commons Retail / Entertainment Center all in Arizona. He was also involved with the Summerlin Master Planned Community in Las Vegas, NV The River at Rancho Mirage Town Center in Palm Desert, CA and the "California Local Chapter AIA Award Winning" West Hollywood Gateway Mixed Use Development in West Los Angeles, CA. In addition to this work, he was involved with numerous projects throughout Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East they include the "International ULI Award Winning" Zolte Tarasy Urban Transit Development in Warsaw, Poland the "ULI International Award Winning" La Cittadel Retail / Entertainment Center in Japan.
