The DRMR is playing an important role in sustainable production of rapeseed-mustard in India through its research and extension activities. India holding third position in rapeseed-mustard production in world after Canada and China, during 2013-14, in India the production of 32.8 million tonnes of oilseed could be achieved due to 7.9 million tonnes production of rapeseed-mustard. Challenge before DRMR is to increase the level of sufficiency in edible oil consumption in changing food habit of ever-growing population in our country with increase or achieve the potential yield cultivars through developing ecologically sound and economically viable agro production and protection technologies fo different climatic conditions... Rapeseed-Mustard is the important crop in the word; India is the third largest producer of rapeseed-mustard after China and Canada. Rapeseed-Mustard is one of the second largest oilseed crop in India. the crop is grown in almost 24 states for domestic use as well..
