Don Young

Job Titles:

Don Young is the principle estimator of project costs. DYA uses the Timberline Estimating and Job Costing System. Job cost spreadsheets are provided throughout the duration of the project to architects and owners for review.

John McCutchen

The new President and Owner of DYA, John has been with the company since 1996, learning the trade along the way. He has become a knowledgeable and respected leader not only within the company, but also among local industry peers and professionals: architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors. John knows what it takes to be a quality builder, and understands projects, regardless of scope, are detailed collaborations between owner, architect, and builder. John embraces the importance of communication, and brings years of experience working with tools and an experienced team, orchestrating successful projects, from beginning to end. John also holds a LEED certificate through the Green Building Initiative John was born and raised in Oregon, and his partner Rhonda, would have been fifth generation Oregonian if it were not for her family's hiatus to Hawaii at statehood. The team comes with a background working in family-owned businesses, so it makes sense their three sons have jumped into the trades, busy honing in on their own carpentry and business skills, as the company pivots to the future. Longtime residents of Portland, the family values the area's architectural nods and fine craftsmanship, and recognizes the role of Portland's design aesthetic within the Northwest landscape.

Lynda McDowell

Working as the Office Manager for 7 years, Lynda efficiently performs all in house accounting and bookkeeping. She handles A/P, A/R, Payroll, reporting and invoicing for our clients. Lynda brings her experience with Leasing, mortgage lending & escrow to her duties here at DYA. She provides great organization, follow through and a keen eye to detail and accuracy. Her energy, sense of humor and thoroughness continuously provides a stable and enjoyable office environment.

Rhonda E. L. McCutchen

  • New Co - Owner of DYA
Rhonda, new Co-Owner of DYA, brings years of internal leadership management skills to DYA from a quality management, project management, and code specialist point of view. Formerly, Rhonda was Director of Operations for an in vitro diagnostics company, forecasting manufacturability changes, adaptations to quality management systems, and providing human resource services to a great team. She spent years also consulting with small manufacturing companies within the Northwest, helping them establish efficient quality management systems, with a hyper focus on reflecting process throughout. She brings her eye and ear for detail, and her ability to think broadly through the process to all aspects of managing a business, or building up a dream. She actually enjoys the art of reading building codes, so it has been refreshing to have another member of the team roll up their sleeves and jump in.
