EASTERN SHORE ENT & ALLERGY - Key Persons

Christine Strobel has been a medical scribe for Dr. Daniel Kelley since June 2017. Prior to taking the position with Dr. Kelley, Christine worked for a large PCP group as a patient navigator/authorization specialist and for Beebe Medical Center as a one-on-one patient supervisor, documenting care and assisting patients in need of supervision. While working in the field of primary care, Christine developed and implemented a referral/diagnostic tracking program, which was designed as a safety net to ensure patients were successfully navigated through the health care system. In addition to documenting for Dr. Kelley, Christine is writing a book detailing daily challenges and helpful suggestions such as bandaging techniques, minimizing contractures and scarring, dental care, nutrition, insurance denials and other struggles for patients suffering from recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa or RDEB. When Christine isn't writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael. Together they enjoy riding motorcycles with friends and spending time with family.

Dr. Kelley is a graduate of Harvard University (B.A. Biology) and Wake Forest University Medical School. He completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is a former Director of Head and Neck Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine. The focus of Dr. Kelley's practice is head and neck surgery.

Dr. Matilda Kennedy-Butler, originally from Bel Air, Maryland, received her bachelor's degree in speech and hearing from Elmira College in 2019. She continued her studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she received her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) in 2023. Matilda's audiology experiences include private practices, ENT offices and the Mailman Center for Child Development in Miami. She joined our practice in May 2022 to complete her final residency and stayed at the practice after graduating with her Au.D. Matilda is a licensed audiologist in the state of Maryland and is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In her spare time, Matilda enjoys going to the beach, biking, arts and crafts and spending time with her family.

Eastern Shore ENT and Allergy Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Nathan Deckard to our practice. Dr. Deckard received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed an otolaryngology-head and neck surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, rounding out his education with a fellowship in rhinology, allergy and skull base surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Deckard is board-certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Rhinologic Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Dr. Deckard's clinical interest and expertise are in diagnosing and managing diseases of the nose and sinus areas. He was an assistant professor of American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy at the Cooper University School of Medicine in Camden, New Jersey.

A longtime resident of the Eastern Shore, Laura Mooney King is a board-certified physician assistant. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in environmental health from Salisbury University and worked the Somerset County Health Department as a registered sanitarian. Laura was then accepted into the inaugural physician assistant class at University of Maryland at Eastern Shore, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. While in the program, she started her career at Eastern Shore ENT and continues to provide a wide range of ENT care to patients at the Salisbury and Berlin offices. Laura is accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
