Alfredo Perez-Lozano

Job Titles:

Entering the engineering field in 2011, Alfredo's civil engineering experience includes both public and private land development across several states. He has worked on a wide array of projects ranging from municipal, state, military and federal work to K-12 and higher education on the public side was well as corporate office campuses, commercial/mixed-use, and residential (single and multi-family) on the private side. His expertise includes project management, site design, hydraulics and hydrology, erosion and sedimentation control, grading and drainage design, water quality and detention pond analysis, water/wastewater and dry utility design, roadway geometric design, and traffic planning. Joining the Emerio team in 2019, Alfredo's broad range of experience has allowed him to effectively step in and fill roles in both the public works department and the private development group at Emerio. Alfredo is also an outdoor enthusiast and sports aficionado. When he's not playing early morning pick-up basketball you'll probably catch him on a run or finding a new trail to hike with his pup. During college football season you'll see him and his wife Tanya sporting burnt orange on game days cheering on their Texas Longhorns.

A recent graduate from Oregon State University, Blake's educational background and prior experience as an accounting/finance intern provides him with a versatile set of business skills useful for project accounting. Blake joined the Emerio team in 2020 and is driven to bring his analytical focus and detail to the team to best assist with Emerio projects from an accounting perspective. Blake is a lifelong Pacific Northwest resident, and enjoys participating in various outdoor activities with his friends and family. He also enjoys exploring local restaurants and breweries, watching sports, and playing video games.

After an internship at PBOT, Brent continued his CECOP program with Emerio Design beginning in 2019. During his time at PBOT he worked on multiple preliminary cost estimates, bid analyses, ADA ramp inspections, and assisting his mentor and other engineers on any tasks needed. At Emerio, Brent assists in drafting plan sheets with both MicroStation and AutoCAD, surveying and designing ADA ramps, and helping others on projects. He looks forward to learning more, improving, and growing with Emerio! Outside of work Brent enjoys hanging out with family and friends, following and playing basketball (Go Blazers!), and going on spontaneous adventures

Cameron Johnson

Cameron was introduced to Emerio Design by our Eugene office lead, Roy Hankins, during presentations in Sheldon High School AutoCAD classes. He pursued business and engineering studies at Oregon State University, and joined our team in 2021. Growing up playing football and basketball, Cameron now spends weekends fishing, rafting, and hunting in the beautiful surrounding areas of Eugene, often with friends or family and his dog, Scout. Having previously helped coach an 8th grade football team, he's looking forward to continuing to give back to his community as the opportunities present themselves.

David Burnett

David has been in the field of civil engineering since 2006. After eight years with a small engineering firm, he joined the Emerio team in 2019, bringing with him a vast knowledge of land development and surveying. He is excited for the opportunity to share his versatile experiences and advance his education and career. As lead Civil Designer on private land development subdivisions ranging from 5 to 56 lots, David specializes in private land development with an emphasis on road and utility design well as storm conveyance systems, surveys, partitions, and plats. Working at a small engineering firm enabled David to acquire the skills to confidently handle projects from their inception to completion. He is well versed in working directly with developers, contractors, and local jurisdictions. When he is not at the office, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Brenna, and young daughter. He can often be found helping in his wife's floral studio or assisting on the mechanics behind her large installations. An avid golfer in his youth, Dave enjoys playing a round of golf when given the rare opportunity. Together with his family they enjoy traveling, hiking, and adventuring. They are always on the lookout for a new waterfall.

Elisabet Mendrinos

With a varied background in customer service, bookkeeping, and caregiving, Elisabet enjoys the challenges of helping people and operations run smoothly. Joining the Emerio team in 2021 as an assistant in our public works department, Elisabet has been hard at work helping keep our engineers and designers organized and improving our processes. Skilled at finding efficiencies and anticipating problems and issues before they arise, she is always available to lend a helping hand and offer support. Originally from Greece, Elisabet is an avid traveler and loves heading back to Athens to visit family. She also enjoys exploring stateside, having visited 49 states and 9 national parks so far with a goal to get her National Parks Passport filled. Her five boys keep her busy when she is not lounging on the beach in the summer, quilting and making Christmas ornaments in the winter, or whipping up her latest batch of cookies or cakes year round.

Eric Evans

Eric's years of expertise began with a seven-year chapter as a project manager for a site development general contractor before jumping into the engineering realm with both feet in 2004 and joining the Emerio team in 2006. Serving as a Sr. Project Manager in our Private Development group, Eric supports the Private Development engineering team in providing a wide variety of land use development projects ranging from large commercial sites to multi- and single-family residences and infill endeavors. Eric also retains significant jurisdiction and responsibility for field coordination in a variety of engineering and construction settings. During our gorgeous Oregon summers, Eric and his wife, Amber, enjoy camping in our state parks with their son and daughter. Eric serves our community as a Cub Scout Leader where he employs his background in engineering as a Master Pinewood Derby Car Builder.

Ian Feltis

After graduating from Oregon State, Ian began his civil engineering career in 2015 in Central Oregon, primarily in the Bend and Redmond areas. While he excels in the land development environment, he has significant experience in commercial and residential site design and enjoys using his field and inspection knowledge to aid in the design process. With his ODOT Inspection Certifications and his five-year engineering background in the Oregon high desert, Ian joined Emerio's Eugene office in 2019. Ian was raised in Eugene and loves spending time with old friends, his family, and his dog, Awbrey. He also enjoys playing music with his friends for fun. In his free time during the winter months, you will most likely find Ian at the nearest ski hill.

Jennifer Arnold

Joining the Emerio Design team in 2021, Jennifer has 8 years of land use planning experience in both the public and private sectors. Her experience includes providing project management and planning services at both the county and city levels, including affordable housing, annexations, municipal planning, floodplain development, entitlements/due diligence, residential historical design review, final approvals, and grant writing. In previous roles as the primary Duty Planner for Douglas County and Associate Planner for the City of West Linn, she honed her skills in presenting detailed technical information to non-technical audiences, often acting as an intermediary between engineering staff and property owners. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys gardening, playing with her dogs, watching movies at home, and backpacking in the mountains somewhere. She married her high school sweetheart and they love taking road trips and doing house projects together.

Growing up in an engineering family, Jonathan has fond memories of working in AutoCAD with his dad from an early age, so pursuing Construction Inspection was a natural career path! After several years of experience as a CAD drafter, Jonathan passed his ODOT Construction Inspector course and joined the Emerio team in 2022. He is looking forward to serving his new team with the highest level of work and care he can offer! Jonathan enjoys spending time outside with his wife Haley and son Ty, and when it comes to pro sports, is an avid fan of all things Colorado after spending the first decade of his life in Denver, so you can often find him cheering on the Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, and Avalanche!

Josh Meyer

With his educational experience steering him to stormwater systems and site development, Josh partnered with the City of Newberg to redesign a failed stormwater site as a part of his Teacher's Assistant positions and a Senior capstone project. Joining the Emerio team in 2019, Josh is excited to continue to learn more about these fields as he works on the various projects that will come his way at Emerio Design. Josh participated in Cross Country and Track and Field from high school through college and continues to pursue running as a hobby. Aside from running, Josh enjoys hiking and all manner of outdoor games and adventures with friends and family. While indoors, he enjoys reading and video games as his more introverted hobbies.

Kamm Fowler

With a background as a Civil Designer, Kamm brings over 21 years of experience in public and private land development for projects in the greater Portland-metro area. While working for a small engineering firm prior to coming to Emerio in 2021, he gained valuable experience working on several TriMet light rail projects, utility coordination tasks, and PBOT design submittals. A retired Army Veteran of over 21 years, Kamm spent many years in the Washington DC area with the Human Resources Command before retiring in 2011. His greatest accomplishment on duty was running the Army Long-Term Family Case Management branch where he provided oversight of multiple large-scale survivor benefits and entitlements to loved ones of soldiers killed in combat. When not in the office, Kamm enjoys spending time with his daughter and young grandson. Other interests include traveling and whipping up new recipes in the kitchen. During the winter months, Kamm can frequently be found rooting on his beloved Winterhawks hockey team over at the Moda Center!

Kari Sprenger

In the engineering field since 1985, Kari brings a variety of experiences in the private and public sectors to the Emerio Design Construction Management team. From owning a landscaping company to 31 years with ODOT to working as a construction inspector for a variety of city, county, and state agencies, Kari uses her experiences to join forces with all stakeholders in a project through great communication and problem solving to get to a finished product that everyone is proud of. Outside of work, Kari enjoys spending time with her family, including her dog and grand doggies. You can often find the whole crew camping, hiking, skiing, four wheeling and biking, and Kari also enjoys time at home working on renovation projects, gardening/landscaping, and sewing.

Entering the A/E industry when she joined the Emerio team in 2018, Kim is happy to have the opportunity to blend her educational background in visual storytelling and her career background in marketing to tell Emerio's story. Kim loves spending time outdoors and can often be found cruising around Portland's many trails and pathways on her bike or photographing Oregon's natural beauty.

Entering this industry in the 2015, Kyle builds on his varied history of work experience to improve project outcomes. Being a part of building shared public spaces has always been Kyle's goal and he is energized to be a part of a diverse group of people, personalities, and experience. Joining the Emerio team in 2020, Kyle looks forward to the challenge of achieving Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Engineer Licenses. Leif Rhoades

Leif's education gave him a broad background in the process and impacts of project design and implementation. After graduation, Leif spent over four years working as a construction project manager, giving him experience across many aspects of commercial and residential development, from plan review through final inspections. Joining the Emerio team in 2018, Leif verifies that work done on-site meets all required and pertinent construction standards. This work insures the longevity of new infrastructure and the quality of our environment. In his free time Leif enjoys hiking, biking, and racquetball, or on lazier days just binge watching Netflix with a good meal.

Lynn Peterson

With 25 years of accounting experience prior to joining the Emerio Design team in 2020, Lynn's repertoire includes positions at a start-up company in Portland, a printing company in Tigard, and many years working in the banking industry. Lynn enjoys working with numbers, and has spent her career putting her mathematical skills to good use. Outside of work, Lynn enjoys spending time with family, taking long walks, playing Sudoku, and reading suspense/mystery novels.

Michael Domingo

With a background in psychology and accounting and a penchant for analysis, Michael's role as Project Accountant makes use of his thorough attention to detail and clear communication skills. Joining the Emerio team in 2018, Michael enjoys the opportunity and challenge of investing in the thriving engineering world. A global traveler, Michael has visited 13 countries and territories and lived in six US states. His passion for music began early as a budding cellist at the age of ten; while his interest in craft brewing, whiskey and photography have been added to his out-of-the-office repertoire.

Nick was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and loves hanging out with his wife, son, and French bulldog, watching the Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball team, and weather permitting, golfing.

Nicole Allen

With an educational background in construction inspection, survey, and survey calculations; field experience in surveying; and office experience in basemapping and drafting, Nicole wields a unique perspective in both surveying and engineering. She works closely with both field survey crews and Senior Project Surveyors in preparing plats, records of survey, and legal descriptions. Nicole joined the Emerio team in 2014, and offers in-depth familiarity and knowledge of drafting and CADD standards from her experience on public works projects by providing drafting for the plan and profile sheets, identifying revised sewer alignments, spot repair locations, and pipe rehabilitation and replacement.

Richard Lee

Mr. Lee joined the engineering field in 1976. He has ten years of international work experience in designing jackets and top sides for the oil and gas industry. During this time, he also gained experience in estimating construction costs and construction monitoring for port facilities and offshore structures. Rick also has 20 years of experience in the design of heavy industrial structures, i.e. paper machine support structures, wood chip stacking and reclaiming systems, pump transfer stations both above and below ground, refineries and recovery boilers. Joining the Emerio team in 2020, he has extensive experience with: ACI Concrete code slabs, pile caps, spread footings, matt foundations, AISC Steel code steel rigid and braced frames, utility bridges, transfer towers, boiler structures, heavy industrial structures both brown field and green field, masonry and wood structures residential and commercial, detailed knowledge of IBC and ASCE 7, knowledge of deep foundation design pile caisson, and micropiles.

Rick Fensler

Joining the Emerio team through the CECOP internship program in 2018, Rick serves as a Civil Designer in the Public Works Department. While working for PBOT, he assisted with ADA Ramp inspection/design, updating the City of Portland Cost Estimate template sheet, and generating Cost Estimate Reports for various projects in the preliminary phase. In his current role, Rick's expertise is used in drafting up plan sheets in AutoCAD/MicroStation, creating Curve Warning Sign Request forms using Ball Bank Analysis, and other general design tasks in the civil engineering realm. He appreciates the diverse work environment as well as the team bonding events hosted by Emerio Design. Hailing from Osaka, Japan, Rick moved to the US when he was 10 years old. He is a big baseball and basketball fan (Go Blazers and Go Mariners!) and in his off time you will find him either watching or attending multiple games during the season.
