Originally a journalist, Alicia is a senior manager with a proven track record in media, marketing, communications and market research - especially in complex and highly regulated environments. Alicia heads up a small team of professionals, providing contemporary and credible marketing and communication direction and general leadership to position and develop the brand, and manage the reputation and profile of Equity Trustees.

Alister Lahood

Andrew Godfrey

Andrew has 30+ years of experience in financial services, including leadership roles across superannuation, wealth, financial advice and insurance. His experience has spanned operations, technology, master trusts and administration, client delivery, transformation and change and risk. He has spent significant periods of his career with Mercer where he was COO prior to joining Equity Trustees. Andrew leads the Corporate and Superannuation Trustee Services business.

Anthony G. Hiscock

He was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria in 1962 and a Partner at Hedderwicks, Fookes and Alston Solicitors between 1967 and 1984. He has been a Partner at Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks since 1984. Chairman from August 2007 to October 2018. Prior to joining Equity Trustees, Tony was a former Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd, having had a 36 year career with the National Mutual/AXA group. He was also Chairman of Australia's largest not-for-profit health services provider, Sisters of Charity Health Service Ltd. Tony was also a non-executive director of listed company IRESS Market Technology Ltd and Chairman of Sisters of Charity Community Care Ltd, and Chairman of Templeton Growth Fund Ltd. In 2011, Mr Killen was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.

Catherine Robson

Chris brings more than 25 years of investment and portfolio experience to the team. Over his career, his Australian equities portfolios have consistently delivered consistent above-benchmark results at companies including Concord Capital, Northward Capital, Lendlease and Bankers Trust Australia. Chris jointly established and managed Concord Capital from its inception in 1999 through to its sale in 2010. During this time, he managed the growth of funds under management from $100 million to over $6.5 billion, delivering consistent top-quartile returns. After the business was sold to Invesco Australia, Chris was appointed Head of Equities/Portfolio Manager of the Australian Equities portfolio.

Colonel Allan Spowers

Journalist and company director. He was Vice Chairman from 1955 to 1965. He was also Chairman of Colonial Mutual Life and Moran & Cato and on the Board of CapeI Court, Felt & Textiles. He served in both WWI and WWII.

Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Peter Williams

Peter came to Equity Trustees with broad experience in investments, insurance and superannuation, having worked in Australia and internationally with the listed insurance company, AXA (previously National Mutual Ltd). In 2000, Peter was appointed General Manager, Superannuation & Portfolio Services at Perpetual Limited. Directorships include NM Superannuation Pty Ltd including two years as its Chairman and two years as the National President of the Trustee Corporations Association of Australia. Peter was a Director and Vice-Chairman of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Mr Gentry has more than 25 years' experience in leadership positions within financial services, property, agribusiness, international trade, commodities and logistics. Mr Gentry's previous roles have included Managing Director of Agrium Asia Pacific, CFO of AWB. Richard Newton

Russell Beasley

Russell has overall responsibility for the operational compliance of all Responsible Entity and Corporate Trustee relationships within Australia. He joined Equity Trustees as Senior Relationship and Product Manager in February 2005. Subsequent appointments within Equity Trustees have included National Manager, Corporate Fiduciary Services and Head of Fund Services Australia. Russell also acted in the capacity of Chief Risk Officer for Equity Trustees for a period of 9 months to February 2019. Russell has more than 40 years' experience in the financial services industry, holding senior positions within funds management and retail banking. Previous roles include: Communication Manager, MLC Investment Management; Portfolio Manager, National Australia Funds Management; Senior Manager Operations, County Investment Management; and various retail banking appointments within National Australia Bank.

Siew Wong

Siew joined Equity Trustees as part of the acquisition and integration of the ANZ Trustees business. She is involved in model portfolio management and is responsible for dealing across all common funds and mandates. Siew is also the secretary to the Asset Allocation Committee and Management Investment Committee.

Sir John Latham

Politician and jurist. He retired upon his appointment as Chief Justice High Court of Australia. Earlier, he held general retainers with several companies. In 1925 he became the Federal Attorney General and, in 1932, he was the Australian representative to Geneva disarmament conference.

Sir Ninian Stephen

High Court of Australia Judge from 1972 to 1982 and Governor-General of Australia from 1982 to 1990.

Sir Robert G. Menzies

During the company's long history, Prime Ministers, High Court judges and Governor-Generals have sat on our Board. Sir Robert G. Menzies was among them, sitting on the Board until he became Prime Minister in 1939.

Sir Stephen Morell

Chairman from 1941 to 1943. He was a Board member of CUB and Victoria Insurance. He was also Lord Mayor of Melbourne from 1926 to 1928. The Morell Bridge over the Yarra River is named in his honour.

Sir William C. Angliss

Founder of the vast Angliss Meat empire, he financed a hospitality school in Melbourne. He was also a Member Victorian Legislative Council from 1912 to 1952.

Sir William Hill Irvine

Politician and jurist. Served until appointment as Chief Justice of Victoria where he served for 17 years and earned the nickname 'Iceberg' Irvine. He became Premier of Victoria in 1902 and later Attorney General.

Thi Doan

Tim Gallagher

Tim is responsible for undertaking all day-to-day mortgage lending operations and portfolio management of the Fund. Tim is a key individual within the business and was appointed as a Responsible Manager under the AFSL of Equity Trustees in 2017 and in December 2021 he was appointed the new role of Head of Mortgages. Tim is also an Accredited Finance Broker (Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia - Full Member) and has over 15 years' experience in the finance industry, specialising in Residential, Commercial and Construction Property Finance, Credit and Lending Analysis and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining Equity Trustees, Tim was Senior Relationship Manager at Australian Securities Limited. Mr Hammon was CEO of Mutual Trust Pty Ltd, from 2007 to 2017, building the business to become a leading Australian multi-family office servicing high net worth clients. Prior to that he was in leadership positions with Coles Myer Ltd for 11 years and Mallesons Stephen Jaques for 4 years. He began his career in law with Mallesons Stephen Jaques and was a partner at the firm for 12 years (1984 - 1996) after graduating in law and commerce from the University of Melbourne. Mr Hammon has held Board positions with not-for-profit organisations, the Abbotsford Convent Foundation and St Catherine's School and currently is an Ambassador for the fund raising campaign for the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery. Mr Hammon is currently a non-executive director of Vicinity Centres, an ASX listed Real Estate Investment Trust.

William O. Harris

Barrister. He resigned upon his appointment to the Supreme Court. During WWII, he was a member of the Royal Australian Navy before entering legal practice and becoming the President of the Victorian Bar Council.
