Angela Fenech Zammit

Ms. Angela Fenech Zammit has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Banking and Finance and Management, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Banking, Insurance, and Risk Management, and a Master of Science degree in Management Human Resources. Angela has over 15 years of expertise in the financial sector, having worked for the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) before deciding to join the Malta Business Registry Agency (MBR) following a demerger. She was in charge of establishing the International Affairs, Research, and Communications Unit and assisting all units as needed. She oversaw the agency's establishment and all prestigious events, both locally and worldwide, as well as all publications and information flow, both internally and externally. She is an experienced team leader who possesses good communication. She decided to join FHRD as a Membership Executive in August 2023, with the primary objective of adding value to FHRD members.

Dr Godwin C Micallef

Dr Godwin C Micallef is a management consultant. By profession, Dr Micallef is an Administration & Financial Controller. His tertiary education was in accountancy and business studies. He is also certified in advanced management from the University of Surrey [UK]. In 2010 he was presented with a Doctorate Honoris Causa from Grenoble Ecole de Management [Grenoble Ecole de Management, one of the few business schools worldwide to have achieved triple accreditation from AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS] in recognition of his contribution to industry both in Malta and on an international level and for his commitment to sustainable development.

Ediana Guillaumier

Ediana leads People Consulting and Learning for EY Malta. Ediana joined EY 19 years ago as part of the Strategy and Transactions team and worked through the ranks advising clients on business-related matters, particularly mergers & acquisitions, and transactions. It was through this role that she discovered her passion for people-related matters and now focuses entirely on People Consulting and Learning. Ediana is a Certified Public Accountant, sits on the Committee of Women Directors in Malta, a Women in Tech Ambassador for Eskills Malta Foundation, and a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. Ediana has also served as tutor and examiner at the University of Malta. Describing herself as a mother first and a career person second, Ediana is a strong advocate of Women in leadership positions and believes that organisations should form their strategy around their people.

Edward Briffa

Marzena Izabela Szybiak

Ms Marzena Izabela Szybiak is a qualified Business Psychologist, holding a Masters in Business Management specialising in Psychology in Business from the University of WSB Poznan in Poland and is also a Certified Coach, with a keen interest in Psychology, HR, and Business. The experience she gained while doing business in Poland and Malta enabled her to gain vast knowledge and approach many issues from different perspectives. Marzena is a people-oriented professional and organised team member with the ability to communicate effectively and handle office changes. She is skilled at building and maintaining relationships with employees across all levels of an organization. Last year she finished a Human Resources Management Course in Malta and joined FHRD because she strongly believes that having motivated and engaged employees are extremely important for the performance and success of any good organisation.

Matthew Naudi - President

Mr. Naudi Matthew, a people's man, professional but with a sense of humour, the media industry has been at the centre of most of Matthew's working life. Since joining Allied Group of Companies as a rookie reporter in 1986, he worked his way up to hold senior editor roles with The Sunday Times of Malta, until he was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer in 2006 with the task of building the HR function from the ground up. Matthew is responsible for implementing the HR strategy for both Allied Newspapers Ltd. and Progress Press Co Ltd. His expertise lies in successfully directing the organizational planning and development through strategic initiatives and programmes while managing change in a dynamic and technologically-driven media environment, ensuring that talent, staff development and good employee relations are a constant within the organisation. Matthew believes that HR deserves more than just a "Seat at the Table". He also believes that the HR profession deserves more national recognition. As current President of the FHRD, Matthew was instrumental in creating the FHRD Quality Mark, a national certification programme that rewards organisations for their HR achievements. He would like to carry on working within the FHRD to further elevate the HR profession on the island.

Mr Mark Bugeja

Mr Mark Bugeja is the Head of Human Resources at Nectar with over 10 years of experience in HR arena. Mark is an enthusiastic and highly motivated person, with demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Described by others as calm and focused, with a natural ability to make people feel ‘at ease' in a stressful situation. Mark worked on various human resources related projects including organisation restructuring, workforce planning, training needs analysis, employment benefit schemes and employee relations. He co-founded the Nectar Social Committee in 2010 with the aim to increase engagement among the employees. During the past years, Mark steered Nectar towards achieving numerous HR accolades awarded by FHRD, BLM and OHSA. Mark holds an MBA from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and a Diploma in Leadership & Management from the ILM Institute. Being an avid learner, he keeps himself abreast with HR concepts and applies applicable ideas at his workplace. He is also a Certified PRISM Practitioner and in possession of an Award in Advanced Employment Law. Mark has been a member on the FHRD board for the past 8 years

Mr Noel Debono

Mr Noel Debono is a Manager at Deloitte's Human Capital Consulting arm. He brings to the table over 16 years of Human Resources experience across multiple industries. His areas of expertise include management and leadership, human resource operations, learning and development and workforce planning. Before joining Deloitte, Noel spearheaded a number of large-scale initiatives in one of Malta's largest bank. These include the successful introduction of learning technologies, developing training paths to support the implementation of core IT systems and lead ongoing development and upskilling initiatives, amongst other initiatives. He also worked as a freelance trainer, delivering several sessions related to self-development, management and leadership with various organisations, NGOs and government entities. As a Manager within the Human Capital consulting arm at Deloitte, Noel was able to share his accumulated knowledge and experience with clients who are keen to develop a future-proof and people centric HR strategy. His actions are guided by a deep understanding of HR's adaptability across different sectors, a belief in continuous development and the importance of building relationships based on mutual trust and ethical behaviour. Noel holds a degree in Computing from Greenwich University, a Masters in Business Administration and is a certified Business Coach.

Mr Peter Gatt

During the past 10 years Peter has occupied the position of Talent Development Manager at APS Bank plc responsibly for employer branding, succession and talent planning, performance management and HR policy development. He has been part of the Bank's transformation having supported the growth of the organisation to one of the leading core domestic banks in Malta. As Talent Development Manager he has been instrumental in HR planning and policy development focused on employee retention, talent development and wellbeing with the aim of maintaining high levels of employee engagement. Peter is a passionate HR professional having graduated with honours in management from the University Malta and holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from the Leeds University Business School in the UK.

Ms Claire Farrugia

Ms Claire Farrugia joined FHRD in January 2019 as a Projects Executive and spearheaded the sub-committee to launch the FHRD HR Quality Mark. She is a Human Resources and Training Professional with over 18 years of experience primarily in the manufacturing pharmaceutical industry. Claire holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Training from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Malta.

Ms Claudine Attard - VP

Ms Claudine Attard is a Director leading PwC Malta's management consultancy practice. She has over 20 years of management consultancy experience, supporting both public and private sector organisations. Since joining PwC in 2005, she has advised clients in different areas such as strategy, operating model design, change management, organisation design, talent management and performance improvement, amongst others. Between 2016 and 2018 she worked within PwC in London as an organisation design and change management subject matter expert. She started her career in 1998 as a consultant with Management Efficiency Unit - Government's in-house management consultancy organisation within the Office of the Prime Minister. Claudine holds a Master of Science in Organisational Change and Development from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) in Management from the University of Malta. She is also the Chair of the Education Committee of the Malta Chamber.

Ms Karen Muscat Baldacchino - CEO

Ms Karen Muscat Baldacchino is the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD). Karen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and an Executive Masters of Business Administration, both from the University of Malta. Recently she completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing Institute to ensure she is up to date with the latest marketing trends in the digital world. Karen has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and the organisation of events, particularly within the M.I.C.E (Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Events) business. She was responsible for the organisation and coordination of several prestigious local and international events throughout her career. The organisation of events, networking and marketing-related activities are her passion. During the past years, Karen has built an extensive network of local and foreign clients and business partners. Her curiosity, confidence and the need to be innovative, combined with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail, ensure successful and memorable events, and a motivating work atmosphere.

Ms Stephanie Cacopardo

Ms Stephanie Cacopardo is a seasoned HR professional with over 15 years of experience across various HR functions. She has spent the last seven years as an HR Manager at Melita Limited, one of Malta's largest private sector employers with over 450 employees, after holding HR roles at Deloitte Digital and Hetronic Incorporated. In addition, Stephanie imparts her knowledge and expertise in Human Resources Management to aspiring HR professionals through training sessions offered by FHRD. Stephanie's expertise lies in her ability to apply both strategic and operational skills, serving as a business partner across departments while effectively communicating and implementing employee policies and procedures. Her key strengths include assessing team dynamics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that foster development and growth within the company. Stephanie's commitment to employee well-being is evident in her daily operations, ensuring all employees feel valued and supported. Stephanie is a dedicated learner, holding a series of HR qualifications obtained throughout her career. In 2020, she completed an MSc in Human Resources & Training from the University of Leicester. She focused on the effectiveness of HR practices in retaining employees to overcome skills shortages. Currently, Stephanie is enrolled in several courses with the Academy to Innovate HR. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys cooking, outdoor adventures, and travelling.
