Annette helps families and individuals on their personal insurance needs. She uses her over 20 years of industry experience in assisting clients with coverage changes, claims assistance, and billing questions. She enjoys working with her clients so they understand their exposures and coverages. In her free time, Annette enjoys spending time with family, visiting Disneyland and Disneyworld, and rocking out to live music including a good heavy metal show! She is most proud of having raised two adult sons successfully into adulthood!
In his position as a Producer at Falcon West, Bill focuses on understanding the business of his clients in order to establish a high level of trust. He thrives on quarterbacking the insurance process, designing a balance of coverage, risk retention, and competitive pricing so his clients feel confident they're properly protected at fair market rates. When client policies are up for renewal, Bill consults with his clients on how their business may have changed and how best to amend coverage moving forward. It's Bill goal to make the insurance buying process simple and easy to understand.
Prior to joining Falcon West, Bill held managerial positions at Fisher Investments, a premier money management company and Allscripts, a leader in healthcare / life sciences information technology. This experience helps Bill understand his clients' requirements for protection from a higher-level perspective.
As a former rugby player for the United States National Team, Bill is a competitor and a team player. He loves to serve and is an active volunteer rugby coach at La Jolla High School and member of his local church. In addition, Bill is an avid fresh water fly fisherman.

Brenda specializes in servicing personal lines insurance policies for successful families. In her position at Falcon West, she assists in claims counseling, billing questions, policy changes and performs annual reviews of client's insurance portfolios. Brenda works with Senior Brokers to develop strategies to service client's needs and find the best solutions to protect their assets and families. She strives to develop and maintain good working relationships with Carrier Underwriters and Marketing Representatives.
When Brenda first started in the industry, she worked in a direct writer's claims center. This helped her gain valuable insight into counseling clients and more fully understanding the claims process. She also worked as an insurance producer for an independent agency, which taught her about underwriting, exposures, and risk mitigation. She's been in the industry for 20 years and continues her growth.
Brenda has a great love for nature. She enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and hiking. Brenda feels her love for nature helps inspire her; giving her a chance to feel gratitude and reflect on ways she can help lift and encourage others. Brenda also loves volunteering as a youth leader at her church and spending quality time with her wonderful husband, two children, extended family, and friends.

Chantel joined Falcon West in 2022 as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. She has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry including in marketing roles and on the carrier side. She has earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. She is inspired by a desire to help others and enjoys helping her clients better understand their insurance programs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring San Diego and trying new restaurants and cuisines.

Chelsea joined our team in 2023 as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. She has over 12 years of industry experience starting from a receptionist position and quickly progressing through greater responsibilities. She also has studied and earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, seeing movies, and camping. She also enjoys singing and if your fortunate she may quote in French the opening of the Fall of the House of Usher!

Colin Sergent is our Select Business Unit Account Manager. He delivers outstanding customer service as well as overseeing the process and delivery of all facets of operations for our SBU customers. He has over 10 years insurance industry experience having worked previously at The Hartford as well as a national broker. Prior to finding his way to the insurance industry, Colin worked as a professional actor in Los Angeles and counts a guest appearance on the Tyra Banks show as an acting highlight. He enjoys traveling in his free time and gains inspiration from visiting far flung locales.
Darrick leads our Energy and Marine insurance team, using his background of over 15 years of experience operating and maintaining oil rigs. A graduate of Cal Maritime Academy, Darrick's formative experience was working for multiple offshore oil drilling companies as an engineer and subsea specialist all over the world. Darrick holds a USCG chief engineer unlimited license as well as an IADC Well Control supervisory level certificate. He draws on that knowledge in putting together property and casualty programs for companies working on and offshore in the energy and marine space. He attributes his breadth of field experience into his success in helping underwriters understand his clients and schedule the appropriate coverages. Darrick and his wife, Jessica, met on an offshore rig and both now also enjoy trying to keep up with their two active young children.

Dove Blaker joined the Falcon West team in 2020. She has over 11 years' experience in insurance and has earned the CISR designation. In 2020 she completed courses to be certified for the WCIRB CompEssentials in the state of California. She was drawn to the industry with a desire to help people and prides herself on providing friendly service. She values the trust given by her clients and the partnership she develops in working closely with them. Dove is a native of Leucadia, CA, and in her free time, she enjoys camping, off-roading, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. She is also partial to all animals, especially her 2 cats and dog.

Jason is the go-to person at Falcon West. He is part of accounting, commercial lines account management, daily operations, IT, licensing, human resources and training. With his breadth of knowledge and more than 20 years in the insurance industry, he says he continues to learn something new about insurance almost every day. He keeps up with the ever-changing field by maintaining his insurance license (since 2003) and his CISR designation (since 2018). Both help him focus on insurance education, as well as give him the ability to project the future direction of the industry.
Additionally, Jason is a NetVU Golden State Chapter Leader. The Chapter provides AMS360 and Vertafore Agency Platform users in California a community for building knowledge and peer-to-peer networking.
Jason loves reading mottos and striving to live by them. He says having personal mottos remind you of who you are and what you stand for. Jason understands there are ups and downs in life, and he believes it's how you grow as an individual from those points that will help you achieve what you want in life.

Justin entered the insurance industry in 2005 at the ground floor, with scanning documents being his first assigned task. Never the one to sit idle, so with each project he increased his knowledge and experience and eventually joined the ranks of an Account Manager, a position he has held over the last ten years. Justin is motivated to ensure his clients have proper coverage and has earned the professional designations of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) & Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) to ensure he is aware of the latest in industry topics. Outside of work, his favorite pastime is using his degree in classical clarinet performance to perform in symphonies, wind ensembles, orchestras, and community wind bands. He notes that a degree in music is actually not as far from a career in insurance as you might imagine. Musical ensembles teach you to work together as a group, to strive to be your best for the good of the group, to pay attention to detail, and to focus on the task at hand. These traits instill discipline and time management skills, which contribute to his success as an insurance advisor. He also has a passion in rescuing Border Collies and loves the challenge of working with rescues.

Kurt Woelck is the founder of Falcon West Insurance Brokers. He started his insurance career in 1960 when he emigrated from his native country Germany to Los Angeles. He worked on both the company and broker sides of the business before moving south to San Diego in 1975. Kurt joined what was then Fiss-Whaley Insurance Brokers in 1988, and he purchased the company from its then owners in 1993. With the purchase, he renamed the company, Falcon West Insurance Brokers, Inc. Kurt has developed an outstanding and loyal culture at Falcon West which is exemplified by several of the firm's employees' longevity being in decades. Now in its 38th year, the firm has grown at a double-digit growth rate in each of the past several years.

Lena began her career in the insurance industry as a file clerk in 1998, and she has advanced into being one of Falcon West's Commercial Lines Account Managers. Working in the insurance industry allows her the opportunity to help people. She explains that the work is challenging and always an on-going learning experience. Lena realizes that there is always something new to incorporate in her day-to-day responsibilities. Currently she is working towards her CISR designation.
Faith inspires her. Spending time with my family and friends is very important to Lena. She also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, dancing, going to the beach, traveling, and of course wine tasting. She says she is into enjoying life in the moment.

Lisa joined us in 2023 after more than 10 years working in customer service positions in the industry. She traces her insurance roots to starting as a receptionist before progressing into Personal Lines and her current position as Commercial Lines Account Manager. In her spare time Lisa enjoys refurbishing furniture, hiking, cooking, canning jams and salsas and spending time with her dogs, friends and family. And don't forget to ask her about her mug collection that is getting too big for its existing cabinet space!

Mariela joined our team in 2023 as a Private Client Account Executive and has over 19 years industry experience. She enjoys the deep relationships she has developed with her clients while proactively managing their personal insurance portfolio. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, hosting big gatherings, watching sports, running, traveling, and exploring, but most importantly enjoys seeing her two little ones develop and grow up! She is also a huge animal lover, including her two dogs, and dreams of one day having a farm for rescuing any animal in need.

Martha's career in the insurance industry began in 1999. She worked for a few employers within the industry prior to joining Falcon West. She has her Property & Casualty License and has taken some courses to become a CISR. Insurance came as an opportunity that was not in her original plans, but she says it's been one the best life decisions she's ever made. Being an Insurance Agent has given her the opportunity to help people and create long-term relationships. She enjoys seeing a positive claim outcome, winning a case, getting a late fee waived. Martha says she has learned every person has their own qualities and believes it's best to respect different ways of thinking and working. As a customer service representative, she is respectful and responsive to every situation and need.
In her spare time, she spends as much time as she can with her kids and husband. Martha likes going to the movies or watching a good Netflix movie drinking a nice homemade Chai. She calls Church her second home and spends a lot of time there.
Matthew brings more than 25 years of insurance experience to Falcon West. He explains he simply fell into his career path at the age of 19 when he started to work for Auto Club AAA. During that time, Matthew gravitated to the insurance side of things, and the "rest is history" as they say. As a senior rep at Auto Club, he was recognized as a top producer and attended numerous trainings. Matthew joined Falcon West in 2000 and is an established and successful professional commercial broker and consultant. He is committed to business networking and stays on top of what's new in the industry. When asked, he says his key to success is attitude, personality, honesty, and outstanding customer service.
Matthew has been married for 23 years and loves to spend time with family and friends travelling and camping. As a self-proclaimed foodie, he also enjoys tasting as he travels. Mountain biking, riding off-road motorcycles and ATVs, golf, and the beach are some of his favorite hobbies.
Mayra joined our operations team in 2023. She works as a liaison between the carriers and our team members, handles HR matters, and works in accounting. She has an operations and sports psychology background and is used to working in high performance areas. Her attention to detail helps in our agency's growth. In her free time, she loves exploring and creating adventures with her daughter. She also loves to craft, including crochet, sewing, and using vinyl. She also is a music fan, dog lover, and cooking aficionado.
Mike joined Falcon West Insurance Brokers, Inc. in 2012 and became its sole owner in 2022. He graduated from the University of San Diego as an English major and earned a master's degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Mike has more than 25 years' experience in writing insurance programs for business and personal liabilities, property, and worker's compensation. He works with clients across the country in seeking out the best balance of coverage, risk retention, and competitive pricing. His customers are both successful individuals and families as well as closely held and publicly traded entities that operate worldwide. Mike has successfully acquired multiple agencies in Las Vegas, Minneapolis, and San Diego.
Mike and his wife Katy have three children. He most enjoys spending time with his family; traveling with them to new destinations; coaching or volunteering in his kid's interests and the community; searching for San Diego's tastiest burrito; staying physically active; anything related to rugby; and reading up on current events.

In her position as Account Manager, Nancy services accounts, prepares quotes, and presents proposals. Insurance was Nancy's first job in 1999. She notes that she did not have her license yet but was grateful to be hired for the opportunity. Her first boss told her, "Nancy, this is not just a job but a career I am giving you." He was right! Nancy learned how to work under pressure and to value teamwork when she worked in the walk-in only agency. With 5-10 clients waiting, she says it was essential to work together to help clients in a timely manner. She even received a plaque from Farm Bureau for writing the most homeowners' policies with membership. Nancy also achieved her CISR designation in 2019.
Nancy calls Falcon West her second family and enjoys coming in each morning. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, photography, and gardening.

Rachel works as an Account Manager for our personal lines clients. She calls on her 14 plus years of industry experience in helping clients navigate all obstacles or questions. Like most, she got into the industry by chance. Looking back, she takes great satisfaction on the relationships she's developed and the client trust that she has earned. Outside of work Rachel and her husband enjoy raising their two young children, after school activities, the too short MN summers, and camping.

Randy Bock has more than 27 years of experience as an independent property & casualty insurance advisor. He focuses exclusively on personal risk management for affluent families and family offices. Randy's work helps to protect the lifestyle of his clients. He develops customized insurance programs by utilizing risk management tools, delivering detailed annual reviews, analyzing the family office and the families it protects, and providing ongoing insurance education.
Randy hails from Minnesota. He is married to Bev, and they are the proud parents of a son.
Tom is a fully licensed Property & Casualty, Life & Health Insurance agent / broker. Over his more than 40 years in the industry, Tom has served as an Underwriter, Senior Underwriter, Supervising Underwriter, Senior Staff Underwriter, Property and Casualty Underwriting Manager, and Producer. In his position at Falcon West, Tom believes insurance is a great way to help people and businesses thrive even in the worse moments.
As a Vietnam Veteran, Tom says he is inspired by life. Each day, he believes, is an opportunity to make the world a little better. Part of the Lions Club and the Lions Foundation, Tom received the Melvin Jones Designate Lion of the Year, which is the highest award in Lionism. He is also involved with the Alpine VFW and Red Cross. In his spare time, Tom can be found golfing, fishing, traveling, or working on home projects.
